Fire Wolf Series

Chapter 88

Ch. 88 / 150 Sep 27, 2024

Footsteps could be heard clearly. My heart picked up race. My gaze swept down my ring. The symbol of danger was visible around my wrist. I tightened my fingers. I couldn't pull the ring out and she closed her hand around me. She placed her second hand on my mouth as I was going to scream.

He was roaring my name in rage. He glared at chains, "I'll kill you! I'll kill you!" He stomped toward the path I came from.

Shocked, I glanced at her. She glanced down at our hands. An amber glow covered our hands.

"You're the Fire Queen," She whispered, mouth gaping.

"I was expecting these words earlier when you see my eyes," I tried to pull my hands away.

Her fingers tightened and she curled her second arm around me, "Oh, girl." I felt a connection with her. I hadn't seen her before. I pulled my head back. Her eyes were clouded with water.

"Why are you crying?" I frowned.

"Thanks for saving me. Let's get out of here," She blinked her eyes.

For less than a second, it went dark and then my eyes were peering at the forest.

"How did you do that? Why didn't he see us? " I asked, perplexed. She wasn't a werewolf or vampire, "What are you?"

" I'll answer, but not now. You have nothing to fear." She was still holding my hand. Her eyes roamed around us. Perhaps, she was gaining powers from my ring. "A few more steps," She didn't look back at me again and began to pull me with her.

My gaze drifted to my wrist. I let out a slow breath. I was safe for now. I had to almost run to match with her steps, "You need to slow down. What are you? Not a werewolf, I know that." I asked, trying hard to match her long steps.

"Yes, I'm not a shifter." She paused.

"Then...?" My eyes bulged out when I sighed at the castle in front of me, standing proudly behind the woods or surrounded by them. It was an enormous, dark stone castle, "What is this place?" I asked, my lips parted in shock.

She kept on pulling me. I gazed at the castle with steady eyes. I never faced so many surprises in my life before. I saw people with wings. They were so beautiful. It was hard to take my eyes off of them. I could bet I wasn't the only one with a shocked expression, dropped jaw. They were looking at us in shock, awe, perplexity, and disbelief. I could hear murmurs reaching my ears.

"I'm an angel." She whispered.

My head jerked to her. I stared at her back. There were two long scars on her back, "Where are your wings? Are you hurt?" I gasped. Tears blinded my version. I was thankful for her gripping my hand, "He did this?" I asked, shocked and a surge of anger coursed through me. I wanted to hurt him.

She glanced over her shoulder. Her old torn gown was backless. It must be a beautiful dress someday. Her eyes shone with water but she didn't cry, "Yes,"

I glanced at her in terror. I opened my mouth but tears streamed down. I didn't want to think what she would have gone through and what he would have done to her. What was he going to do to me?

"Can I hug you?" I asked her. I knew it wasn't the right time when someone wanted to kill us. But I didn't know about her but I needed to hug her.

She stopped walking, she didn't unclasp my hand. She engulfed me, drawing her arm around my neck. Tears rolled down my cheeks, sliding on her back, "I'm sorry. He did this to you. My mate will definitely help you. Whatever you need and want to do with him." I whispered.

"He will die," Her voice did not waver. I pulled my head back. I could see wrath and determination to destroy him.

"Lillith!" A soft male voice reached us.

Her eyes softened. I could see tears running down her cheeks. She spun. Her hand slithered away.

A very handsome, tall, broad shoulders man in black looking at her with painful eyes. He must be her boyfriend. A gasp left my lips when I glanced at his dark soft looking wings, it was taller like him, slithering against the ground with his move.

"Dante!" She rushed at him and threw her arms around him.

I sighed in relief. We'd be safe here. I'd be able to inform my family and friends.

He pulled her to his chest, lifting her off the ground. Pain and relief washed over his face. He looked cruel and saint at the same time.

Abruptly, an ear-splitting noise crossed her lips. I stared in terror. I couldn't move, couldn't breathe.

I shivered when she squealed painfully. Her face contorted in agony. I was certain. Whatever it was, it seemed impossible to endure. She fell to the ground. Dante's arms held her up. He cradled her in his arms, his face scrunched up painfully seeing her in pain. He was muttering something to her. I couldn't decipher, just kept staring at them, in utter shock and fear.

His dark coal gaze snapped at me. His lips were moving in anger. He placed her head delicately on the ground and turned to me with blood running in his eyes. He'd kill me. I could see the determination in his eyes. Our surroundings seemed to be waiting for his action.

"What did you do to her?" He snapped angrily.

"N... nothing, she was ok. I don't know." I spun to her.

He yanked me away with a swipe of his hand. I felt like I was flying in the air. My ears ran with my screams. I was going to break my bones. Quickly, the cold air around me turned warm. I landed on my feet smoothly.

My hands shot to the side of my stomach. Nothing happened. Whatever was protecting me. Him should come for me when he kidnapped me, when he locked me in the doorless room. But then I wouldn't be able to help Lillith. I wanted to thank him now.

I felt a strange sort of peace. But it stayed for a short period. He was in front of me in a blink. His hand curled around my neck. He was looking more furious as he would destroy everything and start from me.

"I didn't do anything. I don't know anything." I blurted swiftly.

His face contorted in wrath. He pushed me away, almost propelling in exasperation. I squealed when I felt my body pushing back at the speed of the wind. I felt warmth circling me again. I landed on my feet again. Whatever it was, it was cocooning me.

He ran at me with full speed determined to kill me this time. His anger forced me to take steps back, and ran at the path we came from.

A figure landed between us. I stared at her in awe at first, then it turned interesting when I witnessed her fire-like wings. I was so stuck in them that I forgot my surroundings.

My hand advanced and I touched them. They felt alive under my touch.

"You returned my wings," I heard her soft voice. I couldn't look away from her. Next, I found myself in a choking embrace.

A part of him was in a full-on panic, but the more he saw her, the more his anger vanished, "Lilly," he spoke so softly.

She broke the hug. I was still in shock. She turned, showing her back and wings to me. I touched them again. The fire caught my hand. It danced against my skin as I tugged them away from her wings. The fire stayed for a short time, dancing against my skin and seeped inside my skin. I stared in shock, "Where did it go?" I asked, loud.

"You're the source of fire, Queen." Dante said. He was looking at me. I knew he wanted to apologize but it wasn't in his nature.

"What do you know about me? I need to know. Dark Realm! Anything, please." I said. They were looking great together. I wanted to feel love too.

He exchanged looks with his girlfriend and smiled at her, "Welcome to the shadow academy," He took my hand and kissed my knuckles.

My jaw dropped in shock, "You have the book!" I shouted.

He nodded and looked up at the sky.

"We don't have much time. Come. I'll inform your family and friends. They'd be here soon. We need to start the ritual." Lilly said.

"I have four days," I told them.

"You have hardly four hours, Queen." Dante said.

I glanced at her fire-like wings. There was no way I would do it. "What do you mean?"

"He kept us in a magical cave. Time ran faster than the normal we spend." She began to pull me with her.

"But," I pulled my hand.

She clasped it strongly, "Don't you wanna know? What are you? Your powers? Curse? Who cursed you? Your friends, family? They're missing you. He is missing you." She didn't need to mention Dastien's name

Tears spilled out of my eyes. I was missing him so much, "Yes," I muttered.

"We don't need a book to complete the ritual. You just have to sit calmly." Dante ushered us to his office. Everything was black in there. It reminded me of only one person. A soft smile tugged on the lips, "Your family and friends will be here soon." He said and turned to the door. I saw his hands clenching.

"Emersyn," I felt her hand on my shoulder.

I spun. Her face wasn't covered with dirt and tears-tracks. Her lips were natural pink as I imagined, "You're so beautiful," I told her.

She blushed. "Thank you is a small word," She said, with a smile.

I shook my head, "You misunderstood. I'm mute. I mean I can't shift. Yes, I'm Dastien mate but I don't have any power. It's you who did this or someone. I'm definitely not one," I told her.

"You'll believe me soon, my friend." Her smile was reaching her eyes, "Do you want to change?" She asked.

"After knowing, I was captured for four days. I would like to take a long hot shower. But I have only four hours. So, quick will work for now," I told her.

"We don't need to go away." She spun to the mahogany door, "I'll guard the door."

I wanted to stop her but I didn't want him to kidnap me again. He could come again. I shivered in fear, "Yea, that will be right,"

I nodded and hurried over to the door, "There's a dress for you on the counter." She said.

"Thank you." I nodded and bolted the door.

I wasn't certain about my dress. A black gown. There was no option so I wore it. I couldn't understand. Why didn't I notice the shouts before? Perhaps under the shower I couldn't notice. I turned to the door and pulled it open. The shouts and noises got louder.

My feet quickened at the window. I stared out in awe. Twenty feet up in the air, I saw dark wings and white wings. It was Dante and Zadkiel. My heart dropped. They were fighting. He was here to take us. Cold ran through my spine, frightening me.

Dark clouds were thundering above their heads. Where was Angel? We needed to go away. I scooted out of his office without another thought and began my treads at the forest. I broke into a fast sprint, I began to pant, I was scared. I didn't want to be captured in any magical cave again. I broke into a run. I could hear thundering behind me. My body jolted when I heard an ear-deafening shriek from behind me. I couldn't dare to turn, I couldn't dare to stop my feet.

Abruptly, I jumped back in terror, when something landed on my path. Shriek after shrieks left my throat. I felt hands on my shoulder. I pulled back but couldn't run away, feared to be near him.

"You're safe. My Lily is safe," He politely told me. His expression remained darker, his gaze began to calm.

I threw up. He held me by shoulders to help me, "He deserves this," He said with so much hate in his voice. He cut him in pieces.

I dare to look ahead. Almost twenty feet ahead of me, his head was laying on the ground. He was dead. Dante ripped his head apart.

The sight began to blur. I was going to faint. This was too much for me. My feet stumbled.

"I got you," I heard a weak voice. I stared up at the blue sky and the dark beautiful wings covered it, flattering. A slow smile crawled on my lips. My eyes closed automatically.

I opened my eyes with a jerk. My sight was still blurry. I saw my mother crying, looking at me with teary eyes, Elizabeth and Silver at her side, my mother's husband hugging her to one side, All six Alphas, my brothers.

"You'll open your eyes in the dark realm now," Lilly's voice pulled my gaze away from my family. I blinked, looking straight at the ceiling but I saw Lilly's face.

A beep sounded in my ears, blocking all voices. I darted my gaze on my family's faces. I tried to smile. 'I'll return with him,' I tried to say but I couldn't speak. The beeping increased, making me queasy. I tried to block the voices, and raise my hands to my ears. My body wasn't obeying me. The beep sharpened, I cringed but could not block them.

I felt a soft hand on my forehead. I batted my eyes, tears fell trailing down. The sad face of my mother emerged. I forced a smile. I love her, she's a good mother. She takes care of us. Though she couldn't take care of herself. Now I believe it could be that woman behind my mother's condition, the one who cursed me.

She was saying something. I tried to concentrate on her lips. At first, her voice was weak, but then I heard her clearly.

A beautiful princess she was,

Adored by all faeries,

angels, cold blood, witches,

light and dark,

Weaved a dream to be the queen of pure heart,

Destiny played cruel & landed in dark and light.

Stubborn to be with heart, light cursed, pushing her in dark.

Love will bring another chance,

Pure meets dark one,

Hearts meet again,

Light will play again.

Time will change.....

More nails on the path, to endure her soft bare feet, to hurt her heart, to make her eyes blood tears, to make her heart bleed,

Worse than dying her cursed life.

Her shadow will be dark,

Pluck the nails for his beloved.

One drop of cold blood, a flower from cunning dark land, flammaflos!

A gem from a beautiful wicked lady & true friendship of Dark,

True friendship!

To end the game of white sprite,

Reincarnation will take her away,

Light-cursed will wait, to end the spirit of pure heart by Sprite.

With flower from the soil, water from the ocean, the fire of the heart, wind from light, blood from cold,

Spread rose petals on her path, the Dark King will cocoon his beloved.

A ray of hope in his heart!

To save his heart!

I saw two features, one black and white floating in the air above my head. I perceived them landing on my forehead. Everything went dark. Then a blinding light forced me to shut my eyes.
