Everything was destroyed, scorched. My breath stuck in my throat. I managed to choke the words out. " What was this?" I turned to him, with my pounding heart in my chest.
"The place where everything happened." His jaw was set tight. After a blink of my eyes, I found his face unreadable, no emotions showing.
I looked around taking everything in. Everything was dark as it caught on a horrible fire. The walls of the castle were coal black. This place was worse than a nightmare. I turned white in fear. I trembled, feeling his hand crawling on my stomach.
A sudden calmness washed over me. "What did happen?" I asked him. I had a feeling he would tell me.
"You don't want two mates." He whispered in my ear.
I tensed immediately. I would never give my soul and body to anyone but Dastien. He's my mate. Only he. I stared at him with fat eyes.
He shook his head as he read my thoughts. "It's written from above." He whispered again.
"No." I pulled myself away from his touch. Elizabeth, Silver, Alessandro and Edward deterred behind him. "You have burnt everyone who dares to even come close to me. How could you say that." I stared at them with disbelief. A harsh breath shuddered through me. My gaze flitted around us. I trembled in dread.
"It was before you split your soul."
"It's impossible. You're my mate. Only you." I looked in his eyes, hoping he would comprehend that this conversation was hurting me. I couldn't think about anyone.
"Yes, right now. You remember Cecilia?" He asked, tilting his head, his eyes never leaving me.
I nodded my head. "She looks like me."
"Because she's a little part of your soul and your wolf. That part which considered Darius her mate." He said
I don't know what I did. It seems horrible. "Then what's the problem ?" I shouted. I didn't understand the main reason for discussing this bullshit. First of all, I can't do this. If I did this. I'm glad that I did. I don't believe in having two mates. It makes me feel ugly.
"His mother never stops cursing you until you reverse your magic." Aragon said. Esmeralda was standing next to him.
"I don't know how to do that. If I would have known I still wouldn't do it. I'm happy with one mate." I folded my arms feeling angry. They just couldn't force me. Whatever I didn't in my past life. It was the right thing to do.
"You have to do this. Darius would never touch you, he wouldn't demand anything." Esmeralda said.
"Ain't he happy with his mate, Cecilia?" I shouted in anger and irritation. I stared at her.
"I haven't seen him happy before." Esmeralda whispered. Her gaze dropped.
"Then it's settled. He's happy. I'm happy. If anyone has any problem. That's not my thing." I shrugged my shoulders and walked over to my friends. "I don't wanna stay here. Take me back home." I told them.
"We can't do this, Em. Only King controls the all in and out path to this place." Silver said, disappointed.
"I don't wanna stay here, Dastien." I told him out loudly, without looking at him.
"You'll get what you want. I don't want the curse-part of our lives. You have to do this." He said.
I whirled sharply. "I won't do this. You can't make me do things. Nobody can."
"There must be a way to break the curse. Or I'll kill her. " I flattened my lips. Aggravation wasn't part of my thoughts ever. I was regretting the moment the words lef.
Dastien stared at me, shocked. I heard them gasping. I was shocked too. He lifted his hand and caressed my cheek. "She's my mother."
"I'm sorry." I muttered, lowering my eyes to the horrible black ground.
A blast of grey light made me squeeze my eyes shut. My hands lifted up to block the light. It was so bright that I could feel it against my skin.
"I never thought I would hear it from you, my dear, daughter in law." I heard a chuckling soft sound before the effect of light started to dim over me. "I wouldn't mind, my love. My curse almost killed you a few months ago. Ain't it?" Her chuckling sound filled my ears again.
She was close to me. I was frightened that I wouldn't be able to move. I trietried. I let out a sigh of relief.
I lowered my hands and flew my eyes open. She was standing next to my mate, holding the beauty and grace which I wouldn't see on any television channel. Her hair was blonde and was touching her thighs, her skin was radiant without any spot, so flawless, oval face, thin pink lips. It was unbelievable that she was my mate's mother.
"Hye," I smiled. Shit! What am I doing? I should be giving her a furious look, and cursed her. I should do everything but not friendship.
Stepping forward, she lifted her hand and brushed her fingers on my cheek lovingly. I saw care and love for me. I must be dreaming or it would be a trap. Why would she curse me if I was on her dear-list?
She smiled. "Always innocent, so beautiful, my child." She took a step back and whirled. She didn't come alone. Darius and my copy Cecilia were here too.
"Why did you curse me when you're so.... what should I say? You're not evil. I can say." I bit my inner cheek. It felt as if I was alone on this side and they all grouped against me, facing me.
She chuckled softly again. "You're more dear to me than my sons. But what you did That destroyed everything." She turned sharply to me. Her eyes were not soft anymore. She was holding anger in her beautiful eyes. Her sons got their eyes from her. But they flashed silver before turning Forest green again.
"I don't want two mates, ma'am." I stuttered in dread and plucked a step back. I was standing alone. No one wanted to be with me in it. Not even my friends, not my mate. That hurt.
Her eyes flashed silver again. "Mama. You call me mama. You have to fear nothing, my dear child." Her voice and eyes softened at me again. I could feel her love and care for me.
"I don't remember anything." I muttered, hoping someone would interfere with our conversation, but no one offered any help.
"Yes, the curse is preventing the darkness within you from taking over your kind heart. I would never hurt you, sweetie." She said, confidently.
Darkness! Like Cascandra? No, my mother has always taught me to be a good girl. It couldn't be. Fear and dread was coursing through me. "What do you mean?" My big eyes filled with fear.
"I'm a light, my dear child." Her smile was so attractive. Like a child looking at her parents as they were her words, my eyes zoomed on her in that way. Her eyes turned to me and flashed silver again. But they were soft on me this time. "I can see my curse preventing the darkness spreading through you, taking my dear child." She paused to see my reaction. I was terrified and my widened eyes were on her full oof dread. A rock settled in the pit of my stomach. "They all can see."
My dilated fearful eyes drifted on them. Sadness on my friends' faces, tightness of Edward's features, pity on Alessandro's face, hatred in Esmeralda's eyes, disappointment in Aragon's eyes and anger in my mate's eyes proved her words. The other part of my soul was crying badly, Darius was comforting her, holding her to his chest. I still don't remember anything. They wouldn't lie to me.
"What did I do?" I asked, my tongue was also shivering. Was it fear or something, I didn't like these suffocating feelings?
"You destroyed everything, Em. Everything." I was startled with anger in Esmeralda's voice. Her face contorted in rage as she glared at me. "You're our Queen. You should make our world beautiful. Look around..." She lifted her arms. "Your darkness did this." She accused me when I didn't do anything.
I'm the villian of my life, their lives. Darkness! I'm not bad.
I shook my head and tears welled in my eyes. I couldn't do this. My glassy eyes turned to Dastien. He just kept looking at me, holding so much emotion and pain in his eyes. They were burning fire. He was also furious. At me?
I shook my head, recalling his words. He hated what I did. How would I know when they weren't telling me anything?
"Why do you think you're wearing a red diamond? It's helping the remnants to block the darkness. Darkness within you, could make this beautiful world, all realms worse than hell. There will be no love, no care, only cruelty. Women will be slaves again, Evil will rule us. You can't even imagine the damage, Emersya. You're a powerful Queen, Fire wolf and Light Wolf's mate. You have to reverse the magic. I will help you. We all will help you. You have to do this for our people, for the realms, for your friends, family and your mates." She said.
Mates! It made me feel nasty. I would never do this.
"Then let me die with the curse." I told them, not certain of anything.
"It's not that easy, Em. Dastien can't endure this. Your going away made him uncontrollable for a minute. See, what happened." Silver said, her eyes were shining with tears.
Tears rolled down my eyes, making the dark sky thunder. It was almost dark. The fire burning around us was making things visible. It was a dark pitch from head to top where your eyes go.
My eyes locked with his fire eyes. He took long strides toward me. His arms curled around me. I threw my arms around him and rested my head on his chest. His hand crawled on my lower back.
"Do this, my life." He muttered after pressing his lips on my head. His warmth enclosed me, comforting the pain in my chest.
"You can carry on like this. But your child won't be strong. They might be full of darkness. You can't even imagine what would happen next. Your child won't be the shadow of the King but also darkness. You haven't seen what happened here. I wish you were here." Esmeralda cried. "My father died. One of my brothers died fighting against the darkness that your black magic brought to our realm. It opened the portal to our realm. Everyone has lost someone dear to have these peaceful days. But we're not safe. The portal is still there. You have to do this. For everyone."
Cecilia stepped forward. Her eyes were red with tears. Darius' arms were curled around her as he was deterring her to go somewhere. His eyes were flashing silver and glassy.
"I'm a small part of your soul. Untainted. You're holding the darkness. I could see it swirling around your soul. The curse is protecting our soul. You should do this. It's right thing to do. Bloodline matters for every living thing in or another realms. Darius is my mate. He would feel me around him, within you but he wouldn't do what you don't like. You can't halt him from claiming that part of your soul that belongs to him. But your body will only belong to your mate... Dastien. We have had our share. We're content." She smiled despite of unbearable pain of separating from her mate.
I looked up at my mate. I didn't need to exchange words.
He nodded his head, his arms tightened around me. At the same time, the earth shook beneath my feet.
My heart plummeted. Dread tightened my chest. I stared into his eyes in fear. My face whitened in terror when I saw a dark shadow rising higher in the air behind my back, including my mother in law.
All gathered to one side, at my back. Abruptly, the temperature builds in the environment. I felt a cool breeze at my back. My head jerked and I watched over my shoulder.
Mama lifted her arms in the air and a transparent watery shield surrounded them. She smiled at me, feeling my eyes on her. "Dastien fire won't hurt you, my child. But all are not gifted like his mate." She chuckled softly again.
It lessened my fear for a while. A blast of heat encircled me when fire emitted from his entire body, burning the shadow.
My hands shot to my ears when ear-splitting noise filled the air. There was nothing but it was only darkness as far as my eyes could see. The dark shadow was in lighter shade that made it visible to my eyes.
"I love this sound. The sound of their death." I heard Elizabeth.
I couldn't stop the smile that appeared on my face. I felt Dastien's body relaxing in front of me. He leaned in and kissed me softly. 'Reverse the magic. I'll be out dealing with them.
