I nodded and hummed loudly. Keeping my steps slow and measured, I paced toward her room. I hated my habit of listening to everyone. I should start making my decision. I started it an hour ago. As a result, my mother has locked herself in her room.
Great start, Ember! I patted my back.
There is an empty place in my chest. That feels strange to me today. Daddy L said that that was my Wolf's place.
Gathering the little encouragement that I had in me, I knocked on my mother's room. "Mom," I waited for her to open the door.
I tried to hear anything but nothing. These wolves made no noise. That made them perfect hunters. She would also have sensed me.
"Momma," I slapped my palm on the door. I heaved a deep sigh when I didn't get any reply. I spun to leave. Sadness engulfed me. Would she ever try to know what I want?
"Emma, here, dear." My head snapped hearing her sweet voice coming from my room. It made me frown. She used her dead girl's name for me. I don't know why I remind her of her. I don't mind. I only got love in exchange. She must dote on her.
I walked over to the next room. My room wasn't far away or I wasn't provided a different wing like my brothers.
I peered in. The bed was piled with my clothes and she had already started to pack my things. "I thought you were upset." I paced in, feeling a little relief. This was my father's room. Our entire house burnt to ashes. Dad made it park. This house was a castle. The giant one, full of all luxury.
"You want to go." She placed the folded tops in the bag. Her voice wasn't showing any sign of disappointment if she was.
"Mom?" I said hoping to grab her attention.
"You can stay with Katherine or with your brothers. Your Kat mom will give you a tour of the academy." She didn't spare me a look.
"Mom? " Is she really going to behave like this?
"Yes, sweetie." She grabbed another top and began to fold it.
"You're not even looking at me." Deflating, I plopped down on the couch.
Her shoulders dropped as she let out a long exhale. She looked at me and smiled. "I forgot that my princess isn't a little girl anymore. She is growing." She walked over to the couch and sat next to me.
I curled my arms around her shoulders. "I will miss you, Mom," I muttered. I would miss my sister too. It would be going to be hard.
"You can come back at any time. You don't like it there. Just give me a call, I'll be there with your father."
I chuckled. I lifted my head from her shoulder and looked at her. She was not smiling. I gulped. She meant every word. She wasn't saying it to bring a smile to my face. "If you don't want to, I won't go." Shit! I did it again. Because she did not want me to go. I wouldn't go. I wouldn't call that it was my dream. I just wanted to know the life my parents, my sisters, brothers, and every member of our pack have lived.
She sadly smiled at me. "You want to go. You will go." She brushed the hair back from my cheek and kissed my head leaning forward.
"So, it's true. You're going."
We looked at the door. Everly was resting her shoulder against the door frame and flashing her big smile at us.
"You know. I always wanted to see a fairy" I mocked, trying to light the gloom in the air.
"Yes, SN Academy provides it easily. They could be dangerous. But I trust our brothers they will keep troubles away from you."
"I'm not a kid." I rolled my eyes.
Everly chuckled and pushed herself forward stepping into the room.
"You're always my child. My little girl." Mom said.
"I know. I love you, Mom. " I tightened my arms.
Her eyes shone with tears. She took me in a choking embrace. I might not sense the air around me, I could be just a human but I know she loves me. "Love you, my sweetie." Her voice cracked.
"You're going to step into a totally different world, Ember. These students would be just humans but also carrying powers. A strong beast within them. Make a lot of friends there. No enemies." She joked.
It wasn't a joke if she would ask from me. No one liked me in my school for showing them the richest girl, a billionaire's daughter unintentionally.
"Yes, if my babysitter wouldn't follow me everywhere." I glanced at my mother.
"He wouldn't. You'll be safe there. Your brothers won't let anything happen to you." Mother said.
"I'm not going to the front line, Mom." I smiled up at her and she returned immediately.
"It isn't less than for you with no wolf inside you." Everly shook her head. I saw worry on her face. It was gone immediately.
"Now, I don't wanna hear more." Our mother said strictly. "Cassidy is getting impatient to get in here." She gestured to us at the door.
Everly was the first to walk out of the room. I sauntered behind my mother.
I wasn't certain that I would survive even a single day out there. Everly was right about her opinion. In simple school, I was protected by guards. They were my people, but would they consider me part of the academy? Shaking off my melancholy, I grabbed the hairbrush and ran it through my auburn wavy hair.
"Ember, we're waiting." I heard a loud voice from my sister. They spoke in whispers but not with me. She's a good and protective sister. She would never hesitate to show me the real side of the world.
I jogged out of the room. Reaching down the stairs, I settled into a slow gait. My sister ran her eyes down my dress. I picked a jumpsuit and put my hair down. My brows arched asking her.
She smiled and nodded. She was dolled up in a beautiful black dress that was reaching her knees. Her hair was braided from the fronts, the colored locks were wavy in her Auburn hair today. She always looked gorgeous.
"Ready, girls," Luke asked, toying with the key of his car.
"I'll take my car." Everly gripped my wrist and pulled me out of the hall.
"We haven't told Mom," I told her, looking over my shoulder.
"I've told her, kiddo." Luke curled his arm around my neck, tugging me away from Everly.
"I'm not a kid." I elbowed him hard in his stomach.
It just made him laugh harder. "Who's older, Em?" He smirked, gazing at me. They feel proud calling them older. The older, the more powerful their wolf.
"Jasper," I popped out my tongue and scurried forward, deterring my feet near the black BMW.
"Get in, Em." Jace opened the back door for me.
Em was better than Kid. I climbed in and moved further, giving space to Everly. She waved her hand holding the keys. She winked at me before passing.
Luke strode toward her car. "These sisters," He rolled his eyes.
I looked at Jasper. He didn't object. All the objections were for me.
Jace got in the car and Jasper ignited it. They didn't say a word. They were talking in their heads. It was only me who needed a phone.
"So, how did you manage to persuade them to sign?" I asked I wasn't expecting my mother to sign them and she was also packing my things.
"No one could say no to Reina. You'll meet her soon." Jace said, his eyes out of the window.
"Does she meet all her students? " I asked, wondering.
"You're Alphas' sister. You're special." Jasper said. His hand worked smoothly over the steering wheel.
"I'm special for one more thing. I'm the only twin who was born without my wolf. She would be curious to see the unluckiest face."
"You're not unlucky, Emersyn. You're special." Jasper said, looking through the rearview mirror.
"Look at yourself through your parent's eyes, your family's eyes. You'll realize how valuable you're to them." Jace twisted in his seat to look back at me. He still gives me the look that screamed I'm five years old.
"There's also a world outside the door of the house. I should have at least learned our way. But I know nothing, except what Dad, Uncle, and you all have taught me."
"You know the basic rules of survival. They're enough." Jace said.
I signed and shrugged my shoulders. I wasn't certain. I was excited to be there. I could mull over the danger later. It's a fun time now. there would be real danger around me. That wouldn't be enough with three kinds of supernatural creatures around me. Three or many, don't know.
"Are there more students?" I asked.
"Yes, but you're the only one without your wolf. Not even a slight hint." Jace said.
Jasper shot him a cold glare and swiped his eyes on the road immediately. Jace's face fell. Jasper must be rebuking him in his head through Alpha's bond.
My eyes widened at the news. But I already knew it. Everly told me. She's the only one I expect true from. Otherwise, everyone tried to hide. Mostly mute shifted on the full moon day, except me.
"Don't scold him, Alpha. I have the right to know the truth. Stop keeping me in the dark." I pressed my lips showing my disappointment.
"It's my fault. I should not say..." Jace shook his head.
"No, you and everyone should tell me. Imagine I don't know things about myself but the world out there knows. They're going to bully me, mock me." I said.
"No one is going to mock you." Jasper said through his gritted teeth.
"We're not human. So, no one is going to bully you." Jace smiled back at me.
Whatever this Alpha power command does to him, it doesn't work on me. He could ask me to do things by mentioning. Jasper is the eldest son of the family, one of the Alpha.
"I trust you," I smiled. They could feel my nervousness. They didn't say a thing. I relaxed in my seat, looking out of the window at the club. It was on the premises of our territory.

Jasper pulled into the car and got out of the car using his wolf speed. I stared up at him blinking in disbelief. He was smiling down at me with the door wide open. "Don't look so shocked, little sister." He grabbed my hand and pulled me to my feet. "Aunt is not here to see you." I nodded. "I'll see you later. " he said, his eyes were on Jace. He strode away.
"Welcome to Wolf Gang," Jace threw his arm around my neck as we walked over to the entrance. My sister rarely spends time with me. We're close but her time spent in the academy with her friends
