Derek's POV
Upon hearing what I said, Rosago seemed to have fallen into an ice cave. I saw disbelief written all over his face.
"Alpha Derek, what did you say..."
Rolf carefully walked in with a large basin, wearing professional gloves in advance to avoid getting injured.
"I value justice. I will accidentally spill the acid on you. If you can dodge, it's your lucky day. I'll let you get away. But if you can't, don't blame me."
A trace of fear flashed in Rosago's eyes. I had already cut him with a knife. Thus, if the wounds were contaminated with sulfuric acid, he would suffer a hell lot.
Rosago knelt on the ground, begging frantically over and over again, banging his forehead down.
"Alpha Derek, I'm sorry! I've learned my lesson. The sulfuric acid like that could be fatal!" I kicked him away.
The aura of Alpha was faintly emanating, putting Rosago under tremendous pressure.
I stood up straight, looked at him with an indifferent expression, and spoke with each word with gritted teeth.
"Originally, you also knew that this would be fatal, yet you didn't hesitate to splash it onto a woman. You know that for a woman, her face matters a lot. If her face is ruined, even if she manages to keep her life, how do you expect her to spend the rest of her life?"
Rosago raised his hand and slapped himself frantically on the face. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. I only cared about myself. I didn't think about others' situations. I deserve to die. I..."
"Then why now? Die." I looked at Rolf and said, "Take care of him."
I had already had Rosago's background checked a long time ago. He was a gambler, the kind who would gamble at any cost, and coincidentally, he was also a fan of Lisa's.
After the incident, he went online and started insulting Tabitha. Later, someone contacted him and gave him money to throw sulfuric acid at Tabitha.
Rosago was desperate due to the debt collectors. The idea of being able to seek revenge for his idol and also make money seemed too good to be true.
He agreed without hesitation, but he didn't expect it would bring him such trouble.
I walked out of the room with big strides, and the door closed behind me. Soon, a piercing wail came from inside.
I wiped the blood off the dagger with a towel, while Alvin stood behind me and calmly reported, "I checked everything. They were cash transactions, and the other party was very cautious. They specifically chose a route without surveillance. According to Rosago, the person who paid was a man, completely covered up without revealing any features, but we do know that he is tall and has a similar build to me. And he doesn't have a Seattle accent."
"Is that all?"
"Well, the other party even processed their voice, not wanting to reveal any flaws. Currently, we can only determine that the person who wants to kill Tabitha is from overseas. He has contacts and is super resourceful."
I played with the handle of the knife, as a chill ran through my heart. I said to Leo in my mind, "Leo, the guy is so cautious. It seems like a difficult guy to deal with."
Leo responded, "We'll find him."
"It's a pity that despite the huge commotion this time, the one behind still didn't surface. Don't let your guard down. Continue to inquire around. There might be other witnesses," I said to Rolf.
"Alpha Derek, rest assured. I have already made arrangements."
"Your trip abroad must be kept confidential. Don't let anyone find out about your trace and always stay alert."
"Yes," said Alvin. I raised my hand and patted Alvin's shoulder. "You guys worked hard this time."
"You're very welcome, Alpha Derek. They had no evidence and couldn't torture us. We did nothing but leave our statements. However, Samuel seems to blame you for what happened to his sister. It might be troublesome. How about we find an excuse and send him away?"
"No need for that. I wouldn't stay there recently either. I don't need to get along with him, so let's focus on dealing with the things ahead."
"Yes." I strode into the darkness, but there were still no clues to be found about the person I was supposed to investigate.
