Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 466

Ch. 466 / 840 May 06, 2026

Tabitha's POV

After more than ten hours of long flight time, the plane finally landed smoothly at Sydney Airport.

I took off the eye mask, stretched, and moved my stiff hands and feet.

The temperature in Sydney is completely different from Seattle. It is currently snowing heavily in Seattle, while Sydney is warm like spring, with a warm and fresh scent in the air.

As soon as I got off the plane, I felt a completely different atmosphere.

There had already been a person in a black uniform at the VIP gate, welcoming the arriving guests. "Alpha Derek, I hope it has been a pleasant trip."

His gaze fell on me, and he first looked me up and down before slowly speaking, "Miss Hartley, I hope you've enjoyed your trip, too."

I did not miss the middle-aged man's gaze as he scrutinized me. A woman's innate sixth sense told me that he did not like me.

Of course, I didn't want to prove anything either. I just nodded at him as a way of greeting and then left first.

My wolf also sensed Jerry's unfriendliness in my consciousness. It was slightly restless as if reminding me to be cautious of this man.

Derek did not catch up, and when I turned around, I found him giving the man a cold, displeased look.

"Are you blind? I wouldn't mind having new corneas transplanted." Derek said coldly.

Jerry turned pale with fear, and he quickly lowered his head.

Rolf, with a mischievous look on his face, said, "Come on, Jerry, my brother had already contacted you before you came. Are you really unaware or just pretending not to know? What did you say just now? Miss Hartley?"

"Come, Rolf." Alvin walked by Rolf and patted his shoulder, telling him not to cause trouble."

When Alvin passed by, he didn't even look at Jerry.

Derek's mother, Andrea, was behind Jerry. It seemed like Andrea didn't like me, which explained why he had such a reaction.

Derek stepped forward briskly and took my hand, explaining in a low voice. "I was in a secret marriage, so he didn't know about you."

"Well, he does now." I understood, so I didn't say much.

My wolf Crystal gently throbbed in my consciousness, seemingly worried about my situation.

Derek turned his head to look at me and finally nodded after confirming that I had not been affected.

I had become accustomed to my state of mind. My emotions were extremely stable, which was completely different from before.

No one was able to affect my mood now.

"I have already made a plan beforehand and have long wanted to try the local specialty dishes here."

Derek offered me whatever I wanted. "The so-called authentic local cuisine at the airport is not authentic. Take a good rest and adjust to the time difference. Once you're well-rested, I'll take you to enjoy a leisurely meal."

"Great," I replied quickly.

Jerry also followed in. Just having been scolded by Derek, he was now quite nervous.

He gathered up his courage and approached the two of them, bowing his head and cautiously speaking, "Alpha Derek, Luna Tabitha, Mrs. Greenwood is still at home waiting for both of you to have a meal."

I seemed to have understood the lady's attitude towards me from his attitude towards me.

Since she didn't like me, it was highly likely that this dinner wouldn't be enjoyable.

Seeing that it was getting late, I didn't want to lose more energy.

My stomach was very delicate. It would hurt if I ate too much, didn't eat, or ate too little.

I had to take extremely good care of my stomach.

I didn't know what kind of person I was in the past, but now I just wanted to prioritize myself.

Derek had already spoken up for me without me so I didn't have to answer. "I'll grab something to eat. It won't delay us for long."

Derek took the matter upon himself directly, leaving Jerry speechless, so he had no choice but to leave.

I didn't hold myself back. All I needed was to have a good meal.

I wiped my mouth clean and only stood up satisfied after burping.

Derek chuckled and said, "After eating so much, do we still need to eat at the welcome banquet at home later?"

I blinked at him and said, "I had a feeling that tonight's dinner wouldn't be that simple."

I leaned in towards Derek's ear and asked, "Your mother doesn't like me, right?"
