Tabitha's POV
The encounter with my mother-in-law went unexpectedly smoothly.
After sending Andrea away, I kept staring at that beautiful bracelet.
Witnessing the passage of time, it became more beautiful.
I did not wear it on my hand. Instead, I just examined it closely. Deep down, I had a faint feeling that it should not be mine.
"Do you like it?" Derek's voice suddenly came from behind, startling me.
I was so engrossed that I didn't even hear his footsteps.
"Well, it looks pretty good," I replied.
Derek picked up the bracelet and gently said, "Let me put it on for you."
I instinctively avoided it. "Maybe next time. Such precious items are usually worn on important occasions, and I'm not used to wearing jewelry in daily life. It just feels so inconvenient."
Derek hesitated for a moment. In the end, he didn't say anything.
"Alright, it's your call.."
Although I spent every day with Derek, I only had a good impression of him. I didn't have feelings for him at all.
I even felt like I was avoiding him.
However, he said that there was still a long journey ahead and we shouldn't rush.
I watched as he took out a hairdryer and carefully dried my wet hair.
Then, I held his hand. It was beautiful, with well-defined knuckles on his fingers.
"You shouldn't have used your beautiful hand just to blow my hair. Don't you think it's a waste?"
"It's my pleasure to do it for you." Derek lifted the back of my hand and kissed it. "Tabitha, I love you."
He always expressed his love for me without hesitation, saying that he only had me in his eyes and his heart.
I reached out and touched his smooth cheek, tears of confusion welling up in my eyes.
"Derek, how was us in the past?"
"You loved me very much, and I did too," he told me.
My fingertips gently traced his eyebrows and his eyes, my voice filled with puzzlement. "I feel familiar with your face, but I don't get it. Since we love each other so much, why do I not have any feelings for you? Did something happen between us?"
Derek avoided my gaze. He just tightly embraced me, his voice becoming gentle as he asked, "Tabitha, if I have deeply hurt you in the past, can you forgive me now?"
"Was it a matter of principle? Did you betray me? Or have you had affairs with other women?" I wondered.
Derek answered decisively, "No. You've always been the only one in my heart."
Derek seemed quite candid about this issue.
"As long as it's not a matter of principle, I can forgive." I lifted my head from his embrace and asked earnestly, "So you have never betrayed me, right?"
My gaze shot directly into Derek's heart.
Somehow, he seemed a little flustered. "Tabitha, I have only had one woman in my life, and that is you."
"Okay, I got it. It's getting late. I'll go to bed now."
Derek kissed my forehead and said, "Goodnight, I'm going to wash up."
I didn't think much and went to bed. I was really tired today.
When Derek came out of the bathroom, I was already feeling a bit tired.
He sat in front of me, gazing deeply at me, and sighed.
My wolf sensed Derek's deep affection and determination in my consciousness. It appeared to anticipate our future while reminding me to cherish this relationship.
I silently thought to myself that maybe I should let go of the doubts in my heart and try to accept Derek's love.
