Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 462

Ch. 462 / 840 May 06, 2026

Rosago's POV

The dark room had no trace of light. As a man 1.8 meters tall, I, Rosago, was forced to stay in a corner.

Suddenly, I heard a click.

I was like a mouse in the dark, always silently observing the movements outside, even the slightest sound could catch my attention.

I pushed my glasses up on my nose and scrambled towards the door.

My heart was filled with anticipation, thinking that someone finally came. I wondered if they were going to set me free.

As a ray of light shone through the door, I instantly felt a glimmer of hope.

After I made the clarification video, I was not forced to do anything, yet at the same time, I was short of both food and water. It had been over 10 hours since I last drank or ate anything. I was dying of thirst.

Finally came someone. Would I be able to leave now?

A tall man's figure appeared at the door, and I quickly spoke up and asked, "I have said everything you wanted me to say, so you should let me leave now."

With a snap, the light in the room was turned on.

The bright light suddenly shone into my eyes, and I had to raise my hand to shield them.

Once I got used to the light, a cold voice came into my ears and said, "You wanna leave now? Nice try."

His voice was not loud, but it felt like a stone hitting my heart hard. Instantly, I had a bad premonition, feeling that I might not be able to escape.

The cold man in the sharp suit caught my eye. I had never seen a face so handsome before in my life.

"Derek, oh no, it's Alpha Derek!"

Perhaps it was the overwhelming aura emanating from Derek that made me realize that I addressed him in the wrong way.

I dared not hesitate any longer and immediately knelt on the spot.

I panicked as I said, almost pleading, "I was carried away by the rumors on the Internet, Alpha Derek. Please, believe me, I didn't mean to harm your Tabitha."

"Didn't mean to?" Derek laughed as if he had never heard such a hilarious joke in his entire life, and a faint smirk appeared on his face.

I knew that he was never someone who bullied others or looked down on them.

I supposed he would have been more tolerant if it were something trivial and harmless.

Yet what had happened was not. If Tabitha had reacted a bit more slowly, her face would have been ruined by the sulfuric acid.

That could have brought irreversible consequences. Even if I told him that I never meant to, he wouldn't have believed me.

As Derek smirked and remained silent, my heart pounded with fear, and my back broke out in a dense sweat.

I was extremely nervous and had no idea what he would do next.

Just as I was nervously guessing what Derek would do, he suddenly slashed my arm with a dagger.

He did it so fast that I was left with no time to react. The next thing I could feel was the pain in my arm.

"Ah!"

"I didn't mean to harm you, either. Can you forgive me?" Derek asked with a cold face.

No matter how much pain I had to endure, as long as I could walk out of the place alive, I would be grateful. Thus, I immediately replied, "Yes, I can. Of course, I can. This is all I deserve."

"You are smart," he said.

I thought that he might let me go when he said that, and a glimmer of hope rose in my heart. I asked with little patience, "So..."

Yet Derek replied to me with his even crazier behavior. He started to cut me over and over again without any hesitation.

I just realized at this moment that the question itself was a trap. No matter how I answered it, it would lead to the same outcome.

Derek had no intention of letting me go. I knew it would be my doom day. My heart was filled with despair and fear.

"Does it hurt?"

"Yes, Alpha Derek. Please, I beg you to let me go." I pleaded, my tone filled with agony and supplication.

"You want me to let you go? But did you let Tabitha go?"

Derek grabbed my collar and said, "Do you know what happens when someone is splashed with sulfuric acid?"

His eyes were bloodshot, and with that expression, I broke out in a cold sweat.

I mumbled in my mouth, "I didn't know. I didn't know, Alpha Derek, I was truly deceived. I was blinded by greed... I didn't think much at that time..."

Derek coldly whispered in my ear, "Then today I will let you truly experience what it feels like to be forcefully splashed with sulfuric acid."

My body couldn't help but tremble, and my heart was filled with endless fear and regret.

Derek loosened my collar, turned around, and left the room, leaving me trembling in fear and despair.

I knew that I had messed with someone I couldn't afford to offend, and my fate was already sealed.
