Derek's POV
Tabitha was different from usual. She had deliberately put on light makeup and tied up her hair.
She was wearing a lake-blue wool coat paired with sapphire earrings.
Her fair neck was both elegant and noble.
She walked towards me gracefully in high heels. Although not as glamorous as at an awards dinner, she looked fresher and more elegant.
In terms of looks, she was unmatched even among the stars in showbiz. And when it came to her temperament, she was truly one of a kind.
I was also completely captivated when I saw her in person for the first time, let alone Zander.
This woman exuded charisma as if she were a statue of a deity, sacred and inviolable. It was the first time I felt a woman could be described as divine.
I got up and walked toward her, extending my hand to her. "Why didn't you tell me before coming?"
Tabitha also naturally placed her hand in mine, and our hands, both wearing wedding rings, held together.
Tabitha had grown comfortable with me now, a far cry from the initial awkwardness upon waking up.
The two of us were like a couple who had been dating for half a month. We were not quite in the throes of passion yet, but our relationship was still pretty good.
Tabitha smiled gently, "I heard you encountered some trouble, so I came to check on you."
"It's okay. I can handle it." I pulled her to my spot and gestured for her to sit.
Tabitha remained silent, while Zander, who had snapped out of his astonishment, spoke up, "Derek, I truly envy your positive mindset. Even at the brink of life and death, you still have the energy to publicly display intimacy."
After Tabitha sat down, she finally looked up at Zander.
When she arrived, I had already instructed the driver to inform her about the current situation.
Zola also recounted some past events to Tabitha, and she also learned about what Zander had done.
A child who had just turned three years old joined forces with someone else to bully me. It truly confirmed the saying that some people were just bad seeds from the start, and it had nothing to do with their age.
No matter how well-dressed and righteous he appeared, he could not change the fact that his soul was extremely ugly.
"In this era, even dogs could vote at the table. Is it illegal to show affection in public? Zander, if you're not happy about it, you can bring a female dog here to put on a show, and I'm sure no one will stop you."
The people around us gasped. The tension in the air was even thicker than before.
At least I wouldn't attack verbally, but Tabitha didn't care that much.
Anyway, she was just a woman. At worst, she could bare her teeth and curse at Zander without fear. But could Zander really lower himself to that level?
Zander was initially taken aback. From what I knew about Tabitha, she was not the type to be pushy or aggressive.
Obviously, Zander did not anticipate it either.
He didn't expect a blatant attack when they first met.
It seemed that she was even more interesting than I had imagined.
"Tabitha, you're absolutely right," Zander said with a slight smile, nodding his head in a very humble manner.
Tabitha probably didn't expect him to be grinning like that after she laid into him.
These kinds of people were often the most terrifying. They smiled happily in front of others, but they would torment their enemies to death secretly.
"Don't try to make connections. My husband doesn't have a younger brother."
Zander grinned even wider, like a fox. "Yes, if you're not happy, I won't call you that."
But his gaze swept freely across Tabitha's face, making her feel very uncomfortable.
With a loud bang, my fist smashed onto his desk, veins popping on my hand, and a hint of ferocity revealed in that moment. "If you don't want to be carried out when you leave, shut your damn eyes."
At that moment, I was radiating an aura of aggression. My Alpha's aura was sweeping through the entire space in an instant. Those who knew me well instinctively took a couple of steps back.
Only Zander, seemingly fearless, answered, "Ms. Hartley is so beautiful that it's hard to take my eyes off her. Derek, you haven't forgotten what I said, have you?"
He said that everything of mine would be taken away, including women.
I secretly swore in my heart that I would never let Zander succeed.
I said to Leo, "Leo, this guy is getting more and more out of line. I will never let him harm Tabitha."
