Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 465

Ch. 465 / 840 May 06, 2026

Tabitha's POV

Upon hearing Derek's words, I fell silent, and my mind became filled with uncertainty about the future.

I felt like a nun in the church, seemingly devoid of desires for the earthly world, without love, or hatred.

Derek told me to study medicine, and I agreed.

I didn't have any particular preference. Whether it was studying medicine or studying business, both were fine.

Derek didn't get upset when he didn't receive a response from me. He held onto my earlobe and said earnestly, "Tabitha, I am different from you. In my eyes and my heart, the past and the future are all about you."

After a passionate moment, Derek planted a kiss on my forehead and then left gracefully.

I watched him leave with Tucker in silence. My mind was peaceful, too.

I didn't hate Derek, but I didn't have much affection for him either.

I was getting ready to leave Seattle. There didn't seem to be anything worth lingering here.

For the remaining days, Derek would leave home before dawn every day, but he would always come back home on time in the evening to have dinner with me. He would also accompany me to watch movies after dinner.

The flowers on the table were always new every day. His ring never left his hand, and his words and actions all revealed his love for me.

My wolf Crystal gently throbbed in my consciousness as if it could sense Derek's deep affection. It also had a special sensitivity to this kind of love as if urging me to respond to Derek's emotions.

The day before leaving, Derek hugged me and asked, "Tabitha, is there anything else you want to do? It's gonna take quite some time to study abroad."

I simply answered, "No."

I did not have the slightest hesitation or doubt.

Although this was the result he wanted, for some reason, I felt that Derek seemed a bit unsettled. However, he quickly concealed it and perhaps he silently reassured himself that everything would be fine.

In two years, when I finally adapted to the current life and the danger had been resolved, our family could reunite.

On the day of departure, it started snowing heavily again. Zola wiped her tears and reluctantly bid me farewell. I stuffed the gift that I had prepared long ago into her hands.

"Take care, Zola."

"Tabitha, you must take good care of yourself too," Zola said as she stuffed the gift into their pocket, tightly holding my hand. "Be good with Alpha Derek."

"Sure."

The car started, and I watched the villa gradually recede in the rearview mirror.

I heard that it was my marital home with Derek.

On the day I had to leave, surprisingly, I didn't feel a single trace of reluctance in my heart.

Wearing a thick down jacket, Zola stood at the intersection and waved at me. In no time, her head was covered in snowflakes as if she had instantly turned white-haired.

I couldn't help but fantasize, 'If my family were still alive, would they bid me farewell in the same way?'

In the VIP lounge at the airport, I flipped through a magazine and grabbed something to eat while having my headphones on.

I found that recently I had been experiencing stomachaches more frequently, so I dared not eat too spicy and also dared not go hungry.

I woke up too early this morning and didn't have time to eat breakfast. Now my stomach was hurting slightly.

Suddenly, Derek asked, "What's wrong?"

I was puzzled by why he asked that. Maybe I unintentionally revealed something unusual.

I answered, "I didn't have breakfast, so I have a bit of stomachache."

Derek seemed to recall something and asked, "Does it hurt a lot?"

As the boarding time was approaching, I didn't want any unexpected changes, so I shook my head and said, "No, just feeling a bit uncomfortable. I'm sure I will feel better after eating something."

Derek handed me a glass of water and said, "Have some water."

"Sure."

It was about time, so the two of us got up and boarded the plane.

As I was about to enter the boarding gate, a woman's voice came into my ears. "Derek, are you going to leave me behind?"

However, at the moment, there was some noise around, and I wasn't quite sure if someone was calling Derek.

I was just about to turn around when Derek pulled my head back.

"It seemed like someone was calling you."

"No, you heard it wrong."

I followed him out of the boarding gate and stood in front of the huge glass window. I couldn't help but turn around and take a glance.

It seemed like there was a woman in a wheelchair with tears streaming down her face, wanting to rush over, but she was stopped by someone.

"Was it her who called you?"

Derek answered expressionlessly, "No, let's go."

I didn't know what he was thinking, nor did I know what the relationship between that woman and him was. I just continued to follow him, but a hint of doubt unconsciously arose in my mind.

My wolf Crystal seemed to sense my unease in my consciousness as well, as it gently throbbed as if reminding me to be cautious of this unknown situation.

I silently said to the Crystal in my heart, "Don't worry. Maybe it's just a misunderstanding."

But my heart was still filled with questions. 'Who exactly was that woman?'
