Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 457

Ch. 457 / 840 May 06, 2026

Third person's POV

Standing in the underground garage, Zander looked at his phone with a sullen face, as he got a call from an unknown number.

He answered the call, his voice cold, "If it's some trifle, I advise you to keep your mouth shut."

"I'm calling to offer you a deal."

"Oh?"

"I know you've lost a lot of money over the years. I can offer you a deal worth a billion dollars. What do you say?"

"Enlighten me."

The person on the other end of the line said slowly, "Help me kill Tabitha, and I'll give you a billion."

Tabitha's POV

In Derek's office.

I looked at Derek and asked, "What's wrong? Did you find anything?"

Not long after Derek left, someone called me here.

Derek replied with a faint smile, "Not yet. But this farce is about to end. Would you wanna go watch a good show?"

I blinked, asking, "Can I?"

"Of course. The person who should apologize is not you, but them."

Later, after taking care of the company's affairs, Derek personally drove me to the seaside.

It was dusk now, and I could vaguely see the coastline. As I had an instinctive fear of the sea, I unconsciously became tense.

Derek knew about it, so he played soothing music, comforting me, "We'll be there soon."

"OK." I distracted myself by scrolling through my phone. But deep down, I felt a prickle of disquiet.

We soon arrived at the Sunset Mansion.

I ate later than usual today, and I felt a slight pain in my abdomen.

Derek saw me hesitate for a moment and quickly turned to ask me, "What's wrong?"

I knew Derek still had important things to do, so I held back and said, "It's fine, just a little cold. Let's go inside."

I had talked to Zola and knew that there was no major issue in my health in the past. But later, I got into early labor and suffered a setback. However, it had nothing to do with my abdomen.

So, I didn't take this pain seriously and followed Derek into the house.

But as soon as I got indoors, the warm air hit me head-on, carrying a strong smell of blood, which made me subconsciously cover my abdomen with a frown.

"Tabitha." Derek looked at me with concern, his hand gently resting on my back, as if wanting to offer me some comfort.

Not wanting him to be worried, I forced a smile and said, "I'm fine."

I looked up towards the living room, wanting to know where the smell of blood came from.

In the spacious living room stood several bodyguards, and on the floor lay a woman. My gaze first fell upon the woman's legs.

She had a pair of mechanical legs. The floor under her was covered in blood, making the scene look horrible and bloody.

At this time, a seemingly refined middle-aged man quickly stood up, greeting, "Alpha Derek, sorry about the mess. I was just teaching this despicable bitch a lesson just now."

The person speaking was Baldwin. Although he was in his mid-life, he had no greasy appearance or a big belly.

I guessed he must've been a very handsome man when he was young.

And if there were no blood stains on his white shirt and his hands, I would also think he was a very nice guy.

"And you must be the Luna of the Black Thorn Pack. Well, please..."

When Baldwin's gaze fell upon my face, he suddenly paused and instinctively glanced at the woman on the floor. But soon, he regained his composure, continuing, "Please take a seat."

I politely thanked him and asked, "Excuse me, can I have some water first?"

"Sure. This way, please."

As Baldwin passed by the woman who looked dying, he casually kicked her.

Soon, fruits, exquisite pastries, and various beverages were served.

I had some water and a few pieces of pastry, gradually feeling better.

At this time, Baldwin said to Derek with an apologetic look, "Alpha Derek, I truly had no idea that she targeted you and your Greenwood Group. About the losses she has caused you, I'm sincerely sorry. Please, name your price."

Although Baldwin was an elder, he was very humble in front of Derek.

Derek raised his hand to silence him, his eyes coldly glancing at the woman on the ground as he asked, "Is she dead?"

"No, no, no. Alpha Derek, without your order, I wouldn't dare to end her life."

"Wake her up. I've got some questions for her."

"Got it." Baldwin hurriedly nodded.

Although I felt it was somewhat cruel to do that to a woman, I knew Derek wasn't that kind of cruel man.

So, I just watched quietly without saying anything to stop it.

A basin of saltwater was poured onto this woman, and the intense pain helped her quickly regain consciousness.

"Ah!"

The woman screamed, and as she looked up, she saw me, who was sitting next to Derek.

I could see the fear and astonishment in her gaze.

And I was puzzled, wondering, 'Does she know us?

"Why did Derek bring me here?'

I subconsciously grabbed Derek's arm tightly. He seemed to sense my nervousness and gently patted my hand, signaling me to take it easy.

But my wolf also became restless in my mind, seemingly sensing the tension in the air.
