Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 474

Ch. 474 / 840 May 06, 2026

Andrea's POV

Derek's gaze became sharper. "What else do you know?"

I looked at him and said earnestly, "Given your reaction, it seems I've hit the nail on the head. I didn't mean anything by it. I was just purely to see you this time. But I have to tell you something. Our family has many flaws, such as being obsessive and single-minded. Once we fall in love with someone, it's for life. It's a double-edged sword. Your father and I never taught you how to love. I don't want you to repeat our mistakes. Love is never one-sided wishful thinking. The thing I regret most in my life is what I did to your father, which caused you irreparable pain."

I looked at Derek, with a whirlwind of emotions in my heart. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would one day say such words to him.

"I will take good care of her," Derek paused and spoke again. "Since you know Madam Rose, can you help me find out about Tabitha's background?"

"Oh?" I was somewhat surprised.

"She was not John's daughter, and the only person who knew the truth back then was Madam Rose. When she was in the country, someone repeatedly targeted Tabitha, and I suspect it was related to her biological family."

"I'll keep an eye out for you. Can I see her now?" I asked, my tone affectionate and with a hint of coquetry.

Derek acquiesced.

Tabitha had just finished taking a shower when she saw me sitting by the bed.

Just sitting there, I could feel her nervousness. She unconsciously straightened her body.

"Madam."

I waved to her. "Come here."

Tabitha walked over obediently, allowing me to scrutinize her.

I guessed she probably had her expectations set, perhaps fantasizing in her mind about how much money I would offer her to leave Derek.

"Sit here." I patted the seat beside me.

Tabitha sat down. "Madam, you can speak your mind. I am mentally prepared."

Upon hearing this, I smiled, "What do you think I would say?"

"I think you're just going to say some harsh words to make me leave your son. I'm not a suitable match for him, and the kind of werewolf you prefer is someone like Kelsey. I..."

Before she could finish, I covered my lips and laughed, "What you said is not what I wanted to say."

"So, what do you mean?"

I handed over a box. "Open it and take a look."

Tabitha probably thought it was something like a check that made her leave, but inside there was a sky-blue bracelet lying, and she was somewhat surprised.

Its purity was visibly evident, radiating a faint glow under the light, even more beautiful than the one on my hand.

"This..." "This symbolizes the future Luna of the Black Thorn Pack, bestowed upon me by the old Luna herself," I sighed. "This bracelet has bound me for life. Back then, I naively believed that if I became the Luna of the Black Thorn Pack, he would always return to me. But, as you can see, that's not how things turned out."

Tabitha looked down and saw a long scar on my wrist.

Noticing Tabitha's gaze, I nonchalantly revealed my wounds to her.

"Actually, it's not that easy to die from a wrist cut. I waited for him to come back, bleeding."

"Did he come back?" Tabitha asked.

I gave a bitter smile, "No, I watched my own blood slowly drain away. I waited until I passed out from blood loss, but he never came. Was I foolish?"

Tabitha gently held my hand and said, "You were not foolish. You just loved the wrong person. But now you have Derek, and you have a chance to start over."

I looked at Tabitha, surprised by her empathy and understanding. Perhaps Derek's choice was indeed the right one.
