Derek's POV
Noticing that neither of us was keen on having kids, Elliott seemed anxious. But since we weren't rushing into it, he couldn't exactly pressure us either.
A person as intelligent as him would definitely find a way from other aspects, so he temporarily changed the topic.
"Alright, if you don't want to have kids, then so be it. But speaking of time, my birthday is coming up soon. I haven't celebrated it since Erin passed away. This year, since you're here, we can have a proper party. I'll leave this to you, Tabitha."
Tabitha shook her head quickly when she heard this. "I don't think that's a good idea. With Mom around, not to mention the fact that I can't take over her role as the hostess, I just arrived here and I don't really understand these things. I definitely won't be able to do it well."
Celebrating Elliott's birthday was not as simple as finding a place to have a meal.
It was very troublesome, from entertaining guests to coordinating every detail.
The Thunder Pack was originally a big family, and if anything was not done well, wouldn't it be a laughingstock?
I frowned, "Grandpa, is it really necessary to have this birthday banquet? Can't we just have a meal together as a family?"
Just as I finished speaking, Elliott gave me a hard tap on the forehead. "You little brat, how many people live to see eighty? Who's to say I won't have to join Erin after this birthday celebration? Can't you even let me enjoy this?"
"Alright. This matter is settled. Come and have breakfast with me." The old man didn't give us a chance to argue at all, and forcefully dragged us to have breakfast.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, I whispered, "Alpha Elliott wants to announce your identity to everyone. From now on, you will be the Luna of the Black Thorn Pack and the Thunder Pack."
Tabitha frowned as if she didn't want to be the Luna at all.
"But Andrea was in her prime, so it was never my turn."
Seeing her repeatedly refuse anything related to the Black Thorn Pack, I patiently took Tabitha's hand and said, "Tabitha, my mother has been burdened by this Luna identity her whole life. She used to hold onto it tightly and has been lost for years. Now she has finally figured things out and won't use this identity to handle anything anymore. There's no one more fitting than you. Honestly, tell me, what are your concerns?"
Tabitha's face flickered with uncertainty. "I... I'm not sure. Even though we're married now, my past is a complete blank. We might have been close once, but to me, you're still somewhat of a stranger. So, I'm not ready for our relationship to move so fast."
"Tabitha, I can understand your feelings, but have you ever considered my position and situation? You're the one I love more than anything, and it breaks my heart that you don't remember me and keep pushing me away."
Tabitha stepped forward and wrapped her arms around me. "I'm sorry. I was only thinking about myself and didn't consider how you feel."
"Tabitha, I understand that it might take some time for you to accept me, and I'm willing to be patient. However, I hope that this process won't take too long. Do you understand?"
"Yes. I'm sorry."
I gently stroked her back and comforted her, "You don't need to apologize to me at any time. I won't put too much pressure on you, but you should also understand our family's situation. From now on, you are the rightful Luna of the Black Thorn Pack. I will take care of the external affairs, and you will take care of the household. We'll manage the family business together."
Tabitha lowered her head. "But I was afraid that I didn't do well enough."
I lifted her chin gently, making her meet my gaze. "As long as it's you doing it, everything will be fine. If there's any problem, I will handle it. You don't have to worry. Just consider Grandpa's birthday banquet as a trial."
My wolf also sensed my expectations and concerns in my consciousness.
It seemed to remind me to give Tabitha enough support and encouragement.
