Elena's POV
"We aren't here to hurt you, your highness; we are only here to bring you back to your pack," one of the rogues said to me from where he was standing.
"And who sent you?" I asked them with an inquisitive look because I knew that Alpha Darian would never send rogues behind me; in fact, rogues are considered enemies, and as far as I know, Alpha Darian hates rogues.
"We were sent by your mate, Alpha Darian," one of them said to me, and immediately I chuckled mockingly at them.
"Do you all think that I'm a fool?" I asked them with an inquisitive look.
"None of you was sent by Alpha Darian; I don't know who you people are or who sent you guys, but I'm not following anyone of you anywhere," I said to them, my voice filled with determination.
With that, they took a glance at each other before turning their gaze towards me while grinning wickedly.
"You are right, your highness; we weren't sent by Alpha Darian, but we were sent by someone close to him. The person only wants you to return to your pack because it's dangerous out here, but if you insist on staying here, we will have no other choice than to bring you along forcefully," one of the rogues said to me.
"And how are you planning to take me back forcefully?" I asked them while trying my best not to show them that I was afraid.
"It's obvious that you already know the answer to that question, your highness, and please keep that blade that you are holding before you hurt yourself with it," one of them said to me.
"If there's anyone getting hurt by this blade today, it's you guys," I said to them while showing them the sword.
"Why don't you show us how you are going to do that?" one of them said to me before bringing out his claws, and immediately I swallowed hard.
With that, he hollowed at me before dashing towards me. As he was speedily approaching me, I held on tightly to my sword while waiting for him to get near me before I would attack. He was just some meters away from me when two arrows came out from nowhere and pierced him into one of the trees.
Once the others saw what had just happened, they became frightened. Immediately, I started looking around to see where the arrow came from. Even I was frightened because I couldn't see the person who shot the arrow, and I couldn't catch a scent either.
As the rogues were still looking around in fright, two arrows came out from nowhere again, but this time one of them dodged it, but it pierced the person behind him.
"Show yourself, you coward; if you aren't afraid of dying, show yourself," one of the rogues screamed angrily while looking around in confusion.
After some seconds of silence, someone jumped down from one of the trees behind.
Once I saw him, my jaws dropped in awe. Without realizing it, I exclaimed, "Wow," because of how handsome he is; I mean, he was the real definition of the word handsome. He was tall, but not too tall; he had long white hair that covered his face. To be sincere, I have never seen a werewolf with such long hair before; even we she-wolves struggle very hard to keep our hair long and shiny like his, and in addition to that, he was shirtless, displaying his broad shoulders and muscles. I don't know how to say this, but he looked like a descendant of the moon goddess.
I was still lost in thoughts while admiring him when suddenly his sweet, angelic voice brought me back to reality.
"I'm really disappointed in you guys, five rogues against one she-wolf, and the worst part of it all is that she's my mate," he said to them, and immediately the three rogues looked at each other surprisedly, and to be sincere, I too was surprised. Did he just call me his mate, or am I dreaming?
"I will give you guys a choice; it's either you run or you finish like your two friends lying lifelessly over there," he said to the three, who took a glance at each other before chuckling wickedly at him.
"Allow us to give you a choice too; it's either you stay out of our way so that we can take her to who sent us or we will break your bones," one of the rogues threatened him.
"I think I will take the second choice; come break my bones," he said to them, and immediately two of the rogues hollowed at him angrily before running towards him.
As the both of them were approaching him, he immediately shifted into his wolf form. What was strange about him is that it didn't even take him up to a minute to shift, while other werewolves take at least two minutes or three before shifting, and the shifting process is a little painful, but he didn't react like someone who felt any pain while shifting.
When the two rogues noticed how fast he shifted and how huge his wolf was, they tried backing off, but it was already too late; both of his huge palms were already on the faces of the two rogues, with his sharp claws piercing into their heads. Facing the third rogue, he kept on squeezing the faces of the rogues as if he wanted to crush them. All their efforts to break free proved abortive as he kept tightening his huge palm against their faces, and in no time, just like someone crushing an egg, he crushed their heads before leaving them to fall to the ground heedlessly. Before he could raise his head to look at the third rogue, he had already taken his hill.
With that, he turned and started approaching me, but with what I just saw, fear had already gripped me, and as he was approaching, I kept moving backwards until I got blocked by a tree.
With my heart raising heavily, I kept on watching him as he was approaching me. Once he approached me, he raised his hand up like someone who was about to strike someone, and immediately I swallowed hard before closing my eyes while awaiting my fate.
