Elena's POV
Once I jerked up from my slumber and saw the two werewolves standing right in front of me and the other still maintaining his sword on my neck, I started trembling in fear.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" The voice of the second werewolf echoed angrily.
"I-I-I," I kept stuttering while thinking of what I was going to tell them. I couldn't possibly tell them who I am or from which pack I came, and the worst part of it all was that I don't even know in which pack I am or if they are rival packs with ours.
"I told you that she's one of them; can't you see that she's trying to lie to us?" the one who was pressing his sword against my neck whispered to the other, who glared angrily at me, and immediately I swallowed hard. Possibly they were mistaking me for someone else who had done something bad to them in the past.
"Well, if they thought that the same thing they did to us the other time was going to work on us again, then I'm sorry to say this; they just made a very big mistake," he said to me, his eyes burning in anger.
"Get up," he commanded me, and without hesitating, I stood up. Immediately, he brought out a rope from his bag, tied my two hands together, and started dragging me along with them while the other one took my luggage with him.
After walking for some minutes, they brought me to their pack. I won't actually call that a pack because it didn't have enough population to make up a pack; it was just a small village composed of a small population of werewolves, old and young, living in huts.
As they were dragging me from behind, I could clearly see the angry stare of the pack members as they were staring at me in disdain, as if they had known me in the past, and I did something terrible to them and escaped. With all these thoughts running through my mind, my heart kept on pounding heavily as I kept on thinking of what they were going to do to me.
After dragging me like a criminal for what seemed like forever, they finally stopped in front of a huge tree. Around the tree, I could see dried-up blood splashing around the tree, and beside the tree was a long silver chain. Once I saw the tree, the first thing that came to mind was sacrifice. It looked like a place where they used to make sacrifices. Without saying a word to me, one of the werewolves pushed me down and took the silver chain. He was about to tie me to the tree when I immediately pushed him away, knowing what the silver chain would do to me once it touched my skin. Once I pushed him away, I tried getting up, but I immediately felt a cold metal pressing against my neck once again, and this time around, I didn't think twice before knowing that it was a sword.
"You dare make any move again, and I swear through the moon goddess, I will cut your head off," the werewolf threatened me angrily.
"But I'm..." I tried explaining to him that I'm pregnant and I'm not the person they are mistaking me for, but he cut me off before I could even finish talking.
Afterwards, he ordered the werewolf who I had pushed away to come and tie me up, and without hesitating, he approached me, held me tightly against the tree, and started tying me to the tree with the silver chain.
Once the silver chain came in contact with my skin, I felt an agonizing pain through out my whole skin, and in no time the silver chain started burning through my skin, and immediately I started groaning in pain. Meanwhile, the other werewolves looked at me with no emotion, some laughing, others murmuring some words among themselves.
After tying me to the tree, the werewolf, who had threatened to cut off my head if I made any other move, turned to the pack members and proceeded.
"Some months ago, this was exactly the same tactics that some rogues used against us; they sent a spy among us who disguised herself as a helpless weak she-wolf, and we don't even know how she managed to hide her rogue scent; without trying to find out who she is, we took her in and took care of her as if she were one of us. It's a good thing that you all know how it ended, and today they have still done the same thing; possibly they have thought that we have forgotten about that, and that's why they sent another spy once again in order for them to know our battle formations and weaknesses," he said to them.
"I'm not a rogue," I growled in the midst of pain and agony as the silver chains were burning through my skin, but they didn't even react as if I were talking to them.
"Just like the other rogues of her kind, we are going to execute in front of this tree of remembrance, the tree that holds the memory of all our brothers that were killed by rogues," he said to them before turning his gaze towards me as I was still groaning in pain.
"Justice to our brothers!" he cheered, and immediately the others started cheering with him.
After some minutes of groaning, I started feeling weak, and my vision started becoming blurry as I slowly started passing out. The last thing I could see was the werewolf approaching me with an axe while the voices of others that were cheering were sounding like they were emerging from a background.
With my blurry vision, I could see him raising the axe, and at the same time, the cheering of the other werewolf kept on getting deeper and deeper.
Before he could lower the axe toward my neck, I passed out.
