"I will take you to my brother."
I smiled internally. I almost jumped with joy at the news. I mean, finding Dark Flame Pack was already difficult as it is but with Estrella, I'm sure that now the journey will be interesting.
"That's so sweet of you, Estrella, thank you," I muttered.
Deep down, I just couldn't wait to be in Dark Flame. I can't wait to see Melody and my kids.
Even though Estrella still isn't aware of the reason why I want to visit Dark Flame, she seems enthusiastic about the journey.
The girl is a nice girl with outstanding beauty too, but her beauty pales when compared to Melody's.
But I can say for a fact that they have similar traits. Estrella is also gentle and easygoing. She cares for others a lot more than she does for herself.
However, I want Melody only.
No matter how similar Estrella is to Melody, I can't be with her which brings me to the thought of the spark that happens every time I touch her.
I'm sure she feels the same way I do. I'm sure she feels the same way I do.
Estrella has been trying to talk but I never gave room for such discussion. I mean, what do I have to talk to her about?
I can't be mated to her. I just can't.
There's no way the goddess would do that to me. She couldn't possibly punish me by separating me from Melody after making me love her so much.
"Taking you to Dark Flame is a pleasure," she smiled and stared into space. "Because I also get to go back home after so long."
Malcolm cleared his throat and asked the exact thing on my mind.
"How long have you been away from home?"
She went a few steps away from us and stopped in front of the wall.
"Honestly," she turned around and looked at us. "It's been a long time since I left home."
The loneliness in her eyes was clear evidence of how much she missed her family. Why did she leave If she misses them so much?
"Why? Why did you leave?"
Even though I do not care what happens in Dorian's family. I just want to find out all there is to know about him.
There has to be a reason why Estrella would have to leave her family. The girl is so sweet, she wouldn't have left without a valid reason.
Or could she have been sent away from home, just like Melody? But why?
She didn't look like she's had a kid. Besides, not every parent would be cruel enough to send their kids away when they need them the most. Not everyone is as cruel as Viscount Maximus.
"It's a long story," she sighed. "A very….long story."
Malcolm seems curious to know more just as I am. I want to find out everything that happened and why she's so far away from her pack. Her home. Yet, his so-called righteous brother did nothing to bring her back.
"Well," Malcolm paused. "If you don't mind telling us, we do not mind listening."
I nod in affirmation. I do not mind listening.
“Uh…. I made a mistake, and my father….” Estrella paused and turned away.
It was obvious that whatever happened to her in the past still hurt her so much. She wiped her tears and shook her head.
“I’m sorry,” she forced a smile. “Maybe some other time.”
Without waiting further, she left the room. Even though I felt extremely bad for having to put her through so much pain by asking her to revisit her past. However, curiosity was eating me up.
Dorian seemed like a saint who wouldn’t stand by and watch any injustice being done to anyone. Which makes me wonder why he didn’t do anything when his sister was suffering. Why didn’t he try to help her when she was sent away from the pack?
What exactly happened?
Malcolm was also eager to know what happened. He probably wants this so he’d know the kind of man his sister’s mate is. Or probably to repay Estrella for her help. Whatever his reasons are. I only want to know the full story so that I have a way to know who Dorian is and how to get my family back from him.
“Prepare for the journey,” I told Malcolm.
“I’ll do that right away.”
Malcolm paused as the doctor came in at this moment. “Are you leaving?” he asked.
“Yes doctor,” I chose to answer his question instead. “We have to leave as soon as possible.”
The doctor’s smile slowly transformed into worry. “I know you are all healed and hearty. But I think you should stay off the sea for a few days.”
Stay for a few days? Is he kidding me?
I have wasted a lot of time as it is. Delaying for another minute could be critical for my future. Even though the doctor wasn’t aware of the reason why I so badly wanted to go Dark Flame, I felt like slapping him hard across his face.
“Why?” I asked instead of going physical with him.
“Well,” he paused and scratched his cheek. “There’s no reason in particular. Except that, I want you to give your body a chance to heal properly.
“Thanks for caring so much,” I nod, putting utmost effort into trying not to sound cynical. “But, we have important work pending in Dark Flame.”
“But….” The doctor became mum after seeing my glare.
“Could you help us with another ship?” I demanded instead.
“Definitely,” he affirmed and immediately left the room.
Great. Now, my journey is set. We’ll set sail at dawn.
I returned to my room to prepare for the next day’s journey. However, as soon as I opened the door to my room, I smelled a strange scent. The room was allocated to me after I recovered and insisted on leaving the hospital and I stayed there for three days. Where did this strange scent come from?
“What are you doing in my room?” I hissed as I saw who it was.
She smiled and came closer to me. “I’m here to talk about our bond.”
