Third person's POV
Tabitha was sent to the hospital again for checks that day. Kamp glanced at the cancer spectrum and various CT and MRI data that came out.
Orson's brows furrowed tighter as he looked, "The chemotherapy she underwent two years ago was very effective, but this time the effect is minimal. The cancer cells have begun to invade other surrounding tissues. Tabitha's body can't withstand chemotherapy anymore. It will only increase her physical burden and accelerate her death."
This statement was almost a death sentence for Tabitha. Derek clenched a corner of his shirt behind his back.
"What about her..."
Orson shook his head, "For some unknown reason, her cancer cells are spreading faster and faster. If this continues, Tabitha has at most a month left. If the situation is bad, perhaps only half a month..."
Derek felt his world go black, nearly fainting on the spot. She had only half a month to a month or even less.
Orson patted Derek's shoulder, "You've done your best. It's not what we wanted for her to end up like this. In the last days, just accompany her well."
Tabitha fell into a coma, unable to eat, and could only rely on nutrient solutions to replenish her strength.
Derek quietly stayed by her side, his eyes rimmed with red.
She had long said she wouldn't live long. Why didn't he believe her? Why did he push her to this point?
No matter how sad and regretful he felt, it couldn't change anything.
"Tabitha..."
Tabitha didn't move at all. Except for the rise and fall of her chest, she looked as if she were dead. Derek was almost scared to death several times when he saw this.
She was once healthy. How did she become like this in such a short time?
Derek slapped himself hard on the face, "It's all my fault!"
Tabitha heard it and slowly opened her eyes. When she first woke up and saw Derek, he was a pride noble man.
But now, there was some blue stubble on Derek's chin that hadn't been shaved, his clothes were wrinkled, and his eyes were red as he stood there, looking as helpless as a child.
Seeing her wake up, Derek hurried over, "Tabitha, how are you feeling?"
"Am I going to die?" Tabitha felt even weaker than before.
Derek firmly held her hand and shook his head, "No, you won't."
She sneered, "You're not the God. How do you know I won't die?"
Derek was speechless. He just held Tabitha's hand tightly.
He used to say that he would never let Tabitha leave unless she died.
It seemed to have come true. Tabitha's life was drawing to a close.
"Tabitha, would you like to regain your memory?"
"So it was you who tampered with my memory?"
Derek held her body, "I'm sorry. I loved you too much."
Tabitha had lost a lot of weight in a week. There was hardly any flesh left in his arms, just skin and bones. Derek felt terrible for her.
"Derek, let me regain my memory. I don't want to leave this world in confusion."
"Love or hate, you have no right to control me."
Derek was silent for a moment, "Alright."
As the sky darkened, in a garden full of thorny roses, Megan in a navy-blue dress was lazily fanning herself.
A female voice sounded, "You're really comfortable here. With spring all year round, even the Moon Goddess can't find you."
Megan turned to look, and under the moonlight stood a woman in a cloak.
The cloak opened to reveal Andrea.
They have a resemblance in their facial features.
"It's been a long time, Megan."
