Third person's POV
Derek looked at Elena as if she were a monster.
The wolf in his mind voiced its confusion, "Why doesn't she scream? Why is she so calm?"
Elena reached out her other hand to touch Derek's face. She even smiled.
"Alpha Derek, you hurt more than I do, don't you?"
"Why did you do this? Tabitha was so nice, why did you hurt her?"
"No reason. I just hate her, to the bone."
The influence of a Luna on a pack was significant.
The former Luna, Andrea, was controlled by drugs and became mad and paranoid, leading Elena and Derek to a certain extent to madness just like their Luna.
"Even now you still won't repent!"
Derek swiftly severed the tendons of her right hand as well, blood splattering across Elena's face.
Yet she smiled brightly, "No matter what you do to me, she will never come back."
Andrea didn't expect Derek to dare to injure Elena's hands so severely in such a short time.
She pushed Derek with all her might, only to meet Elena's smiling face.
"Crazy! Both of you are crazy! Doctor! Where's the doctor?"
Andrea hurried to check the injury on Elena's hand and lifted her sleeve. But she then saw the scars on Elena's arms.

Her eyes reddened. What did this poor girl have been through outside?
Seeing the fresh wounds still bleeding on Elena's hand, Andrea stood up and slapped Derek.
"What have you done? She's your childhood friend, you jerk!"
Derek also saw those scars. He had heard that Elena was taken to an inferior pack by the rogue and lived a life worse than death.
That's why he felt pity for her and let her go again and again.
But it wasn't Tabitha who made her there. It wasn't Tabitha who caused her suffering. Why should she transfer all her suffering onto Tabitha?
Tabitha was innocent.
Derek took the slap and said heavily, "Alvin, break her legs."
He couldn't do it himself.
Andrea looked at him with red eyes, "Are you insane? You want to make her a cripple, what will she do in the future?"
Derek looked at the bloody bed and sneered coldly, "Tabitha doesn't have a future, why should she?"
Tabitha got a severe illness at such a young age. He could have discovered it earlier, but Elena interfered. She was turning their relationship step by step into what it is now.
She's pitiful, but should Tabitha pay for her life?
"Mom, this is what she owes Tabitha. She can never repay it in a lifetime."
Moreover, Elena has blood on her hands. What he did was actually lenient.
Andrea desperately protected her, "It's all because I didn't do a good job as a Luna before. It was my fault. She is the daughter of Beta; I will bear the punishment for her. Break my legs, instead."
Elena looked at Andrea in surprise. Didn't she hate herself very much? Why would she say such a thing?
