Third person's POV
Derek had been trying for a long time to extract information from Alpha Elliott but to no avail.
According to various sources, Shana was believed to have sought refuge near the Black Thorn Pack, using a false identity. However, she disappeared during the chaos that ensued.
Derek was growing increasingly frustrated as Jasper had yet to hear any news. If this continued, Tabitha would be a dead end, the only difference being whether she died sooner or later.
However, the past few days had not been entirely fruitless. When Derek arrived in the dark room, Zander was barely clinging to life.
He was covered in blood, and it seemed Rolf had shown no mercy in his attempts to extract information from Zander.
"Alpha Derek, Zander has confessed that he has known Bloodrose for a couple of years. Although they've never met in person, Bloodrose has aided him on several occasions, all of which were related to acquiring shares of the Greenwood Group."
"No wonder Zander had so many shares. It turns out that he has influential backing. This person is willing to spend billions to buy Tabitha's life, which suggests an immense financial capacity."
Rolf also nodded in agreement. "Yes, just Ambrose's industries alone couldn't support Zander's actions. But I find it odd. If Elena is truly Bloodrose and has ill intentions toward Tabitha, why would she spend money to help Zander? She should despise Zander even more, right?"
"Elena is not Bloodrose," Derek denied firmly. "She spent years disguised as a janitor by my side, never causing me any harm. If she intended to, she could have easily poisoned me or leaked the Greenwood Group's sensitive data to our rivals. She was in a position to topple the Greenwood Group in a hundred different ways. So why would she go to such lengths and spend a fortune to support someone as seemingly useless as Zander?"
"That makes sense. So now we can confirm one thing. The person targeting Tabitha is a woman. Judging from her silhouette, she resembles Elena in height and build, likely under thirty, indicating a young woman."
Rolf stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Why would a young woman harbor such murderous intent toward Tabitha, and even be willing to pay a hefty sum for her life?"
"What other clues did Zander have?"
"Oh, by the way, after his last failure back home, Bloodrose proactively reached out to him, suggesting he seize the chance to eliminate Tabitha. Zander is not a fool either. Once he realized he was busted, he quickly left."
"So this woman didn't hesitate to spend two or three years and a bunch of money just to get close to Zander. Taking me down was secondary. What really mattered was that his position gave him the chance to get close to Tabitha, allowing him to strike without anyone noticing."
Rolf felt a chill run down his spine. "This person is terrifying. She has been plotting for a couple of years already! But Zander had ulterior motives. He was too preoccupied with how to conquer Tabitha to make a move on her life."
Derek shot him a sharp look, and Rolf quickly slapped himself across the face.
"Sorry, I misspoke. It's that disgusting Zander who's trying to take Tabitha for himself. Alpha Derek, what are you going to do about him?"
"Bloodrose will definitely be on guard and won't get involved with him. You trace back their past connections, and no matter how careful they've been, you'll be able to uncover some issues."
"Yes, Alpha Derek."
Rolf noticed his bloodshot eyes and advised, "You've been looking after Tabitha for the past few days, so you need to rest up first. It's only when you're back to full strength that you can protect her effectively. I worry that Tabitha might react the same way Mrs. Sutton did before she left if someone uses this incident to provoke her..."
"The hospital is crowded and chaotic, which can lead to problems. You take care of the discharge paperwork and bring Tabitha back home."
"Okay, Alpha Derek."
