Third person's POV
After a week in the hospital, Tabitha checked out.
She had recovered enough to move around on her own. But her red and white blood cell counts were critically low.
She felt dizzy every day. She was too weak.
However, leaving the hospital was a relief for her.
Tabitha returned to the Greenwood family's villa. Jenny pushed her wheelchair and said, "Luna Tabitha, Alpha Derek has specially prepared a room for you on the first floor. It's right next to the courtyard. You can rest and recover here. Everything will get better."
"Okay."
Derek, probably afraid of stimulating her, hadn't shown up in front of Tabitha for the past few days.
But Tabitha knew he often secretly came in when she was asleep and left quietly when she woke up.
She didn't understand the point of this, especially since he had his own family.
However, not seeing him did make Tabitha feel a bit better.
The first thing she wanted to do was to take a good shower.
Jenny had taken meticulous care of her during the week in the hospital.
Tabitha picked up a comb to tidy her messy hair.
With one stroke, her hair fell out densely, and the comb was entangled with a bunch.
Seeing the hair on the washstand and the comb, Tabitha was shocked.
She had been in so much discomfort these days that she almost forgot about the side effects of chemotherapy, the most severe of which was hair loss.
Generally, after two treatments, all her hair would fall out entirely. Which woman doesn't want to be beautiful?
Tabitha looked at her haggard self in the mirror.
Soon, even if she didn't die, she would probably become bald.
She picked up tissues to clean up the fallen hair, trying to pretend nothing had happened.
As the water from the shower hit her, her hair continued to fall, and her head felt heavy. She could only slowly lean against the wall and sit down.
Scenes flashed through her mind. She saw her past self.
She was being tied up in the bathroom by Derek, who repeatedly doused her with a shower. In the cold winter, the icy water drenched her from head to toe. The chill was invading her body, making her miserable.
She heard herself begging Derek to let her go, but all she received was his increasingly indifferent attitude.
Although it happened a long time ago, Tabitha could still feel that chill.
It was so cold. Tears slowly streamed down her cheeks.
She didn't understand why Derek was so cruel to her.
There came a knock on the door. Jenny worriedly asked, "Luna Tabitha, how are you doing? Do you need me to help you?"
Tabitha held back her tears and said, "No, I'll be fine soon."
She came out dressed, but her hair was still wet as if she had just emerged from a swimming pool.
Jenny quickly brought over a hairdryer, "How can you not dry your hair? What if you catch a cold? Luna, you're very fragile now. You can't catch a cold. It would be very dangerous if you have a fever."
As she spoke, she turned on the hairdryer. Tabitha's long hair scattered and fell. This scene was quite scary.
Jenny finally understood why Tabitha hadn't dried her hair. With one blow-dry, the floor was covered in fallen hair.
"Emm, this is normal. Luna, don't worry. The hair will grow back slowly after the treatment stops."
Tabitha gave a faint smile, "Keep drying, it will fall off sooner or later anyway."
"Okay."
After washing her hair this time, Tabitha felt like she had lost almost a third of it. It was obviously less when she held it.
But if she couldn't even save her life, what did a few strands of hair matter?
