Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 595

Ch. 595 / 840 May 06, 2026

Third person's POV

Tabitha had been resting well for a few days, and her physical indicators were gradually improving.

Orson could visibly see that her complexion was much better than before.

"Tabitha, are you accustomed to being here?" Orson asked.

"Yes, everything is fine. Dora takes care of me in every possible way. I am very happy here," Tabitha replied.

The most important thing was that she no longer had to live under Derek's control, nor did she have to worry about being assassinated.

In the illnesses she suffered, most of the roots lay in her mental distress.

When the mind is shackled, the body also falls into the quagmire of illness.

However, once the heavy burden in the heart is let go, diseases seem to see the dawn in the dark.

"I'm glad you're getting used to it. Dora is a warm-hearted girl. If you have any needs, you can just let her know," Orson said.

"Thank you both, I will always remember your kindness. If I have a future, I will definitely repay you," Tabitha expressed her gratitude.

"Tabitha, don't be so formal with us. We never expected you to repay us. Come, sit down and talk slowly," Orson gestured for her to sit.

Tabitha sat down and said, "What do you want to tell me? Has Derek discovered anything?"

She knew Derek was suspicious. These days, she had cut off all contact with the outside world. Without a body, she was afraid Derek would find out.

"Don't be afraid, he hasn't discovered anything. He stayed at sea for three whole days, diving personally to search for you. He held the funeral only after he completely gave up hope," Orson reassured her.

Theodora snorted coldly, "What's the point of a funeral when the person is gone? Why didn't he cherish Tabitha when she was alive?"

Orson continued, "I also attended the funeral. Derek looked haggard and thin. He brought a woman to kneel in front of your photo at the funeral. He was very ruthless. The woman's head was covered in blood after kowtowing, and later he made her kneel together with him. The woman fainted after kneeling for a few hours, while Derek knelt for a day and a night."

Tabitha didn't speak. Derek was stubborn. If he really thought she was dead, this was indeed something he could do.

"Later, I heard from a colleague that the woman was very miserable. Not long after she woke up, Derek crippled her hands and feet, turning her into a complete invalid," Orson said.

"Damn, is Derek a pervert? How can he take his bad mood out on others?" Theodora complained, patting Tabitha's hand, "Thank goodness you left. He might beat you one day."

Tabitha had already guessed that the person was Elena. She was a bit surprised when she heard this.

After all, to Derek, the most important thing was the responsibility of the pack. Between herself and Elena, he unhesitatingly chose Elena.

Now, thinking she was dead, he was willing to be ruthless with this childhood sweetheart finally.

But what was the use?

He wasn't there when she needed him the most, subjecting her to cold violence day and night.

When she was trying to clear her father's name and restore her reputation, she wished Derek could stand by her side that much.

From beginning to end, what she wanted was understanding and support. But he was blind and chose to protect Elena, knowing what she had done.

Love, if it came at the wrong time, was as worthless as cheap weeds.

No matter how he made up for it or repented now, it was too late and had nothing to do with her.

Tabitha just faintly commented, "She deserved it."

Elena deserved it, and Derek deserved it even more.

If it weren't for him and Elena, her father's Silver Moon Pack wouldn't have become what it is today.

Elena was just disabled, but John lost his life.

They brought it upon themselves.
