Third person's POV
Kamp had been busy with Tabitha's affairs and finally uncovered a top-secret piece of news.
His assistant approached with a bottle, "Kamp, Andrea sent this. She wants you to test what kind of dog food it is."
"Dog food?" Kamp glanced at the bottle. It was too small to hold dog food. What kind of dog can be so small-appetite with such little dog food?
"It might be some kind of dog supplement. They can't determine it, so they asked you to test it."
"Alright, leave it there. I'll test it later. I have important matters now."
"Okay."
Kamp hurriedly left and found Derek, who looked a bit haggard, "Alpha Derek, the latest news is that Jasper's team has been conducting cancer research. Before this, he had already developed a new type of anti-cancer drug. Over the past two years, hundreds of cancer patients have taken it. But so far, he has only conducted phase one clinical trials, and the sample data is far from sufficient."
"How are the patients doing?"
"In almost two to three years, the conditions of those in phases I, II, and III have stabilized. The cancer spectrum data has reached normal values."
Derek's heart tightened, "What about the advanced stages?"
"For the advanced stages, the survival rate is currently fifty percent. Half of the people are still alive, and half have passed away. As you know, the most important index of cancer is the five-year survival rate. And the longest we've observed is not yet three years, so the data isn't very accurate. What we can be sure of is that taking this drug before the middle and advanced stages is very effective. But for the advanced stage..."
Derek's eyes dimmed instantly. Kamp quickly added, "Alpha Derek, don't worry. The probability of advanced-stage patients living for three to five years is very low. There is no drug on the market that can let more than fifty percent of advanced-stage patients live for more than three years. This largely indicates that his drug is very potent. As long as we find this drug, it should be able to extend Tabitha's life. Besides, the side effects of this drug are far less than those of radio chemotherapy."
"Can we get it from Poison and Wolf Shadow?" Derek's heart also held a glimmer of hope.
"The information I received is that the original drugs were destroyed before they hastily moved their base last time. The formula is in Jasper's. Once he left, the drug disappeared."
Derek's eyes turned, "No, find those test subjects and get the drug from them."
"Right, that's what I thought. So I've already sent people to find the list of test subjects. It might take some time. I came to tell you this good news first. During this period, you cannot stimulate Tabitha anymore. We must find a way to extend her life. With this drug, Tabitha can live at least a year more. When Jasper comes out of the snow mountain, we might really have hope to cure Tabitha."
Derek suddenly felt hopeful, as well, "Tell Alvin to send more people and find the test subjects as soon as possible."
"Yes, Alpha Derek, please rest assured and don't wear yourself out."
Just as Kamp left, Andrea approached again.
"Kiddo, where have you been?"
"What happened to Tabitha?"
"Her condition is not right. She sees certain things and it stimulates her to think of the past. This back and forth, living in stimulation, is not conducive to her condition at all."
Andrea bit her lip and said, "I think it's the M-1 you gave her. She also has a brain tumor. I don't know if it's related to these, can you give her the antidote to let her recover her memory on her own? Otherwise, those fragments of memory will tear her apart. She's already suffering physically after chemotherapy, and now with a double blow to her mental state, how is she supposed to live?"
Derek's face turned pale. "Let her regain her memory..."
