Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 598

Ch. 598 / 840 May 06, 2026

Third person's POV

Derek responded along with his thoughts, "I see."

"Tabitha has left. What are your plans for the next step?" Orson asked.

Derek was brilliant. He quickly understood why Orson's here. He was not here to fetch something was a pretense. He was here to test Derek's reaction on behalf of Tabitha.

It must have been the deep psychological impact of the things Derek had done to Tabitha in the past that made her live in constant fear.

Derek then said, "I originally sent Tabitha here to start a new life. But it seems we didn't make it in time. I will be returning to Seattle soon."

Since she was afraid of him, he would leave.

Orson quickly asked, "When do you plan to leave?"

Feeling that his question came off as too eager, Orson quickly explained, "We've known each other. I wanted to see you and Tabitha off."

"Tomorrow. Dr. Romero. You are welcome."

After Orson left, Rolf asked in confusion, "Alpha Derek, with Tabitha having just completed her second round of chemotherapy, are you really okay with leaving at this time?"

Derek lit a cigarette, leaned against the porch, and said seriously, "Do you really think he came to see me off?"

Alvin chimed in, "I'm afraid Tabitha, not trusting Alpha Derek, specially sent Orson to inquire. Alpha Derek said that on purpose to reassure Tabitha."

Rolf then understood Derek's intentions. He wanted Tabitha to live without worries or pressure.

The next day at noon, Orson indeed arrived on time.

He and Derek didn't have much interaction. Given Derek's naturally cold demeanor, there wasn't much conversation between them.

It wasn't until the boarding time that Derek, accompanied by Rolf and Alvin, entered the security checkpoint and disappeared from sight. Only then did Orson breathe a sigh of relief and immediately headed to the villa.

Tabitha lay in bed, unable to move, with Theodora and the housekeeper taking meticulous care of her.

"How is she today?" Orson asked.

Theodora looked worried, "She's not good. Her physical condition is poor. But she insisted on eating a few times, only to vomit shortly after. Even so, Tabitha hasn't given up. She truly wants to live."

A trace of heartache appeared in Orson's eyes, "She is too eager to live."

"I thought after all the stimulations Tabitha has received, she would give up on her life."

"There is still hope for her to live," Orson's lips curled up, "People are no different from weeds. As long as there is hope, they will certainly be reborn from the dead. I came to tell her some good news."

He opened the door to find Tabitha extremely weak. Although exhausted, the pain in Tabitha's body kept her from sleeping.

Upon hearing the door open, she immediately opened her eyes and looked over, "Dr. Romero, you're here."

Orson quickly said, "Lie down. I'm here to tell you some good news."

"Is there news from Derek?"

"Yes, Derek has returned to Seattle. I confirmed it at the airport myself. I watched him enter the security checkpoint. He should be on the plane by now."

Hearing this news, Tabitha felt the dark cloud that had been hovering over her head dissipate at this moment.

He was gone.

She was finally free.

"Tabitha, this is a new phone I bought for you. It's in someone else's name. He will never be able to trace it back to you."

Tabitha nodded with a smile, "Thank you, Dr. Romero. Can you help me inquire about someone else?"

"Sure, who is it?."

"Jasper. He is now in the snow mountain. If he comes out, he should be able to cure me."

"Alright, I will have my friends help you. Rest assured."
