Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 496

Ch. 496 / 840 May 06, 2026

Derek's POV

Andrea gazed at me intently for a moment and then let out a sigh helplessly, "You are truly his son, with the same determination. But aren't you scared of what could go wrong? If anything happens, even a tiny accident, it could be the end for all of us in this car!"

"Mom, do you really think I would let Tabitha walk into danger? That person is too cunning, operating from abroad yet wielding immense power. Every time I get close, all I find are scapegoats. As long as that person is alive, Tabitha is in constant danger. Do you understand? Every time I close my eyes, I can't help but think of those two children, so young, lifeless from the moment they were born. Even their bodies were never found..."

I gazed at the distant courtyard, where birds perched on branches, chirping and singing freely.

However, they were unaware that a snake had silently slithered up the branch behind them, its jaws gaping, poised to strike with lethal precision.

I clutched the table's edge, my fingers digging in, my love for the children every bit as fierce as Tabitha's.

I longed day and night to see my children as soon as possible.

I never imagined that after all the anticipation and waiting, I'd be left with this outcome. Despite my meticulous planning, I stumbled at the final hurdle.

I swallowed the pain of losing my children alone, and I dared not show a trace of it in front of Tabitha, lest it disturb her own fragile emotions.

But in the solitude of the night, when all was quiet and no one was around, I tossed and turned, watching over and over again the simple video of the babies still in Tabitha's womb.

Even seeing babies in strollers on the street would cause me to zone out for a moment. I harbored this grudge deep within my heart, not a single day passed without the desire for revenge.

This time, that person actually dared to make a move. I had weighed the options carefully.

Given how cautious that person was, the people I sent must be the best of the best, with a strong sense of counter-surveillance.

After much deliberation, I made this decision. I was using this opportunity to lull the enemy into a false sense of security.

I made him mistakenly believe that we had fallen into the trap.

In fact, I had already made adequate preparations and switched the route to the less crowded and wider Seaside Road.

When we got in the car, the other party probably got the celebration drinks ready.

Andrea asked seriously, "So, what is happening now?"

"That guy's pretty cunning, always hanging around downtown. He probably wants to avoid being tailed. But Alvin's been on his tail the whole time, so it looks like the net's about to close in."

I had a hunch that if we could catch this guy, we'd definitely find something.

The person who took action this time had the same build and gait as the one who pushed Kyrian down the stairs before.

That meant I had kept Kyrian's identity hidden for all these years, even Daphne was in the dark, yet that person somehow discovered it.

His target was clearly Tabitha and Kyrian.

Why? What deep grudge did Tabitha have against him?

My phone vibrated, and it was another message from Alvin.

"Mom, I'll go out for a while."

I immediately got up and took a few steps when I heard Andrea casually call out, "Jenny."

Then, a woman in a maid's outfit appeared and stood respectfully beside her, greeting politely, "Madam."

"Keep an eye on Tabitha. This isn't Seattle. Things are complicated and not as simple as they seem."

"Got it."

Although I had already left, I could picture Andrea assigning Jenny to look after Tabitha, and it brought a sense of relief to my heart.

After all, in this complicated environment, Tabitha's safety was of utmost importance.
