Love Me, Or Reject Me

Chapter 82 The Mating Ceremony

Ch. 82 / 120 Dec 11, 2024

Freya's POV

Still, an overwhelming pang of loss gripped my heart when I recalled the fact that I was infertile. I turned to Kingsley, saying, "Kingsley."

"What?" Kingsley responded, meeting my gaze.

I peered into his clear eyes, suddenly uncertain about speaking. "Are you certain you want to choose me as the Luna of the pack? Perhaps, as they say, being infertile disqualifies me from being the Luna. Choosing me might cost you everything, including your wolves and your position."

I hesitated before continuing. I confess I wanted to be selfish and have him, my love, my mate. Yet, at times, I was conflicted— was love truly worth risking everything for? What if safeguarding our love would lead to the inevitable downfall of the entire pack?

Kingsley remained silent for a moment, then gently took my hand, looked me in the eyes, and earnestly said, "Freya, what do I need to say for you to understand? I didn't choose you as my mate because I wanted children. I chose you because I love you and because we are meant to be mates."

I froze as I gazed at the serious and affectionate Kingsley before me, tears involuntarily welling up in my eyes as his words softened my heart.

"Still?" I asked through tears.

"Always!" Kingsley declared sincerely, the moonlight streaming through the car window illuminating his earnest face. "You know, I've thought about us being made for each other before. So, if there's anything about you that's different from the others, it just makes me feel like you're even more special and precious to me."

I hugged Kingsley with tears in my eyes, an indescribable wave of emotion welling up within me. At that moment, I privately resolved that, regardless of what transpired in the future, I would face it with Kingsley.

The mating ceremony of Kingsley and me was approaching day by day.

As night fell, moonlight sprinkled down like silver on the verdant treetops, casting a solemn and mysterious atmosphere over the forest.

Among the trees, the Moonlight Pack and the Shadowmoon Pack gathered in preparation for this special and solemn moment.

In the manor's garden, a white flower table adorned with flowers and green vines added a touch of life to the upcoming mating ceremony.

The colorful flags fluttered in the night breeze, emitting a faint scent of flowers. The werewolves, adorned in gorgeous gowns, wore flower crowns on their heads and heraldic cloaks symbolizing the pack on their shoulders. It felt as if a fairytale-like feast was about to commence.

Cheers from both inside and outside the manor created an atmosphere like a tidal wave. On the flower stage, Kingsley stood tall and powerful in a black dress. Unlike the other werewolves, his eyes revealed a hint of tenderness and anticipation.

In contrast, I was dressed in a pure white wedding gown, showcasing a graceful figure and a pale white flower on my head. My eyes sparkled with deep love, as if the entire world were immersed in this sacred moment.

Kingsley held my hand tightly, leading me step by step up to the auditorium. I allowed him to take my hand, fully giving myself to him, and from that day forward, we were one.

It was a wonderful feeling and a blissfully delightful emotion...

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming to witness the mating ceremony of this couple. Today, we will witness the union of Alpha Kingsley and his beloved mate, working together to guard this land for their future," announced a robed elder solemnly, surrounded by werewolves.

Kingsley, surrounded by werewolves, reached out a strong hand and gently took mine. Our eyes met like a deep vow of love.

Smiling, Kingsley said, "Today is the most important day of our lives. I am willing to share my heart with you. Rain or shine, we will go through it hand in hand."

Tears glistened in my eyes as I smiled, "I do too, Alpha Kingsley. You are my life partner, my anchor. No matter what happens, I will be by your side, guarding this land, guarding our home."

The werewolves on the flower stage cheered as the oath was sworn, our vows shining like eternal stars in the moonlight.

The mating ceremony was conducted in a solemn and intimate manner.

Guided by the priest, Kingsley and I each presented wolf's tooth necklaces symbolizing our pure love. The priest's voice was low and solemn. "This is the wolf's tooth necklace that symbolizes your deep love for each other; may it bear witness to your enduring, rock-solid love."

The climactic moment of the mating ceremony arrived, and Kingsley and I exchanged rings symbolizing our commitment to each other. Kingsley looked at me with a gaze full of deep affection, saying, "This is my eternal promise to you. In life and in death, I will always be by your side."

He then transformed into a huge wolf. After circling around me a few times, he reverently and obediently squatted in front of me. Immediately afterward, he arched my hand with his nose, then raised his head, revealing his soft throat, and let out a soft whimper.

As I reached out my hand, Kingsley's huge head gently moved closer to me, placing his soft throat in the palm of my hand and looking at me loyally.

I met his gaze with a promise of the future in my eyes, saying, "This is my vow to you. No matter the storm, we will face it together and fight together."

With all the members cheering, Kingsley tightly wrapped his arms around me, and we shared a deep kiss. With the mating ceremony concluded, the werewolves departed.

Under the moonlight, Kingsley and I held hands as we strolled through the garden, the stars twinkling like diamonds.

"Freya, you're beautiful," Kingsley said, his eyes revealing a hidden desire.

I averted his intense gaze, feeling my face burn slightly. Suddenly, Kingsley's cellphone rang, breaking the ambiguous atmosphere of the moment.

"Okay, I'll be right there," Kingsley said, his expression serious.

"Freya, it's King; he needs me to come over to discuss something."

"What?" I suddenly felt uneasy inside.

How could it be such a coincidence? On the very day of my mating ceremony with Kingsley, the king was suddenly summoning him?

But obviously, the most urgent thing right now was to go and take care of this matter.

I pushed down the doubts and uneasiness within myself, looked at Kingsley, and urged, "Go, just make sure to take care of yourself and stay safe, okay?"

Kingsley looked at me deeply, then nodded and said, "I will. Don't worry." He then left.
