Love Me, Or Reject Me

Chapter 110 The Voice In My Mind

Ch. 110 / 120 Dec 11, 2024

Freya's POV

The door swung open, revealing Jeremy.

He nodded respectfully at me before exiting, making room for Kingsley and me.

As I entered the office, I found Kingsley seated at his desk, still with closed eyes and a furrowed brow.

Approaching him, I asked in a hushed tone, "Is that her?"

It took Kingsley a moment to slowly open his eyes.

"Yes, Freya. Here's the surveillance video from the hospital that day. Grace took one of our children while you were in a labor coma," Kingsley said, taking my hand in an attempt to provide comfort.

Even though my heart already sensed the truth, hearing Kingsley's words made me feel as if the heavens were falling apart.

I shuddered at the thought of what my child might suffer at Grace's hands.

It almost drove me insane.

"Kingsley, bring him back! Bring our baby back!" I growled.

Kingsley stood up, walked over to me, and hugged me tightly in an emotional embrace. "Freya, don't worry. I will bring our baby back! But not right now. Look, Grace is back at the Black Wolf Pack, and we need a more detailed plan to ensure the safe return of our baby."

"No! I absolutely cannot stand the thought of my child continuing to be around Grace. I'm going to get my child back now, Kingsley. Maybe you're a coward, but I'm not! Because I'm a mom!"

Emotions overwhelmed me, and despite knowing that my words might be hurtful, I blurted them out. Anger consumed me, and my wolf couldn't wait to find Grace and rip her throat out immediately.

"Calm down, Freya!" Kingsley implored, looking at me with red eyes and a hurt expression. "I'm just as worried about our baby as you are! But, Freya, our child is in Grace's hands, and if we act rashly, that lunatic Grace might threaten us with our child's life."

I froze at Kingsley's words.

The next moment, my tears flowed uncontrollably. My baby was born before I could even hold him; he was taken away by Grace and was now in some unknown danger.

Kingsley hugged me again, saying, "Freya, don't worry. Please feel it carefully. If our child were in danger, the unique bond between us and our child would have made us feel this instantly. But right now, we don't sense anything different, which proves that our child is safe for now."

I closed my eyes and tried to feel the bond between me and my child. As Kingsley had said, nothing was happening.

"Freya, trust me. I will bring our child back. We'll leave as soon as everything is planned, and I'm going to make Grace pay for everything she's done!" Kingsley declared in a firm voice as he squeezed my shoulder.

I looked into Kingsley's eyes, which turned amber with a murderous glint as he spoke of Grace.

"Freya, please trust me, okay?"

I nestled into Kingsley's arms and whispered, "Kingsley, was I out of line when I just talked to you like that?"

"You're right," Kingsley said as he wrapped his arms around my waist and blamed himself. "I am indeed a useless coward. I couldn't protect you before, and now I'm not even protecting our child."

I looked up at Kingsley and said, "I'm sorry, Kingsley."

"I told you, you never have to apologize to me," Kingsley leaned down and planted a kiss on my lips. "But please believe me, no matter what happens, I will guard you and protect our children with my life."

Warmth slowly flowed through my heart before I leaned back and kissed Kingsley on the lips, desperate for comfort.

Just then, a voice that wasn't my own popped into my head. "Leave him!"

"Leave him!"

The mechanical voice echoed repeatedly in my mind.

My eyes snapped open.

"What's wrong?" Kingsley abruptly stopped moving and kissed me on the forehead.

"No, nothing..." I had barely uttered those words when the voice in my head rang out again, causing my head to ache so intensely that I almost fainted.

I suddenly recalled the previous night when my head had throbbed similarly. However, in an instant, I couldn't remember anything.

I couldn't let that happen again! Never!

The voice in my head was not a hallucination; it was a tangible presence, a forceful voice that seized control of my entire mind, commanding me to leave Kingsley.

Why was that voice there?

My hands clenched as I battled against the force in my head.

After a while, the voice finally subsided.

My tense spirit instantly relaxed, and I found myself helplessly paralyzed in Kingsley's arms.

"There's something wrong with you today," Kingsley said, his arms wrapped around me in concern.

"It's nothing. I just got a sudden headache. Maybe it's because I've been under a lot of stress lately."

I quickly dismissed the matter, deciding not to disclose anything until it was resolved.

Kingsley kissed me on the cheek, reassuring, "Don't worry, Freya. Give me three days, and once everything is ready, we'll go and get our baby back."

I nodded, but my mind lingered on the recent unsettling events.

This anomaly had occurred twice now. The first time, I couldn't recall the details, but this time, I distinctly remembered the commanding voice in my head urging me to leave Kingsley.

Such occurrences began after learning that Grace had taken my children.

How did this happen?

At that moment, a knock on Kingsley's office door interrupted my thoughts, followed by May's voice. "Alpha Kingsley, Luna Freya, Leo's awake."

Kingsley and I exchanged glances before leaving the office together to attend to our baby Leo.
