Love Me, Or Reject Me

Chapter 100 Alex's Threat

Ch. 100 / 120 Dec 11, 2024

Freya's POV

My gaze sharpened, and I cast a cold glance at Alex. "Even if you were to kill me and the baby, what would happen? As long as Kingsley is alive, you'll never achieve your desires for the rest of your lives, and Robert will never become the next Lycan King as you wish him to be."

"Shut up!" Alex scolded sharply, finally losing his patience. "Someone, gag her!"

The guards on the side produced a rag and forcefully shoved it into my mouth.

"The world is finally quiet," Alex chuckled softly. "You're right, Freya, but you're wrong about one thing. You may believe love makes you strong, but it also makes you weak. Once you're dead, I think the pain of losing you will drain all the fight out of Kingsley, just like his foolish father! A Kingsley like that can't pose any threat to us!"

Alex spat out viciously, and immediately after, the knife in his hand was raised high.

However, in the next second, I thought I heard a wolf's howl. Then came the sound of Alex screaming in agony.

I opened my eyes and looked over; Alex was jumping up and down while Kingsley, still in wolf form, was biting his ass.

"Where did that dingo come from? Robert, what are you standing there for? Kill it now!"

Robert, shocked by the sudden turn of events, snapped out of it and rushed up with a few guards. But Kingsley was now just an ordinary wolf.

They quickly pounced, and one of them kicked Kingsley so hard that I heard him let out a wail of pain. Nevertheless, Kingsley stood up shakily and rushed to me, shielding me behind him.

"Shit!" cursed Alex. "Kill the damn beast!"

Then he and the others charged again, and I saw Kingsley keep circling them, but eventually, he was all sprawled on the ground, being punched and kicked by them.

I witnessed bright red blood constantly oozing out of Kingsley's head. "No!"

Soon, a layer of blood spread across the damp ground, and Alex walked up to me again.

I looked behind him, and Kingsley's tiny body lay on the ground, the uncertainty of whether he was dead or alive gripping my heart with great sadness.

"Now, it's your turn!" Alex said coldly before pressing a gun against my forehead.

I closed my eyes, desperately preparing for my own death.

Suddenly, a muffled grunt came, immediately followed by the strong smell of blood filling my nostrils.

I opened my eyes only to see Alex's face twisted in agony; his chest was pierced by a sharp claw.

Alex's smug smile didn't even have time to retract before he collapsed in front of me.

Then I saw Kingsley, who had returned to normal, though his eyes were bloodshot and thick with rage.

"I won't allow you to hurt her!" he roared angrily, a loud wolf howl emanating from within him.

Kingsley's body began to change, hair springing up on his skin, and a feral gleam in his eyes. He turned into a werewolf, a tall, powerful werewolf.

Robert and the guards behind him stepped out of the shadows, the sadness in their eyes from the death of their own father replaced by evil and cruelty.

"Did you think you could escape me, Kingsley?" he hissed in a low growl.

Suddenly, Robert let out a growl, and his entire body sprouted black fur, instantly becoming huge and terrifying.

His sharp claws were as sharp as blades, coming straight for Kingsley's throat.

"Watch out!" I shouted nervously.

Kingsley dodged and narrowly avoided the blow. Then he counterattacked with sharp claws and teeth.

Robert grinned and lunged out with great speed, unleashing a ferocious attack.

However, Kingsley leaped up quickly and unleashed a powerful blow that struck Robert right in the heart.

Robert let out a final growl of resignation and eventually fell to the ground with a heavy thud. Kingsley then quickly disposed of the few remaining werewolves, gasping for breath as his werewolf body gradually degraded back to human form before transforming into a normal wolf once again.

He then fell asleep from exhaustion moments before Jeremy and Eric arrived.

Kingsley's POV

The hospital room was silent.

The only sound permeating the air was the subtle ticking of the IV tubes.

I caught a whiff of the fresh scent of Freya’s long hair, and my gaze fell upon Freya's face resting on the edge of the bed.

Moonlight from the night sky cast a gentle shadow across her features through the window.

An urge overcame me, and I yearned to kiss the side of her face.

However, a dozen centimeters still separated us. I made a feeble attempt to shift, but my head, injured and heavy, resisted movement. A twinge of frustration washed over me as I tried to move my hand.

Although my left hand was injured, devoid of an infusion, it still possessed mobility...

Slowly, I raised my left hand and delicately grasped Freya's soft hair. Her eyes flickered open, meeting my gaze.

"You've got a hold of my hair..." Freya whispered, a hint of blush coloring her face.

In a moment of realization, I released my hand, staring at her with a suddenly parched throat. Perhaps the night was too dark, the air too still, or the emotions within me too turbulent to suppress any longer...

Above all, I never wished to be separated from her again, not even for an instant.

"Freya," my voice emerged hoarse. I raised my hand once more, taking hold of Freya's cool fingertips.

"Do you know? In Snowland, there are breathtaking ice flowers that bloom when the enchanting Aurora Borealis graces the sky, symbolizing holy and everlasting love. When I first saw that flower, I thought, 'I must bring you here to witness it with your own eyes; you'll surely love it.' If not for the accident, I believe I would have taken you there long ago. But now, it's not too late..."

Freya's body stiffened as she fixedly gazed at me.

"Freya, as I reflect on our journey, it's apparent that we've lost too much time. Initially, I encountered you when my understanding of love was limited, and driven by selfish possessiveness, I chose you as my mate without truly cherishing it. Fortunately, the Moon God granted me a second chance to reconnect with you, seek your forgiveness, and reunite with you. However, we were cruelly separated once again due to the interference of that cursed Robert and Alex..."

"Freya, there has never been a moment when I was as certain as I am now that I love you and never want to be parted from you again."

Freya's face turned red; even her ears flushed. She pursed her lips and hummed deliberately, "I've heard those words a long time ago."

I froze, suddenly a little anxious. "Freya, those words are straight from my heart, I swear!"

Freya squeezed my hand, smiled gently, and said, "Kingsley, it's best for you to lie down and recuperate first. After all, our children wouldn't surely want their father to be a wolf in the future."

With that, Freya pressed my hand against her soft stomach.

Feeling the powerful heartbeat emanating from within, an electric current surged through my body.

I looked at Freya and, with a touch of embarrassment, said, "This time, I will unquestionably follow the doctor's orders and get well."

Freya burst out laughing, then looked at me seriously and affectionately. "I love you, Kingsley."

My heart skipped a beat. "I love you too, Freya," I replied before gently planting a kiss on Freya's blushing face.
