Love Me, Or Reject Me

Chapter 80 Eric And Mavis

Ch. 80 / 120 Dec 11, 2024

Freya's POV

I'd been quite busy lately due to the mating ritual. Today, I drove to the perfume store to arrange my work assignments for the next few days. Early in the morning, as soon as I walked in the door, my coworkers at the store gathered around me.

"Congratulations, Ms. Freya," they exclaimed, sending their best wishes.

When the excitement reached its peak, I clapped my hands and said, "Alright, everyone, get ready for a meeting."

After the meeting, I received a call from Novia. "Hello, Novia," I answered happily.

"Freya, did you choose Kingsley and forget about me as a good friend? I haven't seen you in a while," Novia's slightly whiny voice came through quickly.

"Of course not, it's just that I've been really busy with everything lately," I explained with a smile.

"Alright, I know you've been busy with the mating ceremony. Are you free tonight? Let's relax together at Werewolf Bar!" Novia suggested excitedly.

"Yeah, see you tonight then."

As it was time to leave work, I heard a shriek from the office.

"Oh my god, is that guy downstairs Alpha Kingsley?"

I got up and looked out the window, seeing a black car parked downstairs in the office. Kingsley, wearing a silver suit, leaned against the car door, catching the eye of every passerby just by standing motionless.

After the public mating ceremony, it seemed he no longer cared about repercussions. Was he intentionally trying to be captured by the media?

Thinking about the disdainful look on my brother's face when he saw the news, I couldn't help but smile gently.

I walked out of the office, and the store employees playfully joked, "Miss Freya, leaving work early for a date?"

I cleared my throat, feeling a bit uncomfortable with a thousand eyes on me. "Everyone, no overtime today. Let's go to the bar and relax; I'll cover the expenses."

"Wow, Ms. Freya, you're amazing!"

In the midst of all the warm glances simultaneously directed at me, I fled and took the elevator downstairs. As I approached Kingsley, I felt numerous pairs of eyes staring at me...

Kingsley, however, looped his hand around my waist and whispered, "Tired from work today?"

"Don't you..." I blushed and gently pushed his hand away. "Get in the car first. If you have anything to say, say it in the car."

Kingsley let out a low chuckle. He was about to open the passenger side door when his cellphone suddenly vibrated.

Jeremy's voice came from the other end. "Alpha, we've got some news about Robert. Do you want to come over now?"

Kingsley wrinkled his nose. Hearing Robert's name, I looked up at Kingsley. Robert had been missing since the fire. Initially, we thought he had perished in the flames. However, a series of events unfolded, and all the signs pointed to him.

After hanging up the phone, Kingsley looked at me apologetically. "Sorry, Freya, I have something to take care of."

I frowned. "Still haven't found Robert?"

Kingsley tensed his lips. "He won't be able to hide for much longer, though."

"Then get on with it. Just..." I looked at Kingsley with concern. "Make sure you stay safe."

The memory of the fire still haunted me. Robert is an extremely unpredictable person; perhaps he'll do something again.

"I'll take you back first," Kingsley said, pulling away.

I smiled and shook my head. "I've got a date with Novia to relax at the Werewolf Bar."

Kingsley's eyes narrowed. "The bar?"

One look at him, and I knew he was ready to start getting jealous again.

I raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Think of it as a bachelor party before the mating ceremony. What, am I not allowed to go?"

Kingsley raised his hand and pressed his thick fingers against my red lips. With strong possessiveness, he whispered, "Of course, you can go. Just don't talk to other men! Otherwise, you know how I'll punish you."

The intense, dark desire lurking in his eyes made my heart skip a beat, and once again, I recalled the passionate gaze he had given me that night.

Blushing, I pushed him into the car and waited for it to vanish down the road before making my way to Werewolf Bar to meet Novia.

In the softly lit bar, I took a deep breath and immersed myself in the lively atmosphere. The music's rhythm permeated the air, creating an atmosphere of excitement throughout the space. I swiftly scanned the area, searching for Novia.

Suddenly, a familiar laugh pierced through the music's cacophony. My gaze settled on Novia in a corner of the bar, dressed in a stylish black outfit. Her long hair cascaded over her shoulders, exuding an attractive shine. Joy surged within me, and I approached with light steps.

"Why are you so late?" Novia teased.

I smiled, "Sorry, a bit tied up at work. You look fantastic; is that a new dress?"

Novia proudly wiggled her body, "Yeah, just got it. But Freya, have you really made up your mind?"

Novia looked at me with concern, referring to my decision about Kingsley.

I pursed my lips, nodding with a smile, "Yes, I'm sure. We've come a long way together; he's my destined mate, and I deeply love him. There's a special bond and understanding between us, like we're soulmates."

Novia gazed at me, lost in thought for a moment. She suddenly smiled and said gently, "That's wonderful. I'm so happy for you. Love is a marvelous force that can make people more determined and brave. I hope your future with him is filled with happiness and sweetness."

I looked at Novia gratefully, gently holding her hand, "Thank you for your blessing; it means a lot to me. Life may be uncertain, but I'm confident we can face all challenges together."

We exchanged smiles, raised our glasses, and clinked them gently. Suddenly, Novia tugged on my arm, pointing to the bar counter and said, "Freya, isn't that Mavis?"

I followed Novia's finger and saw Mavis sitting at the card table, with someone equally familiar across from him. It was Eric, the doctor who had treated me before at the party.

How did they know each other? And what were they doing here?

Doubt flickered in my eyes before I stood up and walked over.
