His Forbidden Obsession

Chapter 85:- Fated To Apart

Ch. 85 / 125 Feb 13, 2026

Seraphina regained her consciousness and the first thing which escaped from her mouth was.

"Nate... " She opened her heavy eyelids and immediately those images of Nathan's accident started engulfing her.

"Nate.. I want to see him. Nate.. " She chanted.

Nicklaus ran towards her and then cupped her face.

"Hey, hey.. Look at me, Seraphina. Nate is fine. His life is out of danger,"

Seraphina calmed down and looked at Nicklaus.

"He's fine. The doctors said he's completely alright now,"

Nicklaus's words made an extreme amount of relief wash over her. Seraphina hugged Nicklaus and uttered while whimpering.

"I want to see him please,"

Nicklaus patted her head and sighed gently.

"You can meet him but before that you need to calm yourself down, Seraphina," He palmed her face again and wiped her face with his palm softly.

"He won't be able to endure the pain of watching you like this, so you've to be strong for him, Seraphina," He tried to make her understand the situation.

Seraphina slowly nodded and then corrected her appearance a bit. Nicklaus helped her in getting up and then took her to the room where Nathan was.

Seraphina slowly stepped inside and her eyes straight fell on Nathan, whose head was wrapped in a white bandage and his eyes were closed. Her eyes immediately watered again by watching his state.

The sound of her slow steps made Nathan open his eyes slowly. He slightly tilted his head and his heart ached by seeing her, before him because he thought he would never be able to watch his whole world, his little sister again.

"Sephi," He weakly took her name.

The tears in her eyes flew down, hearing his weak voice. Seraphina got closer to him and then sat beside him.

Nathan's eyes turned glossy too. He slowly raised his palm and placed it on her cheek.

"Don't cry, my angel. I'm completely fine," He said, wiping her tears.

A sob broke out from her mouth. Seraphina held his palm in her hands amiably and then leaned her forehead against it.

"I'm sorry, Nate. I... I am sorry. It all has happened because of me. I am so sorry," She uttered, shedding her tears.

"No, Sephi. Nothing is your fault, my angel,"

She took her head upward hearing him. Tears were rolling down from the corner of his eyes too but he was still giving her a smile.

"Don't blame yourself for anything, Seraphina. I'm fine, angel,"

More guilt washed over her at his words. Seraphina leaned and wiped the tears in the corner of his eyes and then softly pecked his forehead.

How terrified she had become when she saw him lying on that road with a pool of his blood around him, only she knew about it. She thought he had lost him. She lost her everything and if anything would have happened to him, she would have never been able to live and now she knew she would never be able to forgive herself for what had happened to him because she was responsible for it, for hiding such a big thing from him when she knew how much it was going to affect her brother. In her selfishness, she hurted her brother who had never let anyone to even think about hurting her.

Outside the door, Nicklaus was staring at both the brother and sister through the glass window and then exhaled firmly.

"They both are fine now. She has woken up and his life is out of danger now," He notified on the phone call and then heard a heavy sigh from the other side of the call.

"Why don't you come here, Arzal?" He asked, because Arzal had left after knowing Nathan's life was out of danger.

"Because some things are fated to remain apart always," With that he hung up the call.

Nicklaus understood the actual meaning of his words. That now he was blaming himself for everything. He travelled his eyes at Seraphina who was talking to her brother while holding his hand, making Nicklaus to utter

"And some things happen beyond the beliefs of fate,"

A week had passed. Nathan had started healing. He had gotten discharged from hospital and Seraphina had put her entire efforts into his speedy recovery.

She was taking care of him like a mother to his child. Nathan was speechless to witness his little sister, who had turned so mature and responsible in such a short span of time and most importantly, she didn't even talk about Arzal to him for once.

She didn't even let his thoughts to invade in their conversation, even mistakenly but Nathan never understood the pain which was shattering her from inside. The pain of not having her love beside her. The pain of not being able to see him, even for once.

She wanted to apologize to him for the things she had said to him that night when she wasn't in her right senses but she was feeling too cowardly and weak to even message him.

She knew he was hurt. She had hurted him by putting the blame on his head and his ignorance had made it completely evident for her. Seraphina wanted to talk to him but now, she wanted to do it after the acceptance of her brother and right now, she didn't want to talk about it to Nathan, as he was still healing. Her sole priority was to make him alright again.

The sound of the doorbell took her out of her thoughts. Seraphina placed the bowl of soup on the table beside the bed, as she was feeding Nathan .

"I'll check," She said and Nathan nodded, smiling.

Seraphina got out of his room and then walked towards the main door. She opened it and saw a smiling Nevada.

"Hey, how are you, Seph?" Nevada hugged her. Her hug made Seraphina feel better.

"Good," She smiled and welcomed her in.

"Actually Evelyn wanted to come too but her mother is ill, so she's taking care of her," Nevada said, earning an understanding nod from Seraphina.

"Now tell me where's that sexy brother of yours? I have specially brought these fresh lilies for him," Nevada tried to light up her mood, while showing her the beautiful white lilies.

"He's in his room. Come," Seraphina took her to Nathan's room.

"I know it's not the right time to say this but you're looking more hot in these slight beards, Mr Miller,"

Nathan softly chuckled at her words. She was always ready to brighten everyone's mood.

"You sit, Neva. I'll get something for you to drink,"

"No worries, Seph. I'll take care of your handsome brother in your absence. After all, I already have to do it after our marriage, right, Mr Miller?"

Nathan's ears heated up in embarrassment. This girl was really too bold and courageous.

Seraphina smiled and then left the room.

"So now we're finally alone, what do you say about a kiss?" Nevada sent him a cute smirk. Now Nathan cleared his throat and beamed.

"Well, this is too much to say even in a joke, Miss Williams," He uttered, making her frown.

"Who said I'm joking?" She snapped and did something which made Nathan startled.

She pecked his lips. His cheeks immediately coloured.

"Now take it as a reminder that I'm not joking,"

He didn't know how to handle this girl and that awkward situation, so he just downcast his eyes.

"Hey! Don't blush like this. I should be the one blushing, after all that was my first kiss...not kiss but a peck,"

Okay she was crazy. He concluded and her intentions were now not feeling as a joke.

"Miss Williams... "

"Call me, Nevada but for now just shut up and listen to me," She halted him.

He kept shut but her next words hardened his face.

"I need to talk to you about Seraphina and Arzal,"
