Next morning, Seraphina woke up from her dreamless sleep. She had barely slept last night because her whole mind was all over that thing that he was there, all alone under one roof with Rebecca.
Even after getting up, her anxiety and those terribly wrong intuitions that something bad was going to happen didn't stop bothering her, instead had started engulfing her more badly.
So the first thing she did in the morning was to pray for the wellbeing of her loved ones and then decided to call Arzal but he didn't pick it up which made her more restless.
Seraphina tried a couple more times but failed in all her attempts. So with a throbbing heart, she went to do her morning routine.
"He's still not picking up his phone," Seraphina uttered, checking her phone, making Nicklaus, Nevada and Nathan sigh.
"Hey! stop worrying, Seph. He will be alright," Nevada tried to assure her but Seraphina shook her head.
"No, I just want to talk to him to make sure he's safe. That's it. Please do something," She almost pleaded in her shivering voice.
"Calm down, Seph. He must be sleeping or doing some other work. He will soon check his phone," Nicklaus uttered but his words didn't buy Seraphina.
"Okay fine, If he didn't pick up his phone in an hour, I'll go there and check on him, okay?"
Seraphina sighed and reluctantly nodded, hearing Nicklaus but only Seraphina knew the storm of fear emerging inside her heart because she could feel that something was going to get away from her.
After an hour, Seraphina continuously texted him and called him but got no reply. Now at this point, her fear started crossing its boundaries.
She decided to talk to Nicklaus.
"He's still not picking up his phone. Now at least do something, Nick," She practically begged, even her eyes started watering.
Nicklaus exhaled sharply, at her words and watching her teary eyes. He knew she was concerned about Arzal but he thought Rebecca's target was to hurt either Nathan or Seraphina. He had never imagined what wickedness Rebecca had already started doing.
"Seraphina, stop worrying. Arzal must be alright. Besides the threat is over your and Nathan's head not on Arzal, so please try to understand. You both need to be alerted,"
He wasn't understanding. Nobody was understanding what she was trying to tell them because she herself didn't know what she was feeling but she knew whatever it was, it wasn't going to end easily or without harming anything.
Meanwhile in the Grayson's mansion, Rebecca stepped inside the kitchen where each and every staff member greeted her. She flashed all of them her fake smile.
"Have you prepared Arzal's coffee? ," She asked and the staff member who had prepared his coffee nodded.
Rebecca walked towards her and saw his coffee mug filled with coffee.
"Okay you all can do your work. I'll take his coffee to his room,"
Everyone nodded and started doing their respective work because mostly Rebecca used to take his coffee to his room in the morning.
Rebecca glanced at her surroundings and saw everyone was busy doing their own work. She took the opportunity and decided to play her last card.
She took out that small glass bottle and then poured its entire content on his coffee mug which got immediately dissolved in the coffee.
After that Rebecca's phone started ringing, gaining everyone's attention towards her.
"Actually I need to take this call. One of you, go and give him his coffee today, okay?" She uttered earning a nod from the staff member and then she left from the kitchen with a satisfied grin on her face.
Arzal was wearing his tux to get to his work when he heard someone knocking on his door.
"Mr Grayson, your coffee," The staff member politely bowed.
"Place it on the table," He plainly replied.
She placed it on the table beside the bed as per his orders and then left.
Arzal buttoned up his tux and then grabbed the coffee mug from the table. He took it closer to his mouth and placed it over his lips.
Those evil emerald eyes filled with more content when they saw him sipping from that mug. Rebecca was keeping an eye on him, secretly and after seeing him drinking that coffee, her lips curved into a devilish grin because she had finally succeeded in removing the last hurdle from her way that was to kill him, which she knew would happen in a couple of minutes as he had drunk that coffee which she had poisoned.
Rebecca wanted to see him taking the last breath of his life in front of her but then her phone started vibrating. She had put it on silent.
Her brows furrowed by watching the lawyer's number. She took a last glance of Arzal sipping from that coffee mug and then walked away from there.
"What?" She spat, after picking up the call. Rebecca was walking in the hall of the mansion.
"Mrs Grayson, it's very urgent. You need to know something,"
The lawyer's tensed voice made her brows arched in confusion.
"What happened?"
"Mr Grayson's signature didn't match with his original signature on those papers of transferring his property to your name,"
Rebecca's eyes widened. She was too stunned to speak after hearing that.
"Are you even hearing yourself? He has signed them himself before me," She seethed.
"I am not lying, Mrs Grayson. His signature didn't match on those papers with his original signature. There are changes in his signature. Now we can't take any legal step on it and if it went out, then you might have to face legal consequences for trying to transfer his property on your name without his acknowledgement as the signature is fake,"
Rebecca clenched her jaw. No, this could not happen. Her motives of so many years couldn't break like this but whatever, he might have already died by now, so everything would automatically become hers.
"Let it be like this. We don't need to do any more work because... "
"Where's Arzal?"
Rebecca's words halted with that voice. She turned around and saw those azure eyes gawking at her which was there for now or never.
