Nicklaus swallowed, hard, by watching the way Evelyn was glaring at him.
"Look it's not... "
"Was that true what Nevada said?" Evelyn shut him. Nicklaus gulped but didn't reply.
"I want the damn answer, Nicklaus Williams and if you keep that mouth shut of yours now, I'll throw you out from the peak of this hill,"
Her warning made Nicklaus almost chuckle but her deadly glare was indicating how serious she was, so he decided to remain quiet.
His silence pushed Evelyn's boundaries. She had his enough, so without saying anything further, she tried to walk past him but Nicklaus wrapped his arms around her waist from behind.
"Yes, I like you," He gently cooed in her ear because now it had turned now or never.
"Then why didn't you ever tell me?" She asked, standing in his embrace.
"Because I thought you hate me and you'll make fun of me after knowing about this,"
Evelyn frowned at his answer and then turned around to face him.
"I never said I hate you,"
A slight smirk played on Nicklaus lips, hearing her. He stepped closer to her and wrapped his arm around her waist.
"So do you like me?" He asked, pulling her closer.
"I didn't mean that," She snapped, maintaining her courageous aura but only she knew what she was actually feeling from inside.
Nicklaus leaned his face nearer to her.
"Then what did you mean?"
Her heartbeat accelerated but she didn't show it.
"Let it be because you're too dumb headed to understand it, Mr Williams,"
Nicklaus grinned widened at her comeback. Evelyn rolled her eyes and tried to push him away but he yanked her on his chest.
"Then why don't you try to help this dumb headed in understanding it, Miss Evelyn?"
Her face started heating up, the way he took her name and the way he was gazing at her. Now she started feeling timid under his gaze, so she took her eyes away from him.
"I've no interest in teaching anything to a stupid, rude and arrogant human, who is too self centered to understand someone else's feelings,"
He smiled at his own insult and Evelyn's heart tingled when he slightly brushed his lips over her ear.
"This stupid, rude, arrogant human do understand someone else's feelings, just like right know, he can understand what you're feeling,"
Evelyn blushed but didn't look at him but he gently gripped her chin and forced her to look at him.
"Just like right now, he knows you want him to do this," He whispered, staring into her eyes and before she could process anything, Nicklaus pressed his lips over her.
Goosebumps formed all over her body. She reciprocated his action because that was what she was actually wanting him to do and she herself didn't know when she started having those feelings for him.
Evelyn closed her eyes when he pressed her body against his and turned their kiss more passionate and that was where they both knew it, now they had lost their everything to each other.
Meanwhile, Nathan dragged Nevada into an empty room and forced her to stand before him.
"Come to your senses, Nevada. Forget about all of this," Nathan uttered, angry with her stubbornness.
His tone and words hurted her more, who's already crying. Nathan's anger lowered by watching her tears
"Nevada, please try to understand. This.. "
"I promise, I'll try to behave more maturely from now on," She softly breathed out, making Nathan stunned.
"I'll never behave like a child anymore. I won't do any childish things anymore. I... "
Nathan cupped her face, making her quiet.
"There's nothing wrong in thinking and behaving with your heart and if that's what makes you childish, then you're blessed to have this beautiful habit, Nevada," He said, tenderly looking into her teary eyes.
"But I know you're restraining yourself from making us together just because of it," Her soft voice made him sigh.
"It's not like that, Nevada. The problem is.." Nicklaus halted. He inhaled firmly before continuing.
"I've never been in a relationship before. I've never tried to get closer to any girl or woman with those motives. I've never tried to feel those feelings for anyone,"
Nevada was speechless at his confession.
"After our parents left us, I've always tried to become a parent for my little sister, so that I could give her everything which our parents would have given her if they would have been alive," Nathan said.
"And Seraphina had always been my priority from the past 10 years and I had never wanted any distraction in my life because I didn't want even a slight mistake in her upbringing. She isn't just my sister. She's my entire family, my whole world and I never wanted her to get that feeling that she had to share her brother's love and care with anyone else because from a very little age, she had always felt herself different from others but I didn't want that thing to get imprinted in her mind forever,"
Nevada completely understood what he was trying to say.
"And I know for sure, Seraphina would've never tried to stop me but I didn't want to share my care and love for her with anyone else, until she didn't get someone, who could love and protect her more than me,"
Nevada downcast her eyes in shame at the end of his words. How selfishly she was behaving when his intentions and heart was so pure and beautiful.
"I.. I am sorry," She said and took her glossy eyes up at him.
"I had turned blind in my own selfishness that I didn't even try to understand you and your emotions. I was just thinking about myself. I'm sorry," She uttered and then rubbed her teary eyes with the back of her palm.
Nevada tried her best to force a smile, even with tears glistening in her eyes.
"Let's forget about all of this. I'll never trouble you again regarding t..this, Mr Miller," Her words stuttered and then Nevada hurriedly tried to get away from there.
But before she could take a single step away from him, she felt him grabbing her wrist and tugged her closer to him and then slammed his lips over her.
Nevada broke down into tears because she couldn't hold them back anymore. The pain her first love was going to end before it had even started was too painful and aching and Nathan understood it completely that she was now thinking about him before her.
He slightly pulled back and Nevada's heart clenched by witnessing his slightly glossy eyes.
"You're not allowed to behave so maturely. I want my childish Nevada back," He uttered, making her burst out crying.
Nevada hugged him tightly and pressed her lips against his, to which he immediately caged her back and kissed her and now they both finally understood that they had finally found their everything in each other.
Seraphina, who was hearing and watching them from the slightly opened door, a tear slipped down from her eyes. She sighed and turned around, only to find those grey eyes staring at her.
She dashed towards him and hugged him tightly. She didn't need to tell him anything because he was capable of understanding even her silence.
Arzal firmly secured her in his embrace and then pecked her head. They both closed their eyes, while feeling that beautiful feeling of having their everything from each other.
