Arzal stepped inside his mansion and was about to stride towards his room when he saw Rebecca coming towards him with a smile on her face.
Rebecca hugged him, making his heart ache. How could this motherly warmth betray him? He hugged her back and closed his eyes.
"So how was my son's day today?" Rebecca asked after breaking their hug.
Arzal forced a smile and nodded.
"It was good,"
"Ok go and freshen up. I'll get something for you to eat,"
Arzal nodded again and was about to walk away when he heard Rebecca further uttering.
"By the way, Arzal, when did Seraphina leave yesterday? I hadn't seen her leaving,"
Arzal turned to face her after hearing her.
"I mean, she didn't even meet me before leaving and besides, she was about to stay for the night, so I thought to ask you about this," She uttered, perfectly playing the role of a worried mother which even he couldn't identify.
"She left because she wanted to," He curtly said, completely remembering their plan.
Rebecca faked a concerned look at his words and walked towards him.
"Just like that? But she was so excited to... "
"I don't want to talk about her," Arzal showed her his fake disdain towards Seraphina's topic.
Rebecca mentally grinned at his reaction because even she failed to understand that he was playing her game with her.
"Has something happened between you both, Arzal?" She uttered, tensed.
Arzal scoffed and took his eyes away from her.
"I really don't want to talk about this. She's just... " He acted while gritting his teeth and then again trailed his eyes at Rebecca.
"It's just sometimes, the person we love and trust the most becomes the one who hurts and destroys us the most," He uttered, earning a sigh from Rebecca.
"Don't worry, everything will be alright soon,"
"Hope so," Is all he said, before turning around and dashing towards his room.
Rebecca smirked by watching his retracting figure.
"Everything will be alright soon but only with your end, my son,"
... ..
Arzal stepped inside his room and was opening his coat when he heard his phone beeping. He took it out and saw Nicklaus's text.
'Seraphina and Nathan are safe here with us. Don't worry about them but you need to be careful around Rebecca because we still don't know if she's behind all of this or not, so be careful, Arzal.. Don't even trust your own shadow now... '
Arzal exhaled heavily after reading his text and then deleted it to remove any evidence which anyone could catch about their plan.
He removed his coat and went inside his bathroom to freshen up.
After an hour, Arzal was chatting with Seraphina, who was trying her best to make him smile with her innocuous, adorable attempts.
'And then that kitten licked her puppy.. '
Arzal smiled after reading her cute story about them as a kitten and a puppy. He was about to text back when he heard a knock on his door.
He snapped his eyes and saw Rebecca at his door with a file in her hand.
"Can I come in?"
He nodded, letting her in. She came towards him, smiling.
"Sorry to disturb you at this time, Arzal but I need your signature in these papers. It's very urgent for your deal with your foreign clients," She uttered, handling him the file.
Arzal opened the file and started reading it. It was actually his business dealings papers.
"Don't worry, I've read them thoroughly and they are completely accurate,"
Arzal stopped reading after hearing her words. He looked upward at her who was as usual flashing him her warm smile.
Arzal also nodded with a tiny beam and then took the pen from her and without reading further, he signed all the papers.
"Thank you," Rebecca said, taking the file from him.
"I'll send them to your clients as soon as possible. Goodnight, son,"
Arzal inclined her by motioning his head and answered.
"Goodnight, mom,"
After that Rebecca left from there, leaving him alone.
Arzal trailed his eyes down and just silently gazed at the pen he was holding.
"Yes, I've sent them to you. Now I want the legal action by tomorrow in the morning," Rebecca uttered on the phone.
"Don't worry, Mrs Grayson as Mr Grayson has signed those transfer papers to your name, his each and every property and assets will belong to you now just wait for tomorrow,"
Rebecca grinned, hearing the lawyer. She had mixed those papers with his business deal's paper and he had blindly signed them like an obedient good son.
"Perfect. I'll see you in the morning," She hung up her call and then walked towards her drawer.
She opened it and took out a small glass bottle which made her smirk turn more evillish.
"So it's time to use it again," She chuckled, gazing at that glass bottle.
"8 years ago I had used it on your father to give his life a peace of eternity, Arzal and now it's your turn, my son," Her emerald filled with more viciousness as she remembered how skillfully she had poisoned Arzal's father after his mother's death and then showed it to the world like, his father had also committed suicide in the grievance of his mother.
"Tomorrow, you'll also get that peaceful sleep which your parents had gotten, for forever, Arzal,"
"I am not getting my sleep, Nate," Seraphina trailed her eyes away from the sky and looked at her brother, who was standing beside her. They both were standing at the window.
"I don't know why but whenever I'm closing my eyes, I'm getting this feeling that something bad is going to happen," Seraphina told him her fear.
Nathan sighed before sighing.
"Everything will be fine soon, Sephi. Just have faith, angel,"
Seraphina closed her eyes to calm herself down and then leaned her head on her brother's chest.
"I'm afraid for him, Nate. I love him to the extent that now I am not capable of living without him," Her gaze watered.
"If anything happens to him, I'll d.. d.. "
"Nothing will happen to him, Sephi," He stopped her and then took out her face. He palmed her face.
"Nothing will happen to your love. Your brother will make sure about it, my angel. I won't let anything happen to you or your love,"
Seraphina hugged her brother tightly and closed her eyes and she said those words while a tear slipped down from her eyes.
"I want you and Arzal safe by my side always and for that, I'll do anything if I have to,".
But none of them knew what that the morning of that night was going to bring for them where someone had to lose his life and someone had to lose his love.
