Third person's POV
Zander had passed out again.
Rolf held him by the collar, lifting him up.
Seeing Zander's weak breathing, Rolf sneered, "His wolf is trembling, not even daring to resist. Such a cowardly werewolf, not even as good as our Black Thorn's Omegas. I really don't know what Ambrose is thinking."
Rolf felt it was unfair for Derek.
As the future heir of the Black Thorn Pack, Alpha Elliott had been very strict with Derek since he was young.
Derek's first half of life was miserable, not like Zander's warm and happy family.
Derek glanced at him indifferently, "Let the werewolf doctor give him some herbs. Let his wolf have time to heal the wounds. Don't make him die. We need to get some useful information from him."
"Understood, Alpha Derek."
Without any attachment, Derek turned and left for the kitchen, where the servants were methodically cleaning up the mess at home.
Jenny followed him, "Alpha Derek, you just need to tell us what you want to eat. Why do you cook yourself?"
Derek ignored her. His long fingers were handling a fish.
Jenny was astounded. Just a moment ago, this man was a fierce warrior. But the moment he put on the apron, even his white shirt seemed to shine.
Derek put the fish and various ingredients into a stew pot and then started dealing with other ingredients.
He made toast, fried steak, and a fish and vegetable soup. He carefully poured the soup into a thermos in one go.
Then he drove to the hospital himself.
Tabitha was still looking sickly, her thin face pale. She had just been given anti-inflammatory drugs and had fallen asleep.
Andrea had stayed with her for half the day and yawned repeatedly, not having slept the night before.
Derek quietly walked to Andrea's side, patting her shoulder, "I'll be here. You can go back first."
Andrea pulled him to the corridor outside, "What are your plans? Tabitha's condition is not good now. The doctor said her cancer cells are spreading rapidly. If this continues, she might..."
"I'm already working on it. I need your help. Poison and Wolf Shadow developed an anti-cancer drug that should be able to temporarily slow down the spread of cells."
Andrea was also aware of his grudges with Poison and Wolf Shadow, "I understand, I'll figure it out. You take care of Tabitha and don't make her angry anymore."
Derek lowered his head and whispered, "I won't. I won't anymore."
Andrea wanted to scold him. But seeing him like this, she could only sigh, patted his shoulder, and turned to leave.
In the ward, only Derek was left. He quietly watched Tabitha's sleeping face.
His mind flashed through the grievances between him and Tabitha over the years.
He had harmed Tabitha to this extent for a baseless charge. He wished he could bear all the pain for Tabitha.
No wonder Tabitha had wanted to kill herself several times.
Over the past two years, he couldn't imagine how Tabitha had held on.
A tear fell from his eye. And Tabitha, in a daze, opened her eyes, just in time to see Derek hastily wiping away tears.
Such an indifferent man was now as helpless and nervous as a child, wiping away tears.
"Tabitha, are you awake? Are you hungry or thirsty? I'll get you some water."
He got up in a panic to get water and kicked a chair with his foot. He then fell straight down.
Tabitha was physically weak. So Derek's wolf had become weak as well.
He was afraid, afraid that despite trying his best, he still wouldn't be able to keep Tabitha and could only watch helplessly as she left.
Derek didn't feel embarrassed. He got up in a panic, poured a glass of water, and said, "Tabitha..."
Tabitha's face was pale, but her eyes were very clean.
"Derek, just let me go."
