Tabitha's test results came out overnight. She did have cancer.
What was worse, her cancer had metastasized to her head. Now she had an early malignant tumor in her brain.
The oncologists gathered for a consultation, and their conclusion was consistent with Orson's. Treatment wasn't recommended.
Derek's gaze was extremely cold. Suppressing his anger, he said, "You haven't even tried. And you're already giving up?"
The director wiped the sweat off his forehead and said, "Alpha Derek, it's not just any cancer. If detected early, we usually opt for surgical removal. But her cancer is at an advanced stage, so she's not eligible for surgery right now. Besides, we've found a tumor in her brain. One's brain has a lot of nerves, and we seldom recommend brain surgery."
Noticing Derek's increasingly cold face, the director quickly added, "Of course, we can go for conservative treatment. We can get her on phase one chemo, but... Chemo has a lot of side effects, and if she isn't up to it, I'm afraid it'll backfire. In fact, it's not cancer that kills many patients. It's the side effects of chemo.
"Usually, in the late stage, patients are in a terrible condition both mentally and physically. Chemo is unbearable for them, and the results are not as good as expected. We tend to advise the family members to give up treatment."
Derek's eyes were grimmer than ever as he clasped his hands together under his chin.
No matter what decision he made, it would be extremely hurtful for Tabitha.
But he couldn't let Tabitha go just like that.
After a few minutes of silence, he lifted his head and had already made a decision. "Start the chemo as soon as possible."
His decision wasn't surprising; one always tried everything to prevent their loved ones from leaving.
The relatives of those patients who were sent to the ICU knew very well how expensive the admission fee and various treatment costs would be, and spending a large sum of money didn't necessarily mean saving their loved ones. In fact, getting chemo would only make the patients suffer before their death. However, their relatives still couldn't bear to let them go without making any effort.

He knew that they had been dedicated to conquering incurable diseases.
Tabitha wasn't necessarily facing a death sentence.
Even though it was a long shot, he'd try his best!
Kamp was about to arrive at the hospital. Derek hurriedly walked out to discuss strategies with him.
Tabitha's condition had been stable in the past two years, which meant her immune system had suppressed the wolfsbane from spreading. He injected her with M-1, which caused the wolfsbane to spread uncontrollably.
If her immune system were reactivated, would she still have hope?
As soon as he reached the door, Orson quickly walked out and punched hard on his face swiftly.
"Are you a monster? Will you ever stop harming her? Those chemo drugs are poison! Do you have any idea how much damage they do to the human body? Do you have any idea how strong the side effects are? You know exactly how her condition is. Why can't you just let her leave peacefully? How long are you gonna torture her?"
Derek could have dodged Orson's punch, but he didn't.
He looked at Orson with bloodshot eyes and said, "No matter what it takes, I want her to live!"
