Third person's POV
Derek stood there, stunned as if he couldn't comprehend what Tabitha was saying at first.
"Tabitha, I can explain. I never marked Daphne; we are not mates..."
Tabitha didn't want to hear anything about Daphne from him. It only made her feel sick.
"Derek, I said I don't want to know what your relationship is with her. What I'm talking about is my illness."
Derek, holding a glass of water, looked somewhat flustered for such a tall man.
He sat by the bed, put the cup aside, and tried to calm his emotions, "Alright, go ahead, I'm listening."
"Arrange for my discharge. I want to leave here."
"No, you can't leave now. You're sick."
Derek tried to explain, "The doctors have discussed the treatment plan. I'm also looking for anti-cancer drugs. Don't give up, Tabitha. This is not an insurmountable problem. Just cooperate with the treatment. You will get better!"
Tabitha smiled indifferently, "Derek, I'm a medical professional. I've been reading medical books all these days. Do you think I don't know my own condition? I don't have much time left."
"Tabitha..."
"The so-called cooperation with treatment amounts to two methods. Given my current situation, surgery is definitely out of the question, so it's either radiotherapy or chemotherapy. The side effects of radiochemotherapy are severe, and my body is weak. It's not certain that the condition can be controlled. If I can't hold on, I might die prematurely."
Tabitha looked directly into Derek's eyes, "If I'm not mistaken, you would definitely have me start with chemotherapy to control the condition."
Derek's thoughts were guessed by her, "That's what I planned. It's the only way for now."
"But I don't want to."
Derek continued, "Tabitha, this is not the time to be stubborn. The cancer cells in your body are spreading rapidly because of the wolfsbane. If not stopped in time, you will..."
"Die, right?" Tabitha calmly completed the sentence, "I'm not afraid of death."
Derek hugged her tightly, "But I am. I wish I could die in your place, Tabitha. Please don't leave me. There are too many misunderstandings between us. Let me explain them to you slowly. Daphne and I don't have a child, and I really haven't touched her."
Tabitha sneered, "Are you going to say the child is mine?"
"Tabitha, I'm not lying to you."
"Snap," Tabitha pushed him away and slapped him hard.
It was okay not to mention it, but thinking about it made Tabitha extremely angry.
"You've lied to me enough. I trusted you so much, yet you conspired with your family to deceive me. Derek, do you think I'm a fool?"
"Tabitha, believe me this once, Kyrian is really..."
Tabitha's face turned red with anger.
"I trusted you so much, and this is how you treat me. Who do you think you are to control everyone from on high? I even suspect that you are the reason for my memory loss, you bastard..."
She was fine without thinking about it. Mentioning this made Tabitha so agitated that she could hardly control her emotions. "Pff," she spat out a mouthful of blood again.
"Doctor!"
Orson arrived at the scene and was furious when he saw Tabitha like this. "Derek, are you insane? She's like this, and you still won't let her go? Why are you still stimulating her?"
Kamp also felt speechless, "Alpha Derek, you really... Forget it, you'd better go out for now. Tabitha will just get angrier seeing you."
Derek was worried but also feared further stimulating Tabitha, so he had to cooperate and leave.
"Don't worry, we're here," Kamp said.
