Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 499

Ch. 499 / 840 May 06, 2026

Tabitha's POV

I was having a meal, but I didn't know what was going on. I was actually very hungry, but I had been feeling restless since just now.

The spoon I picked up slipped from my hand and shattered on the floor with a crash.

As I instinctively bent down to pick up the pieces, Andrea spoke up, "Don't worry about it. Let the servant handle it."

Before Andrea could finish speaking, my finger was cut by a piece of porcelain, and blood began to drip onto the white shards.

"Stop it quickly," Andrea said, casually signaling for the servant to come over and bandage my finger.

I stared at the blood, somewhat lost in thought. "How long has Derek been gone?"

"Don't worry. He'll be back soon." Andrea reassured me as the phone on the table rang.

"I'll take a call." Andrea released me and answered the phone.

I didn't know what was said on the other end of the phone, but Andrea, who was usually composed, changed her expression, and even abruptly stood up.

"Got it. I'll send more people right away."

I felt increasingly uneasy in my heart. "Andrea, what happened?"

"Just a minor issue. Continue with your meal. I'll handle it."

With that, Andrea turned and walked away, not even bothering to explain further like she usually would.

I had a feeling that this matter was related to Derek.

As the sky darkened, I quickly dialed Derek's number.

On the other end of the line, a mechanical female voice informed me that no one was available to answer. I tried calling other bodyguards, but either their phones were unreachable or they were switched off.

I hurriedly chased after Andrea, but only saw the tail of her car disappearing into the distance.

What exactly happened?

I dialed Andrea's phone number, but the line was busy, indicating that Andrea was currently very busy.

Jenny, who had always been by Andrea's side every day, was also nowhere to be found.

I was at home, feeling anxious. I had just arrived in this city and was still unfamiliar with the place.

I had no choice but to run toward the small building where Alpha Elliott lived, hoping that he would be sober now.

Just as I rushed into his yard, Alpha Elliott stood there with a cane, his face stern and serious.

"Grandpa... Derek might have had an accident."

Alpha Elliott was different from his usual self. "I knew. Don't worry. Our people have already gone there."

I noticed that he had an obsidian bracelet in his hand.

Alpha Elliott was wearing ordinary clothes, but he exuded a chilling aura all over his body.

"Grandpa, I am a bit worried. Can you tell me what happened?"

"In a nutshell, he got ambushed," Alpha Elliott sighed. "Derek grew up in Seattle, born and raised. Yet, he's been away on business trips for most of the year, so he doesn't really know what's going on around here. He was trying to find out who was behind your assassination, but instead, he got led into an abandoned factory that was wired with explosives, just waiting for him to show up..."

I covered my mouth with my hand. "Explosives?"

"There's some toxic stuff over there. If it gets exposed to high heat and explodes, it could be lethal."

Every word spoken by Alpha Elliott felt like a heavy blow to me, leaving my mind in a state of confusion. How could this be happening?

Not long ago, Derek was right here with me not long ago, soothing me and everything. How could something happen to him so suddenly?

After a moment, I managed to find my voice. "So... how is he?"

Alpha Elliott sighed, "He's been through hell and back."

My heart suddenly clenched, and the pain spread instantly.

My wolf paced anxiously in my mind, constantly conveying to me a sense of unease.

I could sense that it shared my concern for Derek.
