Third person's POV
Andrea's words nearly drove Ambrose mad.
The Andrea of the past always spoke to him with caution, not like now, where every word stung.
Ambrose was doubting whether this woman's tongue could be so sharp.
What was even more critical was that Ambrose always cherished Phoebe's hard childhood. But when Andrea spoke so specifically, Ambrose immediately felt uneasy with his hand holding Phoebe's waist.
Phoebe was already crying, probably genuinely this time.
She was most sensitive about others bringing up her past, and Andrea knew just how to hit where it hurt.
"Andrea, look at yourself. You're not elegant at all! You're like a shrew! Aren't you ashamed?" Ambrose couldn't think of any other words to insult her.
He always resorted to calling her a shrew.
Andrea was about to retort when Tabitha stepped forward and spoke up.
"Ambrose, no matter whether you have rejected each other or not, you shouldn't use such words to denigrate her, especially a woman who once loved you deeply."
Andrea looked at Tabitha in surprise. He didn't expect her to stand up for her.
Tabitha felt a bit nervous but was more filled with anger.
"I don't know what happened between you in the past. But from these two encounters, this Phoebe seems to stick to you like chewing gum. She looks gentle, but in reality, every word she says dances on Andrea's hot buttons. And you, without discerning the truth, curse Andrea instead. It's easy to imagine that your behavior twenty years ago would have been even worse."
"What was wrong with Andrea loving you in the past? She bore you children, and you never cared for her for a single day. You always insulted her with such vile words. She used to be a princess cherished by all, yet she was called a shrew by you. You care about your new wife, but have you ever considered Andrea's situation?"
Ambrose, being reprimanded by a younger generation, immediately turned cold. "Shut the f*ck up! Where is there a place for you to speak? You know what? She brought this upon herself. I said from the beginning that I would never love her."
Ambrose must be the man who understands the least about romance in the world. In just a few minutes, even Tabitha, as a bystander, was so angry.
But Andrea experienced such pain countless times. A reasonable person could be driven mad.
Tabitha still wanted to defend Andrea, but Andrea pulled her behind and faced Ambrose directly, "We all know this. You don't need to keep emphasizing it, using the way you belittle me to elevate your status. No matter what, you're not qualified to judge me."
Andrea had indeed changed a lot. In the past, she would have started smashing things and screaming madly by now, but today, she just calmly accepted the fact with a cold gaze.
Then, she continued to feed Alpha Elliott some herbal medicine.
Once he felt better, she helped him up.
Andrea glanced coldly at Ambrose, "If you were truly a human, you wouldn't provoke your father at this time. This place is no longer your home. Butler, get them out, please."
At that moment, Andrea displayed the demeanor of the head of the household. She was dignified and strong.
In contrast, Phoebe seemed boneless, leaning on Ambrose, which made Tabitha feel disdain.
As they prepared to help Alpha Elliott leave, Zander blocked their way and said, "Grandpa, it's still the same as before. Whether you acknowledge me or not, I am your biological grandson. Without Derek, there will always be an heir to the Black Thorn Pack, right?"
The phrase "without Derek" made everyone present focus their gazes on him.
