Alpha Elliott's POV
Zander's words hung in the air, and even Truman Watson, the butler, couldn't help but look up at the audacious illegitimate grandson.
Without waiting for me to speak, Zander continued on his own accord, "Speaking of which, Grandpa, you are very biased. It's clear that Ambrose loved Phoebe. And you not only stopped Phoebe from joining the Black Thorn Pack, but you also refused to acknowledge my bloodline, branding me as a bastard for people to insult and mock. Meanwhile, Derek, an accident that should never have been born, received all your favor and the position of Alpha. Isn't that unfair to me?"
I slammed the mug beside me to the ground, "A mongrel born to an unblessed rogue, do you dare to clamor in front of me? Let me tell you, I didn't acknowledge your mother back then, and I won't acknowledge you now. You want the inheritance of the Black Thorn Pack? Stop dreaming!"
Zander sneered coldly, "Is that so? But if the person you value dies, who do you want to hand over this vast Black Thorn Pack to?"
"What do you mean?"
Zander approached me. Truman watched him warily.
"I heard Derek took people to Spellcoast Factory yesterday. Tsk, why is he so foolish? Over there, it's all chemical plants, full of toxic substances. There's even no one for dozens of miles around. If something happens to him, I'm afraid even the Moon Goddess won't be able to save him, right?" I was about to investigate him, but he just confessed. More accurately, he wanted to use Derek's situation to blackmail me, which was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
"He's in your hands?" I was still calm and didn't immediately make things clear with him.
"Grandpa, don't speak so harshly. It's just that when I learned Derek was in danger, I rushed to rescue him. You should know I paid a great price to save Derek."
"How is he?"
"Don't worry, we are all of the Greenwood family, sharing the same blood. Naturally, I want Derek to live well more than anyone else. Seeing how well I've done, shouldn't you reward me, Alpha Elliott?" A smug smile appeared on Zander's face. He had been waiting for this day for a long time.
"What do you want?"
"Although Derek was saved, he was severely injured. I had a werewolf doctor perform surgery on him overnight. However, even if he wakes up, he might not be able to return to the Greenwood Group. Alpha Elliott, why not hand the company over to me?" Zander squatted down and, with a seemingly obedient posture, placed both hands on my knees. "Alpha Elliott, as long as you let me join the Black Thorn Pack, I will be as filial to you as Derek in the future. My condition is simple. Can you acknowledge me and Phoebe's identity at your birthday banquet?"
I was furious, "Are you threatening me?"
"No, I'm discussing with you. You know Ambrose has worked hard over the years to achieve his current position, but it's not even a percent of the Greenwood Group. He is your only son. How could you just let him be outside, subject to gossip? Besides, I'm not inferior to Derek. I can do everything Derek can do, and I can do things he can't. Just take a closer look at me, please."
"What if I refuse?" I said coldly.
"Then..." Zander's voice also suddenly became cold, and he said nonchalantly, "I can't guarantee Derek's safety."
At that moment, Tabitha pushed the door open, and she stared coldly at Zander, "What have you done to him?"
