Third person's POV
"Dad, hearing your voice still so strong, I feel relieved."
Ambrose's unhurried voice echoed from the living room.
He had visited a few times over the years, only to be asked out each time.
He was mindful of his dignity and didn't want to come, then. But today, his assertive attitude made the guards hesitate to act too boldly.
Everyone knew he was, after all, the only son of Alpha Elliott, and no one dared to offend him, fearing what might happen if he returned to power in the future.
This time, not only did he come, but he brought Phoebe and Zander together.
Tabitha put down her glass of milk, which she had barely touched.
Looking at the three of them, she momentarily couldn't decide whether she and Andrea were the joke or if Ambrose's family was the joke.
Seeing her put down the glass, Andrea reminded her, "Eat some more, don't let trash affect your mood."
With rivals showing up to gloat, Andrea still maintained her composure.
Tabitha took a few more sips, figuring it was none of her business as she was only a recent addition to the Black Thorn Pack.
Phoebe, carrying several beautifully wrapped bags, smiled softly, "Dad, I know you like drinking coffee. I picked this can of coffee beans myself. How about I brew some for you?"
Alpha Elliott raised his hand and smashed the can she handed him onto the ground.
Tabitha winced at the sight. If it was Geisha, the value of that can would be priceless.
However, thinking it was brought by them, Tabitha wished she could go up and give it a few more kicks.
"The Black Thorn Pack has everything. Do we need your trash? It's been a long time, and you're still as shameless as ever. I remember I told you the last time we met, I only recognize Andrea as the former Luna of the Black Thorn Pack, and Derek as the only succeeding Alpha. If you want to join the Black Thorn, wait until the next life! Take your illegitimate offspring and this unfilial son and get out. I don't want to see you!"
Alpha Elliott's anger towards them was deeper than Tabitha had imagined.
His face flushed as he finished speaking. Tabitha quickly got up to help Alpha Elliott sit down and calm him.
"Grandpa, please calm down, don't get angry!" she said, handing Alpha Elliott a glass of water.
Alpha Elliott couldn't afford to be stimulated anymore.
His condition was unpredictable, and it had only recently stabilized after a difficult few days.
While doing this, Tabitha felt a gaze on her and looked up to see Zander, whom she had met once before.
He had been utterly defeated by Derek last time, yet here he was, unchanged.
Everything he did was more disgusting than the last.
Their eyes met, and Tabitha glared at him fiercely.
Unnoticed by the others, Ambrose approached Alpha Elliott, bowing his head for the first time in many years.
"You're still so stubborn even at this age. You used to have Andrea to keep you in check," he complained, which brought them closer.
"After all these years, what are you still angry about? Do you think cutting off relations can sever the blood ties between us? I have your blood in my veins, and he is your grandson. He has your blood in his veins too."
Zander leaned over from the left, reaching out to support Alpha Elliott, his hand seemingly accidentally brushing against Tabitha's hand.
The touch felt like a poisonous snake's caress to Tabitha.
She quickly shook his hand off and took a few steps away from Zander.
