Just like I had predicted my mum was indeed buying something, but she had wasted a lot of time downstairs so I knew without being told that Mama Aghogho must have told her about Scar and I.
I took my bath immediately and used my mum's concealer to cover the side of my face where Ken had hit me just like I had done this morning before going to work.
The bruise had healed considerably but the marks were still there and I didn't want my mum to see it.
I thought of the money now in my account and came to terms quite quickly with the fact that I've been moved from being a thousandnaire even if there was no word like that, to a millionaire.
I decided to give my mum forty million and to keep the remaining ten just in case she decided to do something stupid like give my dad the whole money or give the money out just anything that looks like that, or she freaks out and gets me arrested. She will never do that though, I hope.
And yes I needed to give Scar his own share of the money. I would ask him about that later on.
"Mirabel come out and take your food." My mum called out to me from the parlor. She had rushed to warm dinner just when she came back.
I would have done it but I had to take my bath first. I was smelling like Scar and I doubted if my mom would overlook it if she caught wind of it.
My brothers rushed into the room with their food looking all happy and excited. I wondered what they were up.
"Why are you both not eating on the dining?" I asked them crossing my hands on my chest.
"Mummy said we can eat here.." Daniel replied, sitting down on his bed.
"Yes its true." David completed. He wanted to sit on my bed but I gave him a warning look. He immediately sat down besides Daniel.
"If you guys dirty this room you will sweep it." I threatened.
Daniel was already eating, always the foodie and David had his eyes set on me in a cute way, ever mischievous.
"Will you play game with us if they bring light?" David asked, beaming.
I remembered how they both disturbed me last week, begging me to play computer games with them. I later agreed after much pain had been inflicted on all parties, mine being the worst.
I thought of how my Mum was forced to buy the game for them in the first place. Daniel entered the toilet with a mat and threatened her that he would henceforth sleep in the toilet since she didn't want to get them the game.
He was crying profusely, I thought he had lost an arm. For one week all I could hear was game..game..game. I was beginning to think I had lost my mind or the world was finally ending and God wanted to judge us using games.
The former had been most likely.
It was really unbearable until my mum came back home one afternoon and surprised them with a terminator. "I hope I can drink water and drop the cup now." She had said as she gave them the game. They both hugged her and promised her the world.
My brothers celebrated the game as if they had won a lottery. I still don't get boys and their obsession with games. We all laughed about it anyway.
That is till my dad started his occasional ranting about my mum wasting money and spoiling us and how we must not always get what we wanted. This brought about another era in our home which I simply called, the infamous game revolution. It was torture to summarize it all and I didn't want to experience that again so even though I really wanted to say no, I didn't have much of a choice.
"Yes. I will play with you guys but you both have to do your assignment first. Got it."
"Yes!" David said happily as he clasped hands with Daniel.
"How was school today?" I asked them totally forgetting about my mom calling me, or maybe I remembered but was too scared to face her yet.
"One of my wicked teacher flogged my friend very hard." Daniel said with food in his mouth.
I was about to reply when my mum's voice stopped me.
"Mira!" She called, now sounding very impatient. My heart skipped and I ran out of the room without even thinking.
