"Alright." Vanessa agreed, and Sylvester stood up, adjusting his jacket to leave and see the doctor, so he would show him the new room.
As he turned to leave, Vanessa called after him. "Sweetheart."
He stopped and looked back at her. "Yeah?"
"If this blows up in our faces... just know I’m blaming you," she said, half-joking but with some trace of seriousness.
Sylvester chuckled nervously. "Noted. Let’s make sure it doesn’t come to that."
With that, he left the room, his mind racing, thinking of how to convince Anabel when she comes back. He knew the risks were high, but at this point, there was no turning back.
In less than thirty minutes, the room was arranged, and Sylvester took her there.
"I will stay outside. So when she comes back, I will tell her that you are in the theater. That you are undergoing the surgery.
"Alright, just be careful."
"Thank you. We will be through with this soon." He replied and left, ready to face Anabel.

(Two hours later)
.
Annabel arrived at the hospital like someone who was ready for a fight. Her car pulled up in front of the entrance, and two members of her private security team stepped out first and opened the car door for her. She was dressed impeccably with radiating authority. She stepped out with a hard and uncompromising expression. She wasn't in the mood for more excuses from Sylvester or the doctor.
The hospital staff stole glances at her as she strode authoritatively through the hallway. It was as if she was the CEO. They began to ask questions. Who is she? What is she here for? It was as if it was her first visit to the hospital. No one had noticed her since she had been visiting. The receptionist was struggling to recognize her. "I think I've seen her before."
Her security team was flanking her on either side. It was evident that this wasn’t going to be a casual visit.
Sylvester, who had been pacing nervously near the waiting area, froze when he saw her approaching. His heart sank as he noticed the security accompanying her. He swallowed hard, trying to compose himself as she stopped directly in front of him.
"Let's go and see the doctor." Anabel said. "Vanessa is coming with me, whether the doctor likes it or not."
Sylvester hesitated for a moment, trying to appear calm. "I don't think there is a need to see the doctor. The surgery has started already."
"It has? What happened?" Anabel asked, surprised. "He got scared and changed his mind, or what?"
Sylvester cleared his throat. "Not that. He refused, but fortunately for me, a friend of mine finally came through and lent me the money. He paid all the money, and the surgery started immediately."
"Are you being serious?"
"Yeah, I had been disturbing him, and he finally came to rescue. He told me that I will pay him back in a week." Sylvester replied.
"That's nice. I'm happy for you." Anabel said, but deep down, she was feeling bad for not helping. Desmond had made her hesitate. Now, it was as if it wasn't a setup as Desmond said. Sylvester may be telling the truth.
"Desmond may be jealous and doesn't want me to help them." She thought to herself. Though something in her wanted to confirm everything.
"I want to check on her. Is that possible?" Anabel asked.
"You can’t see her right now. She's in the theater. They won’t allow anyone, not even me, into the operating room." Sylvester answered.
"You are telling me that I can’t even see on her?" Anabel asked.
"Yes, you can't. It's the rules. They can’t have anyone interfering during the procedure."
