Pregnant Billionaire Heiress Gave Birth To Twins

Pick up, Desmond

Ch. 172 / 286 Apr 29, 2026

The deputy manager's eyes widened in shock as he realized that Daniella was dead serious about kicking Kane out of the company. He took a step forward and raised his hands in a placating gesture as he tried to reason with her.

"Mrs. Daniella, please, you need to reconsider. I thought you were joking, but I can see you are serious. Removing Kane shouldn't be an option at all. It will affect not just the department but the entire company. This is not a decision to be taken lightly." He paused, taking a deep breath, as he tried to think of more reasons so she could understand.

"Kane has been with the company for a short time, but he has shown how talented he is. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge in programming that would be difficult to replace. Losing him would be a significant blow to our operations, and I'm not sure we are prepared to deal with the fallout. Your husband, the CEO, hired him by himself. He employed him for a reason, which he has proven enough. We valued his contributions to the company. Even though you are taking over the company, I truly believe that Kane is an asset we cannot afford to lose for the progress of this company." The deputy manager finished, but Daniella's expression remained static.

She didn't even bother to acknowledge the deputy manager's concerns about her decision and shoot him a withering glare that silenced any further objections, making the deputy manager feel a shiver run down his spine as he realized that he was dealing with a force to be reckoned with.

"My decision is final." Daniella said authoritatively, leaving no room for objection. "Take him out."

The deputy manager felt defeated as he realized that nothing he could say or do would change her decision. He knew that all she wanted was to assert her authority, to show everyone that she was in charge, and that she would not be swayed by any opposition.

Watching Daniella's expression, he could tell that she was enjoying this, that she was reveling in the power and control that came with being the new boss. She didn't want to change her mind. She didn't want to show any weakness or vulnerability, because she knew that would undermine her authority. She wanted to be feared and respected, to make everyone around her tremble at the mention of her name.

The guards turned toward Kane, but he didn't panic. He continued to gaze at Daniella. "I'm sure your husband doesn't know you are here. I will make sure Desmond hears about this. You haven't seen the last of me."

Daniella, however, remained unfazed by Kane's threats. She didn't even shake a bit. "Telling him won't bring you back here. So don't even dream of coming back here. By the time Desmond hears about this, I'm already the CEO. You are fired, and it's irreversible." She said and turned to the security guards, who were still standing behind Kane, looking uncertain about what to do next.

"What are you two still waiting for? Get him out of my sight. He's no longer welcome here. Kick him out of the premises immediately."

The security guards reached out to take Kane by the arms. Kane tried to resist as he continued to glare at Daniella. Since the guards were too strong for him, they subdued him and led him away.

Mr. Barnard watched with a satisfactory smile playing on his lips as he watched Kane being escorted out of the office. He was glad to see Kane go, relieved that he would no longer be around to rub shoulders with him or threaten his position.

The deputy manager knew that firing Kane was a mistake. A mistake that could harm the company both in the short and long term. Kane wasn’t just another programmer; he was one of the most talented and capable employees they had, someone who had already proven his worth by navigating complex challenges, such as restoring the system and implementing outstanding upgrades. Removing him would be disastrous, and he was determined to stop Daniella from making such a rash decision. Now, the only person who could put an end to this madness was Desmond himself, not even the manager.

He moved a little bit far from Daniella, Pulled his phone from his pocket and dialed Desmond’s number immediately, then placed it on his ear. He began to pace back and forth as the phone began to ring.

"Come on, pick it up." He muttered under his breath, his eyes darting around as he tried to maintain his composure.
