Leonard was planning to leave the house when he heard a knock on his door. He paused on his track and tried to recall if he was expecting anybody.
He couldn't recall inviting anybody. "Who will that be?" He asked himself before walking towards the door to open it.
"Who is that?" He asked while holding the door handle.
"It's me. Open the door." Daniella replied, and Leonard was surprised to hear her voice. He quickly opened the door with a smile, but what he saw made his face change.
Daniella was standing with nothing. He looked around in search of her car, but he didn't see it.
"Daniella? What happened? You are empty and ......" He looked around again. "Where is your car? I can't see it." Leonard asked, his eyes scanning her for any signs of distress.
Daniella forced a smile, trying to mask the frustration that was eating her up. "It's a long story, Leonard. Let me settle in first."
"Alright, come in," Leonard said, stepping aside to let her enter. He was still confused.
Once inside, Daniella sank into the couch, feeling the weight of the day's events settle on her shoulders. Leonard sat beside her with concern written on his face. "What happened, Daniella? Why are you here empty and without your car? You are not even with your phone and handbag. What is happening?"
Daniella sighed. "Desmond took my phone and prevented me from taking the car key. He was furious after I handed him the divorce papers." Daniella said, and Leonard's eyes widened in shock.
"He took your phone? And the car keys? How can he do that? I thought the car and the phone were your personal belongings."
"He said he won't let me take all the things he bought for me. He was so mean. I never expected him to react that way." She went on to recount what happened, from presenting Desmond with the divorce papers to his explosive reaction. She told Leonard about how Desmond had snatched her phone away and refused to let her leave with the car and other things.
"Desmond was livid. He couldn't believe I was serious about the divorce. He kept saying he wouldn't let me take everything from him." Daniella finished, and Leonard's expression grew more concerned. "Did he hurt you?"
"No, he didn't hurt me physically," Daniella replied, shaking her head.
"With your story, I guess he didn't sign the divorce paper." Leonard said.
"Yeah, he refused to sign it."
"Then you should sue him in court and fight for what is rightly yours."
"That's exactly what I told him. I told him that I will sue him in court and make sure I get what I'm entitled to." Daniella replied.
"And what did he say??"
"He wasn't bothered. It was as if it wasn't a big deal for him. Though, I don't care. I won't let him intimidate me. I will make sure I get half of all his properties."
"Do you know all his properties?" Leonard asked.
"Yeah, and I've already documented them. My next move is to meet my lawyer friend. She will be the one to handle this case." Daniella replied.
"That's great. Desmond won't stand a chance." Leonard placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "And I'll be right there with you. We won't let Desmond intimidate us."
Daniella leaned back on the couch with a contented smile on her face. "I can't believe how far we have come, babe. This is just the beginning for us."
"We are going to build the life we have always dreamed of, babe. Nothing can stop us now."
"Yeah, let's celebrate our potential winning."
"What do you want?" Daniella asked.
"Let's start with some rounds of sex." Leonard whispered. "I've missed you so much. I've missed the feel of you, the taste of you, the way you make me feel like I'm the only man alive." He leaned in and kissed her on the lips. Daniella responded, kissing him back. His hands wrapped around her waist, pulling her close as he deepened the kiss.
As they kissed, Leonard's hands roamed over Daniella's body, reacquainting himself with every curve and contour. He lifted Daniella up, and she wrapped her legs around his waist as he carried her towards the bedroom. She couldn't wait to get properly fucked.
