My office, not yours

Ch. 177 / 286 Apr 29, 2026

Desmond stormed into the room with a different allure. He looked up and his sharp eyes immediately landed on Daniella. His posture was tense. On his way to the company, he instinctively checked his phone only to see missed calls and a couple of messages from the deputy manager, telling him about Daniella’s disruptive behavior.

Daniella didn't even budge at all when he walked in. She have the confidence that nothing will happen. That Desmond's presence will not change anything.

"Sir, thank God you are here. You are just in time." The deputy manager said but he ignored him and faced Daniella.

"What are you doing here, Daniella?" Desmond demanded. His voice was cold and authoritative. "And who even let you into my company?"

"Sir, I—" The deputy manger wanted to explain, but Daniella quickly interrupted, raising her hand.

"Why the hell do you want to explain to him?You don't have to give any explanation to him." She said to the deputy manager and turned to Desmond.

"Listen carefully, Desmond. I don't need any kind of permission to enter my company. I have every right to be here. I came to inspect the company I’m about to take over. I would have called the security guards to send you away, but I think you have some things to sort out for your dismissal."

Desmond was surprised to hear her say that. Her gut was out of this world. She was even saying she would have kicked him away.

"What makes you so confident that you will have this company?" Desmond asked. "What gives you the audacity to act as if it’s already yours? Because with the way I'm seeing you, you have already envisioned this company as yours." Desmond asked, and Daniella smirked with a glimmer of triumph in her eyes.

"Because it is mine, Desmond." She replied. "You don't need to argue that. The divorce papers are waiting for you, and nothing will change the fact that I’m taking half of everything. Including this company. It’s my right, and by tomorrow, it will be official."

The deputy manager and the chief financial officer exchanged wide-eyed glances. That was when they realized for the first time, the depth of the conflict between Desmond and Daniella. They knew they were married, but they didn't have any idea about their divorce.

Desmond stepped closer to her and looked into her eyes. "Let me make one thing clear, Daniella. You can never be here. I will advise you to put your mind off this company. You will never have it—not now, not tomorrow, not ever." He stated but Daniella’s confident demeanor didn’t shake. She tilted her chin upward with a wicked smile and replied, "You think you can stop me? You have no chance, Desmond. Everything is in my favor. By tomorrow, after you sign the papers, I Will be walking into this company as its new boss. So, I will advise you to start packing your personal belongings. Especially those ridiculous portraits of Anabel and yourself that are hanging in my office. If you don't remove it, I will burn it down, then replace it with mine and my boyfriend."

For some seconds, Desmond was confused. Which office was she talking about? The only office that have his portrait and Anabel's portrait was his office. How did she get into his office.

"Wait....You mean my office?" Desmond asked in confusion.

"Point of correction." She snapped her hand in a gesture of emphasis. "Your former office. Because right now, it's no longer your office. It's mine."
