Pregnant Billionaire Heiress Gave Birth To Twins

Let me see the Chief medical officer

Ch. 144 / 286 Apr 29, 2026

She asked and Sylvester nodded nervously, "I'm with you."

But deep down, Sylvester knew that he wasn't with her. All he wanted was for her to make the transaction and not to transfer Vanessa to another hospital. It wasn't the plan.

"I assure you, Miss Annabel, that we are doing everything we can for Vanessa. Nothing will happen to her. We are treating her already. The only thing remaining is the surgery, which will begin once the payment is made. This hospital is equipped with the best resources and specialists. Transferring her is not an option. Vanessa is in safe hands."

At this moment, Annabel's patience was wearing thin. She decided to take a different approach. Since the doctor can't comply peacefully, maybe using violence would work out.

"Listen, Doctor, if you won't release Vanessa to us, then I will take this matter to the police, and I will make sure you regret ever putting profits over patients. Vanessa deserves immediate treatment, and it's crystal clear that you are more concerned with lining your hospital pockets than providing adequate care. Your blatant disregard for human life is appalling, and I won't stand idly by while you prioritize the hospital and your bank account over Vanessa's well-being. And right now, I'm not even convinced we will be getting the best surgery here since all you care about is money." Anabel said and Sylvester began to feel uncomfortable. He doesn't want it to involve the cops or any other persons.

"Miss Annabel, I fully comprehend the depth of your distress and frustration regarding Vanessa's situation. I understand that this may not align with your wishes, but I assure you that my primary concern is ensuring Vanessa receives the best possible care. Involving the police in this matter will not provide a solution. It's crucial we focus on the most effective and pragmatic approach. I urge you to make the necessary payment, and we can promptly proceed with her surgery. I genuinely believe this is the most sensible and effective way to address the situation, and I'm confident that we can work together to ensure Vanessa receives the care and treatment she deserves."

"Yes, babe." Sylvester chimed in. "Please, let's not involve the police. I don't want to approach this with violence. They will make things worse." Sylvester finished, and Anabel turned to him.

"This is for Vanessa's good, babe. I'm sure you don't want to lose your cousin sister. If the doctor won't cooperate, we need to take action. I'm not going to stand by and do nothing. I will take Vanessa whether the hospital likes it or not."

"Anabel, please reconsider. The doctor is doing everything he can. I believe in him. We can't afford to take unnecessary risks."

Annabel looked back at the doctor with a more serious voice and look. "Doctor, if you truly care about Vanessa's well-being, you will do the surgery immediately or consider other options. I won't back down until I'm convinced that we are doing everything we can to save her." She said, and the doctor sighed slightly.

"Miss Annabel, I understand your concern, but my professional judgment tells me that transferring Vanessa is not in her best interest. Please trust that we are doing everything possible for her. You can find another way and make the transaction, then resolve it with your bank later."

At this point, Anabel could see that the doctor was never ready to listen to her. She needed to find a way and confirm her suspicion. She has the power to do anything. Taking Vannesa to another hospital shouldn't be a challenge.

"I want to see the chief medical officer, or rather , the CEO of this private hospital." Anabel demanded.

"I'm sorry, but you can't see him." The doctor replied, and Anabel smiled.

"I can see you don't like your job. If you know who I am, you will take me to him without hesitation."
