"You cannot do anything, and don't threaten me. Threatening me won't change anything. I am a top doctor, and no random lady who thinks she has money will make me lose my job."
"By the time I reached out to the CEO, you will understand." Anabel said, and the doctor smiled.
"This is one of the biggest private hospitals in this country. How on earth do you think you can see the CEO?" The doctor asked.
"It's very obvious that you don't know who I am. But don't worry; by the time you are fired, your eyes will clear. Even the CEO will not be safe with me." Anabel said, and the doctor waved her off dismissively. "Stop bragging in my office. You are just a wealthy woman with a big ego. Nothing more. You are an ant in front of the CEO of this hospital. So just calm down and listen to me." The doctor said Anabel's frustration began to boil over.
"Annabel, please, I don't want us to escalate this." Sylvester began to beg Anabel. "We need to think about Vanessa's well-being."
The doctor scoffed, shaking his head. "Sylvester, stop begging her. She can't do anything. She's just bragging. Just because she has money, she thinks she can do anything. I'm not even sure if she's what she portrays as."
But Sylvester continued to beg Annabel, knowing the lengths she could go to and what she's capable of. Apart from that, all his plans will be exposed, and he would lose her, which was his greatest fear. "Annabel, please reconsider. The doctor is doing everything he can."
", He's not doing anything. You can clearly see that he doesn't want to treat her. I need to put her in his place so he will learn his lesson. I've been so soft with him." Anabel said, and just then, her phone rang suddenly, interrupting the tense standoff.
She glanced at the screen, and it was her secretary. She swiped and placed the phone on her ear.
"Ma'am. Mr. Zacklid is here with some people. They want to see you." The secretary said.
"But he didn't inform me that he's coming. Anyway, I'm coming." Anabel replied and cut the call.
"I just received a call from my company. I need to be there now. But mark my words, doctor. I will be back, and if I return and I don't see any progress, you'll regret it." She finished and turned to Sylvester. "I will be back soon."
With that, she stormed out of the office, leaving a stunned silence in her wake. Sylvester watched her leave as his anxiety grew. He knew that Anabel's threats were not empty.
Once Annabel was gone, Sylvester turned to the doctor. "Doctor, there are some things you don't understand. I didn't tell you this, but Anabel is the only daughter of the richest man in the city, Sir Orton. She's not someone to be taken lightly."
"What? You mean that is Sir Orton's daughter? The one he hasn't made known to the public?" The doctor asked, and Sylvester nodded. "Yes, and she's capable of making your life very difficult. We need to change our plans. I don't think this is going to work anymore."
"So what are you suggesting?" The doctor asked.
Sylvester thought quickly. "We need to move Vanessa to another room and lie to Anabel that the surgery has begun. She will be calm. We will tell her that my friend paid for the surgery."
"Alright." The doctor nodded. "But what about the money you have spent? You know you had already spent a lot of money concerning this. Will you just give up like that?" The doctor asked and Sylvester began to think about it. He has spent a lot of money already.
"Why don't you tell her that a friend borrowed you the money to pay in a week. You will stand a chance to get it back from her." The doctor added.
