Anabel couldn't help but laugh at Daniella's words. "This is so funny. I didn't know you were a comedian."

"What's funny about what I said now? You should be thanking me for informing you on time. You should be grateful to me for letting you know." Daniella said.

"I’m not sure where you are getting your ideas, Daniella, but let me make one thing clear. I don’t need Desmond in my life anymore. I've found a man who will be a better father to my unborn child. I'm even wondering why you left the man you snatched from someone. He's no longer taking good care of you?

"Well, let me give you the full picture, since you are clearly out of the loop." Daniella began. "I never wanted to marry Desmond and live with him forever after. My intention was to marry and divorce him, then take half of his wealth, and it worked. I never loved him, and he's not even the father of my baby."

"You must be joking."

"I'm serious. I have a boyfriend, and he's the father. We just used Desmond, and soon, we will be enjoying and partying with his money. I never knew Desmond was worth more than a billion dollars until I saw all the documents of his properties. So I'm going to be very rich soon." Daniella laughed.

"So Desmond is a billionaire, and you think he won't do anything to protect his wealth? Don't you think that his not flaunting his wealth is a sign that he's overprotective of his money?"

"He loved, cherished, and trusted me. He will never think of protecting his wealth from me." Daniella said, and Anabel smiled. "I wonder what is giving you the confidence when you are about to lose everything."

Daniella’s smirk faltered for a brief moment, but she quickly recovered. "It’s already happening, Anabel. I'm not losing anything." She shot back. "The divorce papers will be signed on Friday, and the court will make sure I get what’s rightfully mine. So, yes, I am confident. I'm not as stupid as you, who left without getting anything from him. I will be leaving him richer than you could ever dream of being."

"Richer than me?" Anabel chuckled. "You need to calm down, Daniella. We are never in the same league. Just because I'm a simple girl who doesn't flaunt her wealth doesn't mean we are in the same class. Listen, Daniella, even if you drained Desmond completely, you wouldn't even reach my level."

Daniella’s face reddened, and her voice rose slightly. "You think you are better than me? Just because you have billionaire sugar daddies? Let me tell you something: bragging doesn't lead anywhere. I will advise you to stop prostitution. Maybe I will consider hiring you as a receptionist when I finally claim one of Desmond's companies."

"It's so funny that you are already thinking of how to manage a company that doesn't belong to you."

"Because I must surely have one soon. I'm not begging you; it's just a privilege. Don't let your ego make you lose opportunity. You will not have this kind of opportunity again."

"Yes, I will not have an opportunity for a company you never get access to. I don't know you are this stupid and dumb." Anabel replied.

"You’re just bitter because you left with nothing." Daniella’s temper flared, her hands clenching into fists. "Admit it, Anabel. You are jealous that Desmond chose me over you, and I'm making myself rich with his fortune." Daniella added, but Anabel didn’t flinch. Her expression was steady.

"Jealous? Of what, exactly? I'm just having pity on you. You might think you’ve won, but deep down, you know you are nothing more than a leech, feeding off what others have built. Though I'm having a feeling that you are about to lose your host."

"Say what you want. All I know is that I will win. And once I walk away with Desmond’s fortune, I will be untouchable. And you will still be here, wasting your life with your sugar daddies." Daniella said, and Anabel shook her head in pity.

"You think stealing someone else’s wealth makes you untouchable? That’s sad, Daniella. Truly. Because even if you get everything you want, you will never have what really matters. You will still be empty." Anabel said, and without waiting for a reply, she turned back to the counter, where the server had just placed her order. She picked up the container of fruit salad and glanced over her shoulder at Daniella, who stood there fuming.

"Anyway, good luck with your little scheme." Anabel said with a faint smile. "You need it, but I doubt you will get it."

And with that, she walked out of the restaurant. Daniella remained rooted to the spot, her hands trembling with anger as she replayed Anabel’s words in her mind.

She had come to gloat, but instead, she was trashed. As she stormed out of the restaurant, she vowed to prove Anabel wrong.
