Desmond finally showed up
The deputy manager complied immediately and led her down a series of hallways to the CFO’s office. When they got to the CFO’s office, the deputy manager gestured toward the door. Daniella pushed it open without hesitation and stepped inside with a kind of confidence as if she already owned the space.
Bryan, the chief financial officer, was seated at his desk, reviewing a stack of reports. He looked up in surprise when Daniella entered and stood immediately, offering her a polite smile. "Mrs. Daniella," he greeted warmly. "It’s an honor to see you here. I've been trying to reach your husband but his number was not going through. Anyway, What brings you to our company , and into my office?"
Daniella returned the smile with a cool nod. "Point of correction, I’m not here as Mrs. Daniella." She replied. "I’m here as the incoming CEO of this company."
Bryan’s smile faltered slightly. "Incoming CEO?" He repeated. "I wasn’t informed about any changes to leadership. When did this happen, and Why haven't your husband inform me?"
"It doesn't matter now." She replied. "I'm informing you now. By tomorrow, Desmond will hand the company over to me, and I will become the new CEO."
Bryan hesitated before speaking up. "I see." He nodded. "Well, as of now, Mr. Desmond is still the CEO, and I haven’t received any official documentation regarding a leadership change.or anything related to it."
"Official documents will come tomorrow, along with everything else. For now, you will follow my instructions. I'm here to take five hundred thousand dollars for personal use." She said, and Bryan blinked, taken aback by the sudden demand. "Five hundred thousand dollars?" He repeated.
"Mrs. Daniella, I’m afraid it doesn’t work that way. All financial transactions require the CEO’s approval. And... nothing like personal use. Even the CEO has never demanded money for personal his use."
"Procedures and rules were about to change. I am the new CEO, and under my leadership, things will operate differently. Now, release the money to me." She demanded, and Bryan shook his head. "With all due respect, Mrs. Daniella, you are not yet the CEO, and I cannot bypass standard protocols. This request isn’t one I can fulfill."
"Do you not understand who you’re speaking to? I have already told you that things are changing. You either get on board, or you get out. I'm not here to trade words with anybody. Work with me or leave."
"Mrs. Daniella, I’ve served as CFO for years, and I take my responsibilities seriously. These funds belong to the company, and I won’t release them without proper authorization from the current CEO. It’s not personal. This is simply how the system works."
Daniella got more angry and leaned closer to him before saying, "Perhaps you need a reminder of who’s in charge. I don’t care how things worked before. This is my company now, and I will make the rules. Refusing my orders is not an option." She said, but Bryan didn't shake.
"I appreciate your conviction, but until I receive official confirmation of your position as CEO, I cannot comply."
"Then consider yourself fired," she said coldly.
"If you feel that’s necessary, Mrs. Daniella, so be it. But until my dismissal is finalized by Mr. Desmond, I will not jeopardize the company’s financial integrity, and I will not leave this office."
Daniella’s smirk widened as she turned to the deputy manager.
"I think I'm joking. Call the security to kick this man out!" She said, but Just then a voice was heard outside the office. "The CEO is here!"
