"Thanks for saving me!" I greeted the handsome dude that just helped me.
"You are welcome! What are you doing here alone. Don't you know there is no road here?" He asked .
"I am just a stranger here," I said to him.
"What pack are you from?" He asked looking at me expectantly.
"Howler moon pack." I responded to him. His eyes grew brighter in the air as I pronounced as if he knew about the pack.
"Howler moon pack?" He asked once again, nodding his head slightly.
"Yes". I responded to him, but then he was lost to his thoughts. His finger was in his mouth as nodded.
"Hope nothing!" As I asked him, he jerked up to life and answered in a jiffy:
"No-no". May I know what you are doing here?" He asked pretentiously.
"I was suspended in my pack and also in the school for three months and the only place I could hide my head is here, in the wood," I responded to him, parting my lips in shame.
"But why? Not a pretty damsel like you," he said, a blush radiated off my face.
"I was accused of violation and seduction of two incoming Alphas who happens to be my classmates."
"Oh! So sorry for that. Will you mind if I take you to our base? My members are waiting for me at the edge of the border," he inquired.
"Sure! I will appreciate it," I responded.
"I am Douglas and you?" He offered me his hand and I took it.
"I am Amaya!" I responded, smiling and giggling at him.
There was something peculiar about this guy. He seemed to be bold, fierce, and attentive unlike the duo fighting to take me in my school.
We made our way together into the woods, Douglas leading through the dark and dangerous terrain of the deepest wood. Only the goodness knows how many years he had spent in this darkest place.
"Mind your legs on that layer." Douglas warned me to be careful of the poisonous plants and the treacherous drops in the landscape. As for him, it's no fears since he is a werewolf, but as for me, I needed to take note of it.
As we pony up to his members, he cracked some jokes and made me laugh to the extent that I began to feel safer in his presence. We talked about our lives in the outside world, and I shared with him my ups and downs. He was so attentive and I found myself enjoying his company more than I ever would have imagined.
Douglas was patient with me. He should have shifted to his wolf and increased his pace, but he waited for me as we found our way out of the woods to the edge.
As we emerged from the densest part of the woods, Douglas turned to me, cheering at me and asked,
"You are a beautiful lady and you have a potential," he said, staring at me. I smiled as he said. He would be the first person telling me such ever since forever.
"But you need training if you're going to survive out here." He adviced. I chuckled and smiled as he made mention of that.
I nodded eagerly and responded:
"I will be glad to be trained, Douglas."
We finally got to the edge of the wood where his fellow mates were all seated. They were all on black bandana, short trouser, and their face were marked with a cross sign. As soon as they saw me approached them, they wide eye and looked at me sternly as I walked behind Douglas. But just before we got to them, a tall man among them stood up.
"Who is she, Douglas?" He asked, crinkling his nose and glaring daggers at me.
"She is falsely accused by her pack and suspended for three months," Douglas responded.
"But how does that affect the warlock rogues?" He asked.
"I want her to train with us for the period of three months before she returns back to her pack."
"Douglas, you are one of the leaders of the warlock rogues and you know our rules." Another person sneaked in.
"I know the rules but we must just help her else she would be killed by monsters and vultures of the forest," Douglas pleaded.
"In that case, her feeding, training, and her well being would be handled by you," the man said.
"Alright, agreed!" Douglas bow and said, exclaiming.
"And you hope you know who we are?" He asked me, fear grabbed me as he turned to me.
I glanced at Douglas, and a slight nod of his head made me respond, " Yes, I do."
"Good! The last spy we caught was eaten by us," he warned and I nodded.
He led the way and the rest members followed him alongside me and Douglas.
"Who is he?" I asked Douglas.
"He is my biological father," Douglas responded and I gave an exasperated sigh.
"Wow! I see why he allowed me in," I said and laughed together with him.
