Playboy Alpha and His Contract Mate

Chapter 25

Ch. 25 / 102 Jan 23, 2026

I hung my bag over my shoulder and walked out of the pack patrol border. I was going to a place I had no idea of, a place I might end it all. I did my best, but my stepmom, and my stepsister coupled with Bloodmoon pack members made sure I was sent out on suspension for three months. Well, maybe the moon goddess was planning a better way for my death.

I slowed my steps as I got to the front of the mighty heavy wood that was towered in front of me. The mystic sounds of owls, birds, and vultures, simmered into me and fear ran through my spine for a moment. I swallowed in fear, grabbing my bag so tightly to my body like a baby, and walked through the dark wood.

As I walked further into the woods, the trees were undoubtedly close in around me, blocking out the light in my direction of motion. I suddenly became aware of the sounds of rustling and breaking twigs all around me like a huge tornado. I couldn't see anything through the dense underbrush, but I knew that something was out there, keeping track of me as I took my steps.

My heart pounding in my chest as if it would break out as I now maintained a steady slow pace in the direction opposite the direction of the howling sounds of the scavengers. Not that I was ready to fight or defend myself but I was trying to know the kind of death looming my way.

I tried to fasten my pace, but the ground was slurry and covered in fallen leaves, shrubs, and debris. I slipped and stumbled, catching myself on low-hanging branches that spun across a hollow path and then I quivered as panic began to set in, swinging in the air like a pendulum Bob.

I lowered my gaze and gasped in fear in such a way that I almost lost my grasp on the branches that accommodated me then I screamed aloud for help as the branches began to lose their patience but no one showed up. The only thing that I could feel was the fainting sound of my scream down the hollow path.

I was starting to lose hope, crying like a baby when I noticed movement in the shadows. A shadowy figure emerged from the trees, moving with incredible speed and agility. I looked back and saw him, a tall, dark, and handsome guy running towards me. He was very skillful and graced as he approached me. He was on a black bandana, and his trousers could barely touch his knees. He looked so much like a rogue, a member of a group of skilled individuals, the warlock rogues of the North.

The warlock rogues of the North as we were taught in the Moon school are patrollers. They barely enter the woods but once they do they come in scores. And their signature matched exactly with this man running towards me.

He ponied up towards me, his eyes skimming the trees around us for any signs of danger. I could see the tension in his muscles as he breathed profusely and stared at the trees intently.

"Hey, Stranger! Keep calm else you fall. Follow whatever I tell you, alright?" He roared aloud, his voice piercing through my grasp. I nodded slightly in response.

"You need to stride away from the branch by the left and dive for the right." He commanded.

"What? You mean...?" I mumbled in fear. I thought this dude was going to save me. How did he expect a mere human like me to stride away from these branches?

"I can't! Let me die!" I said in a single tone and looked away, the creaking sound of the loose branches screeched, and fear engulfed me again.

"Come one, Stranger! Just do it," he said again.

"I am not skillful, I am just a mere Omega She-wolf who is rumored to be a human. I am vulnerable and wretched. Nothing better awaits me," I cried aloud as the branches began to break.

"What you need is not how skillful you are but courage and self-determination. I don't care whether you are a human or a vampire, all I need from you is courage." He motivated as fast as he could.

Adrenaline rushed into my body as his voice motivated me. I used to think a human is as weak as the werewolf claims. I believe that the werewolves had more power to do things like this not until this dude motivated me now. The fact in his eyes and assurance made me grab boldness at least once in my entire life.

I closed my eyes and gathered courage from inside me and strode at the branches by the right in the air. I caught it successfully, the first time doing greatness, then the dude screamed:

"Now jump!" He commanded without hesitation. I jumped and he caught me in the air, while the branches that I was holding broke and fell into the shallow.

I was in his hands, staring at the death that should have killed me, and goosebumps masked me.

"Stranger, you are safe here!" He said and dropped me on the floor.
