No one noticed Cronos when he shimmered into the corner of the hospital room. He could not believe who was sitting on that bed holding her mother against her. The only human he truly loved and could not be with. His son was lying on the bed with an IV in his arm. Approaching the bed he stammered, “What happened? What are you doing here? When did you leave the safety of the fortress?” He said to the white-haired girl.
Jumping up and letting her sister move into her place, the white-haired girl put the older woman’s head on the other’s shoulder and ran to Cronos. She threw herself into his arms and cried, “He is going to be okay; we were attacked by rogues when we were almost here. The warrior Eric and some others helped us. He then escorted us to safety.”
Cronos held the girl and was stroking her hair, “Why did you leave? Why didn’t you call for me?”
“We had to. It is time Cronos, and you know what that means. Katia has called us all to the Moon Touched pack. She created the pack for those of us who need safe harbor and have special abilities needed to win this war with the winged ones of the heavens.” The girl said softly.
“Evelynn, I know but why did you not call me? I would have escorted you here. How bad was Leo hurt?” Cronos asked her tenderly. He acted as if she would break if he were to harsh with her.
Nuzzling against him, Evelynn responded, “It was horrible we were doing everything we could to protect him, Cronos. The rogues acted as if it was only him, they wanted and tried to rip him to pieces. He was to strong though and gave as good as he got. You would have been so proud of our boy. He remembered everything you taught him.”
Nathan, Mark, Kane, and Eric, all raised their eyebrows at the girl Evelynn’s words “our boy”. Kane shrugged his shoulder mouthing, “News to me.” Kane knew that there was no way Cronos wife Rhea knew about the human witch and Cronos. If she did then all hell would break loose.
Turning back to the couple discussing their son Kane took a good look at the other girl realizing that the three women were mother and daughters. Oldest must be Gammy that his mate and her sister spoke about. The woman did not look old enough to be a mother let alone Gammy. Just then Gammy let out a snore that would make a grizzly bear proud and everyone else chuckled.
Cronos asked, “Where are my witches staying? They need to clean up and rest.”
Mark answered, “They will stay on the Alpha level, so we know they are safe. You can take them to the Luna rooms since Talon has moved into my rooms with me and doesn’t use her rooms.”
Evelyn interrupted, “Take Rose and Gammy to the rooms. I want to stay with Leo in case he wakes up. He will be frightened in a strange place surrounded by people he does not know.”
Sighing Cronos said, “Okay little deer, I will be back as quick as I can. These wolves will keep you company until I get back.”
She nodded her head and accepted his kiss on the forehead. Mark asked Eric to go with Cronos and help the younger girl, Rose. She looked as if she was ready to fall over. “I know you all have some questions, and I will answer them when I return.” Cronos was saying as he scooped up Gammy and went out the door.
Once he was gone, Kane sputtered, “If Rhea ever finds out she will kill him, the girl, and keep the boy as her servant.”
“How do you know?” Nathan wanted to know.
Kane informed them, “Because that was what she did when she caught her first husband, Ammon, cheating on her. When she found out her had children with the other woman, she imprisoned them as he servants.”
Evelynn interjected, “That is why he has kept us hidden in the fortress. What I did not tell him is that the Alpha keeping Talon and Amara locked away stubbled across the fortress and took us to his lands. That was how we met the white wolves.”
“How long has it been since you have seen Cronos?” Mark wondered.
“A year and a half. The Alpha found us shortly after Cronos visited last and he did not know when he would be able to return. He was concerned for the moon goddess twins and had to help them if he could.” Evelynn explained to them. She acted as if this was a normal happening in her relationship, so no one questioned it.
Nathan asked, “Why do none of you refer to this Alpha by his name?”
“To use his name gives him power. We refuse to give him anymore control or power over us and will never speak his name again.” Evelynn imparted to the men in the room. Mark and Kane noticed their mates nodding their heads in agreement.
Mark had moved next to her near the bed and was watching her stroke the child’s cheek. He wanted to keep her calm and continued talking to her, “How old is little Leo?”
Grinning she answered, “He is six and so smart. His powers are phenomenal, and he isn’t even grown yet.”
“Your son is a witch?” Mark queried.
She laughed out loud at his calling Leo a witch but corrected him as if she was instructing a child, “We call males with the power, Warlocks. Usually, they are not as powerful as woman but because Leo is a demigod, he is more powerful than most high priestesses.”
Cronos walked back in and told the others, “I asked Eric to stay with Gammy and Rose. He seemed like he did not want to leave to begin with. I have a feeling that Rose is his mate and is to young yet to know.”
Nathan asked surprised, “Is that possible? A human witch can mate with a wolf?”
Mark was the one that instructed him, “Yes, if they are fated mates than the human of the relationship can be turned. She will keep her witches’ powers and have her wolf abilities also.”
Cronos was assuring Evelynn, “I will make sure Selene and Katia are present when the time comes to make sure things go smoothly.”
Kane then did his best Ricky Ricardo impersonation, “Cronos, you have so splaining to do.”
Cronos rolled his eyes, “What A few years back I met Evelynn and fell in love. We are mates but I cannot be with her full time. Rhea suffered enough with Ammon, and I cannot hurt her like that. She would never understand, and her anger would know no bounds.”
Kane inquired, “so you and Aunt Rhea are not mates?”
“No, her fated was Ammon. But somehow it did not matter, and he cheated on her. She killed him, the woman, and you know the rest.” Cronos reiterated the part of the story Kane had told them earlier.
“Well let’s hope that your wife does not find out about your human family. We have enough pissed off goddess to deal with.” Nathan declared.
Cronos smacked Nathan on the back saying, “You started the trend.”
Mark ventured, “What did the woman Gammy mean by another angel falling?”
Evelynn spoke up softly as was her way, “The angel who have discord with the earth realm are falling from the heavens like Lucifer did. They do not understand that once they do this they will be stuck unless Lucifer takes them in. The angel Crael and Atriel are not honest with those they turning to their side.”
Cronos picked it up from there, “From what Rose was able to tell me on our way to the packhouse, the angels who angered by Zeus love for humans and supernatural species, are building an army to overthrow Zeus and destroy all life in the earth realm.”
Evelynn finished up with, “They believe if there is only the beings of the god realm then there will be no more reason for jealousy amongst them. We just cannot figure out who is feeding this information to the angels and riling them up.”
Cronos volunteers, “oh, I am quite sure I know who is doing it. I just cannot prove it.”
Nathan adds, “The same person keeping my mate hidden on some island we cannot locate.”
Evelynn looks at all of them surprised, “What do you mean you cannot locate? We know where she is and how to get to her. We have watched through the third eye how your father sends all of you to her, Cronos my love. Katia has warned us not to come to her. She will call when she is ready to leave.”
Nathan growls, “Send me to her now!”
